I withdrew, fwiw, and it totally broke my heart. Sinai was my first choice at the beginning of the cycle and I was SO incredibly happy to get in. Funny how this stuff works out...

anyway I truly hope you guys who go appreciate it and take advantage of it- it's a really remarkable place. Good luck to those on the waitlist!

Anyone hear anything yet? When they'll start notifying people?

Hey dude,

Word from the Sinai admissions office is that their wait list does not start moving until the beginning of June. So, uh, yeah, we should get ready to wait just a little bit longer.

hi yall i just heard the great news from the admissions office. mount sinai was by far and wide my first choice but once i was waitlisted i had to convince myself to go to my state school, unc, UNTIL now. not sure what im going to do now; i hate money. good luck to everyone! thought id let yall know that the list might be moving.

my friend just got in from the waitlist today, too. I really hope I hear good news as well! Good luck to everyone!!! Do you guys think it's too forward to call the dean?

sweet! congrats guys. how did you receive the news? call/email/snailmail?

Yeah i received my acceptance email yesterday also. Too bad I cant go. Sinai was my first pick and it kills me that i wont be there, but i have to look at my bottom line. So UConn it is, im gonna withdraw from Sinai officially this week.....

did those of you who were accepted off the waitlist send in updates or letters or anything?

i sent in an addendum the day after my interview but other than that, no

For those accepted from the waitlist, would you mind to share your stats? Thank!

not to be a downer, but its quite curious to me that the admissions office told half of us, as SortOfMcDreamy pointed out, that the waitlist wont start moving till the beginning of june then sent out a bunch of acceptences yesterday... cant be a very good sign for those of us still waiting lol

I called today, and apparently around 40 people were accepted from the waitlist already to fill the class. From here on out, it's just filling up random spots that open up...bummer.

lol called it! and yea that is a bummer... cant be more than 10-20 spots opening up from here on out

those who got in off the wait lst can u guys plz share yours stats and whther or not u are accepting it?

I know there is no hope for us ( those who are waiting) but cant help hoping😀

She is matriculating, and I'm pretty sure she sent a letter of intent. Good luck to you! I hope we both get in!!!:xf::luck:

Im not losing hope!

My source tells me that there is still plenty of room left in the class.

Would anyone who went to second look mind sharing your highlights of the weekend with me? Anything that really stood out and that made Sinai look like even more of a right choice would be GREAT to hear about. I'm actually in NYC right now revisiting and hopefully talking with students tomorrow and am trying to absorb all the information I can. Thanks!

Hi jmillski. That's great that you are visiting with students now. If you happen to find out the answers to these questions will you please let me know:

Do the professors give students all lecture notes ahead of time for every course?

Are we required to do clerkships at Elmhurst? And, is it possible to be placed there during your first year (assuming you don't want to be)?

Do the tutors get paid for their services, or does MSSM require it?

Thank you 🙂

i will do every bit of that if you answer why like hess gas so much

I don't really buy much gas. I am a fan of Hermann Hesse because he is a man who had a lot of insight into life. Also, when I was little, my parents bought me Hess trucks and they were pretty cool. 😎 I hope that fulfills my requirements. Thanks!

crap so i kinda failed you. so in order of question...

crap i forgot to ask

you can go to elmhurst your first year if youd like but arent required to and crap forgot to ask if you are required to for rotations

nope you arent required to tutor but crap forgot to ask if you get paid

i 2/3 failed you SORRY!

also i only just sent my finaid stuff. has anyone had any luck with good financial aid packages so far? i know they mentioned that since they are private, without a strong historic base and an undergrad institution they cant quite compete with some schools with scholarships

Hey guys-I just talked to the admissions office. The 40ish students who were accepted right after May 15th have until the end of next week to accept/decline the offer, and the week after the committee should be meeting to take more people off of the waitlist, if necessary. :xf:'Till then!!:luck:

does anyone have sinai's average step 1 scores? they would be MUCH appreciated.

coca- really?? my email says june 1st- end of next week would be very nice

Hi jmill. Thanks for trying. From what I understand, this year Sinai averaged 228 on the Step 1.

jmills, did you decide on sinai yet?

heres ur answer.

and i have a feeling tomorrow is gonna be the day the second round of waitlist acceptances come out so good luck to everyone!! :luck::luck:

I called in today, they're having a meeting this morning, hopefully some more movement soon on the waitlist.

I called the admissions office today and was also told that they have already met, but they did not decide on when to send out the acceptance emails. The secretary proceeded to say that maybe we will know if 2 weeks.

hmm.. don't schools usually send out acceptances soon after decisions are made? why sit on that info for 2 wekks?

It's med school admissions...nothing makes sense in this process.

Hopefully the wait is shorter.

Please post any updates when you guys receive them.

SO they already sent out the second round of acceptance?😱:meanie:

I don't think the emails were sent out already (didn't ask but I think they weren't planning on emailing acceptances this week) but was told that we could call and check during Status Check times next week. There might be another meeting to take people off the waitlist if people from the second round decide to decline the offer (due to hearing back from other waitlisted schools). Good luck to you all.

Thanks for the updates. I will call Monday and report what I find.

i talked to the admissions office just now and they accepted a bunch of people from the waitlist after their meeting this week (and already notified them). their next meeting is june 23...
