Just got invited for an interview today. I guess they're still giving them out. Will be there March 6 🙂 VERY excited 😀
Congrats! It is a nice interview you will enjoy it! Good Luck!:luck:

They're making more decisions today, as far as I've heard.

My girlfriend interviewed on 1/23. Called this morning and got an acceptance!
A buddy of mine also interviewed on the same day, he got wait-listed via mail last week. They may not totally be on schedule, nor does it seem like they have made decisions regarding all the same people in each group. Just gotta play the waiting game I guess.

This may seem like a stupid question, but what does the "acceptance" envelope look live vs. the "waitlist" envelope. I assume that the latter is a small envelope with maybe a couple sheets enclosed, whereas the former is a larger envelope. Oui ou non?

Not sure what the waitlist letter looks like but the acceptance comes in a large envelope / packet.

Dear Creighton,

If you accept me I promise to love you forever.

Fondly yours,

X

Congrats on your interview. If you get accepted and need housing, my sister who went to Creighton (class of 2004) , says she recommends Dundee if you go off campus. It's a great area and close to school. She rented from a nice private landlord who has several apartments in the area. She says she usually posts her openings on Craigslist--If you are interested, I will ask her for her ex-landlords' contact info.
Again, Congrats:laugh:

Anybody know when the committee(s) will meet?

I second that. Come on Creighton send me some love! 😍

:luck: Good luck to you! :luck:

thanks and good luck to you as well ABR.... i'm saying non-stop prayers and have included you in mine heh!!!

according to their "approximate 3-week notifications" i should be hearing this week..... i am going to have a heart attack, especially since if i don't get in i have to start studying for the mcats again 🙁

good luck to everyone waiting to hear, and especially to those who have yet to get any other acceptances!

Hey everyone.

I called the office today, and they said they had made a decision on my application. (Alternate list) And that I'd be receiving my letter in the next couple days. (I 2/6)

Good luck everyone!

P.S. Anyone know if the waitlist is ranked?

The waitlist is definately unranked. During the interview day the director of admissions said that the waitlist is a "pool of applicants," but I'm not sure how they decide who to pull out of the pool when spots open up.

I noticed a lot of recent activity in this thread and wanted to wish those still waiting for a decision the best of luck. For those of you who got waitlisted, I wouldn't be too bummed....almost every year there's a pretty good deal of movement. :luck:

They said that the best way to get out of waitlist purgatory was to send them updates and address the weaknesses that they noted on your application. Not sure what exactly they note as weakness - hopefully it won't be somthing like the MCAT because let's be honest, there isn't much time to fix that one at this point! Basically, I took it as showing continued interest in their program and not sitting in idle wait.

This sounds about right, based on what we heard on interview day. The director of admissions was talking about the five areas that they evaluate: service, shadowing, clinical experience, GPA, and MCAT. When he mentioned the MCAT, he said, " but you all have the MCAT score, that's why you're here." So, I would be considerably upset if after all that they said my MCAT was the thing holding me back (although I wouldn't be surprised).

anyone from the 2/13 interview day heard anything yet.....i am incredibly impatient i know, just wondering 🙂

edit: i unfortunately just heard and am on the waitlist....good luck everyone i hope you have better luck than me

I have not heard. Did you call or did you get a letter?

Wow just checked out my financial aid award and was surprised to find nothing but loans. This may be a tough decision for me.

That's interesting because private schools usually award a lot of free monies - at least for UG they did - in order to offset the high cost of attendance.

That is unfortunate. Did they inform you as to what you can do to make your application stronger to get off the list?

Edit: The good thing is that the general consensus is there is significant WL movement at Creighton, probably due to the FA package.

Same here. I really doubt I will be going to Creighton if the financial aid stays the way it is.

hey there!

i was wondering if anyone who interviewed on Friday, 2/6 has heard anything. anything at all. not gonna lie, i'm getting a little antsy.

and, just out of curiousity, those who have heard anything lately, (acceptance, waitlist, or rejection) when did you interview?

I would recommend calling if you are antsy. I called three weeks after my interview and was given a decision, but didn't actually get the letter in the mail until almost two weeks later.

I interviewed the same day and still no word either

haha calling is definitely something i've been up to. i just don't want the person answering the phone to hand me an immediate, verbal rejection for calling too much.

if it's been a while since the interview, and you havent heard anything, would it be accurate to say that it could be a good sign? (it's been a month for me) i'm sure that's not long enough to actually gauge anything. just curious...

