My contact says the adcom meets on Wednesdays. Judging by the past pattern, they announce the decisions on Fridays.

I'm bracing myself for tomorrow ...

i called admissions on monday and they told me that all decisions had been made. they also told me my decision would be emailed to me (so waitlist or hopefully acceptance) within the week. i assumed i'd hear today, but nothing. anyone know the deal?

I don't know anything either, but I was told at my interview (3/12) that we'd hear within 2 weeks. I wonder what's up.

The dean of admissions is Alan Carver. You can address your update to him, or just to the Admissions Committee.

Acceptances are emailed also. The only decisions that get snail-mailed are rejections.

The dean is that weird guy that gave us the intro!?!? He looked like a fool trying to sell the school IMO. But if you bought like being sold to I'm sure you like him.

I wish that were true (so I could get the good thoughts 🙂), but I don't think it's possible. You were accepted back in February, and I didn't even interview until March, so we wouldn't have been there on the same day.

I think you may be remembering me from another thread where Sinai was discussed (the "Case vs. Mount Sinai" thread). I sent you a PM about it, remember?

In any case, if you want to send me some good luck vibes, I certainly have no objection. I'll take all the good luck I can get.

I am on the waitlist and am trying to make plans for the summer which would not interfere with these dates if i am fortunate enough to get off the waitlist so feedback would be much appreciated.

i dont know about that, looking at previous years mdapps and mssm class of 2012 no one really got off the waitlist untill like 10-20 days after may 15th. its quite possible they build a waitlist then simply wait untill after may 15 to see how many they will be inviting and do it all at once.

No one has even beem waitlisted in the past 2 weeks (at least not on this thread). I have a feeling that they're taking their time going through the final batch of applicants to see who'll get the last few spots in the class, and then waitlist the rest.

I hear that the Sinai wait-list doesn't start moving until the first week of June, so you should probably just kick back and relax for now. Or, if you're like me, and you're stuck on a bunch of wait lists without an acceptance, you can frantically start working on your new AMCAS!

Is it true that Sinai's wait list is RANKED, and that people's ranks never change even with updates??

That is what I was told over the phone by the admissions office several months ago, and maybe someone else can verify it.

So if this is true, then it is useless to send updates or a LOI to Mt. Sinai, correct??

It's true. LOI's and other updates won't help. I think money will though.

oh, well, it was worth a try! i dont' have any more money to throw at schools after spending a ton on apps and interviews. this just makes my decision making process easier. 😛
