UCSF and UCLA both interview around 500 people to fill classes of about 160-170.
UCLA interviews closer to 750. 250 is a big difference.
You figure there would have to be substantial overlap in interviewed applicants since they both look for many of the same qualities in their students.........I want to say that about 70% of the applicants who interviewed at both will get in to at least one. That's a total guess though.
I know of way too many people who interviewed at UCLA and got skunked at UCSF. I don't think there is too huge of an overlap.
That being said, your chance of getting into at least one of those schools is exactly 65%. I ran a few numbers just for you (MSAR data). So, your estimate of 70% was close. But, don't forget that MSAR data for acceptances includes people taken off the waitlist, which may happen to you. Good luck