EDIT: and congrats lildoc!!! was it just a snail mail acceptance, or did you get a call as well?

I interviewed a couple of weeks ago and am DYING to find out, but am too chicken to call. It seems like they send out letters in batches because people who interviewd on the 6th and 13th received decisions in the mail today. Hm. I wonder if that means they've already deliberated on my group. The anticipation is just horrible. :scared:

Thanks! No call, just a snail mail acceptance. Good luck!

i hear ya..loud 'n clear. the anticipation is getting intolerable :/

well good luck to you! i hope we hear something positive, and something positive SOON!

Yes, you're right....Creighton is one hell of a school, but as you pointed out, the cost of attendance is downright ridiculous. To illustrate, I got my financial award for second year recently and the cost of tuition went up 3,000from last year (and I'd imagine it's only going to go high for third and fourth year)!! For those of you have a choice between a cheaper school, I'd strongly advise you to place the financial aspect high on your priority list. Anyway, that's gonna do it for my rant this evening. As always, if anyone has school specific questions about this topic (or anything else for that matter), you're more than welcome to shoot me a PM

Snail mail acceptance today!!! No phone call or e-mail. (I: 2/13)

Wow just checked out my financial aid award and was surprised to find nothing but loans. This may be a tough decision for me.

Same with me...all loans. This really really sucks. I WANT FREE MONEY CREIGHTON.

FREE MONEY PLEASE!!!

I interviewed at Creighton today, the last day of interviews. I really liked it! They said that a little over 200 people have been accepted so far. About 2/3 of those accepted already have 2 or more acceptances. In the last couple of years they have sent over 300 each year, so there are still plenty to be had for those on the waitlist. And they will be accepting people directly from every interview group. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Thanks for the update, Davy and I hope you hear some good news soon :luck:

so i'm supposed to hear on Friday (according to admissions office)...i am not too sure what to expect considering I interviewed on 2/6 and people from the same day and earlier have been both waitlisted and accepted. I'm not too sure about rejections though; does anybody know?

and as a side note...i'm hoping the med school gods are aware that getting an acceptance would be the bestttt possible birthday gift this week. well, if not the med school gods, then at least creighton....no surprise as to what i'm wishing for when i'm blowing out my candles: world peace, ending word hunger, and getting into creighton. 🙂 is that too much to ask??

Did they make any mention of where they are with those who interviewed after the 6th (ie. 20th and 21st)?

nope, sorry. since i haven't heard yet and i'm in the 2/6 group, i'd assume (if they are going chronologically) that they havent gotten to the 20th/21st groups. but i'm not sure if its safe to assume that since people both on my day, as well as after me (the 13th), have heard. this does make me wonder, however, that maybe the decisions aren't going chronologically. is there another method to the madness? i should stop reading into it b/c its making me paranoid...

good luck to you though!

In your case, I would think this is a good sign because if you were easily dismissable, you'd have a WL or rejection by now. I'm sure you'll be fine -- we tend to be consumed by pre-med neurosis and paranoia -- and you'll be having a good laugh about this once you're on the other side.

Yes, I also think your case is a good sign because it took them almost 2 months to get back to me (I was certain it would be a rejection since everyone else in my group had already heard back) but instead it was a WL. Good luck!

thanks for the vote of confidence you two 🙂
i certainly hope your predictions are accurate...i shall find out in a few days (hopefully) and let you know!

So to all those that are waiting for a response, I ponied up the courage to call them this morning. I found out that a lot of decisions will be made by this Friday -- those who interviewed on the 6th of February and later. The lady was super nice and told me to call back on Monday, or mayby try rolling the dice again later in the day on Friday.

Even as late as the 20th and 21st? Yikes! I expected to wait another week so I wasn't stressing about it.

hey wepio!

thanks for checking and posting that info! i hope today, good ol friday the 13th, brings lots of people good news 🙂

have you called them today yet, or are you planning to? i was thinking i might call near the close of business today, but i've called a bit much and dont really feel like hearing a) "no, sorry there is no decision on your file yet", or b) "yes, we've reached a decision, you should be receiving a letter in the mail in the next few days"...from what i am guessing, that usually means a non-acceptance.

anyway, good luck to you and everyone else out there who's waiting!!
