you can check your fin aid online if you were sent the letter with your ID and i guess if you submitted fafsa 🙂

Thanks so much ar2388! It seems we'll be classmates come August. Hope to see you then!

Ummm just realized that I entered the wrong grade in on my secondary even though the right one was on my AMCAS transcript. Big deal or no? I didn't mean to lie...

were you accepted?

yay futuredoc!!! you coming to 2nd look? 🙂

Yeah...I guess I'll call on Monday?
hmm... thats a bit of a tough call i guess
did you and your interviewer click really well during your interview? maybe talk to that person first, especially if youve stayed in touch in some minor way and they like you?

Is this a really big deal? I mean, it's correct on my AMCAS. I have to assume that typos and mistakes occur fairly regularly. I guess I can start with my interviewer. It's been a loooong time since that thank you note in October.

depends. did they mention anything about rescinding the offer? if not, I wouldn't bring it to their attention since mistakes do happen and it is correct on the AMCAS. If it was a big deal, they wouldn't have given you an interview nor accept you in the first place.

No, I just recently noticed it myself...so it probably isn't a big deal then...phew...

I just kind of stayed in touch with my interviewer so I threw it out there, but yea if you were accepted and no one noticed, i wouldnt worry about it.. hey, maybe you never noticed it yourself? eh eh! lol

yupp!! I also want to go to the dinner on the 23rd. Im excited that its so close 🙂

Thats great! I may or may not make it to the dinner on the 23rd, but it'll be good meeting you on the 24th 🙂

So I know this might come off as lazy, seeing as I can easily call/go and ask, but does anyone know the first year clinical experience at NYU?

Your current application status is: Withdrawn.

Could not wait any longer with uncertainty so I ended up withdrawing.
Good luck to all of you on the waitlist.

For those of you who were accepted and planning to go for sure have fun at NYU.

Anyone know for sure when we will be hearing back from waitlist? Still after May 15?

bye harate... good luck! 🙂

Thanks ar2388. I will stop by NYU if I decide to go to Columbia.
I will know for sure where I will be in a week or two after I get financial aid info.

:hello::woot:

Does anyone know the likelihood of being accepted from the waitlist (i.e. how many people are on the waitlist and how many people may be accepted from it)? I know it's hard to say since it varies from year to year, but does anyone know the figures from last year?

Gauging from these forums, it seems like this year many people were waitlisted and a few were rejected post-interview. Does the large number of people on the waitlist imply there will be substantial waitlist movement, or not necessarily?

Ooh and also, does anyone know if the waitlist is ranked? Has anyone had any luck with calling to get more information on where they stand? Thanks!

Mine was not- all loans.
Perhaps it would change if I sent in my tax returns. But considering my other acceptances and the financial aid offers I've received so far, I don't think NYU could offer comparable aid. We'll see.

how did you get a package without sending in tax returns? isn't that part of the application?

I sent them my FAFSA. I asked repeatedly after that if anything else was necessary. Then I logged in to the NetPartner (or whatever it's called) and saw the loans. I guess depending on my tax returns my aid might change.

anyone have any more info on the wait list? ie how many might be on it, possible movement

I called today. I got no information out of them other than the fact that it's really all dependent on their situation by May 15th. Also, I can't remember anymore if I'm mixing this up with one of the many other schools I also called today 🙂thumbdown), but as far as I remember, the wait list is unranked and everyone will be re-reviewed...

I withdrew today, couldnt cut it financially. Good luck to the wait listers.

anyone know any updates on the waitlist? i'm dying waiting!

I feel like there is not much more to find out. I think mid may is when things historically have moved for NYU, so we shall see. I am sure after may 15th we can ask them a few more questions, such as how many poeple are on it and when could expect a wave of movement post may 15...

Congratulations strawberry! Must have been an awesome, early surprise!

Hope this isn't too vulturey, but could you please tell us what you did after being WLed and how they broke the good news?

congrats strawberry!! do you think youre gonna go?

haha, although I'll be $250K in debt, I'm going.

I sent in a letter of intent after being waitlisted (~1 page discussing why NYU is THE med school for me).

In terms of notifications, I just got an email saying congratulations and that my acceptance letter is in the mail.

Good luck with everyone still waiting!!!

Does anyone know NYU's wait list stats (i.e. how many students are on the waitlist and how many have been accepted in the past)? I read on another forum that NYU generally has a lot of wait list movement... can anyone confirm that this is true? Thanks!

I'm just as anxious and curious, but since we're only 9 days away from 5/15, when the schools will have a much clearer picture about their current situation, I'd just rather wait until a couple of days past that date and then call 😛

I don't know. It seems like NYU was doing something strange with their method of accepting this year (less students accepted on a semi-rolliing basis so they can up their US news ranking or something?!), so WL movement this year might be totally different from previous years - in either direction I guess...

I know; this wait is crushing me!

They emailed me a few days ago saying that I was holding X number of acceptances and to please withdraw from those I was not planning to attend asap because NYU wants to fill their class soon. So maybe some other kind souls have done this and the waitlist will pick up a little?

I'm officially withdrawing my acceptance today. Feels weird to close the door on Manhattan for the next 4 years, but for a lot of reasons NYU is just not the right place for me. Good luck to you guys on the WL!

so where 'ya headed?

I think it's a great sign that strawberry already got accepted off of the waitlist! I don't think they'd be accepting anyone new at this point if their class was overbooked by a lot, and I'm sure there are more people planning on withdrawing before 5/15

yaaaaay! want to go celebrate this potentially good news but don't wanna raise my hopes up too much yet 🙂

Wait... so NYU is checking up on everyone already? How do schools know where else you are holding spots?
