Nope - the final decision letter part is still blank. I think I'm going to call them tomorrow to make sure it's not a mistake. 😳
By the way, there might have been more sent out - my parents live literally right next to Westwood, so mine might just have been the first to arrive.

WOAH!! that's awesome. That came amazingly early considering the admissions office has been telling us all mid to late January and last year they didn't send out acceptances until almost February.

Were you guys all october/november interviews? I interviewed in December so I guess I've got more waiting to do.
I interviewed early October, but I live in Irvine (~20-30 miles from LA), so if mine is coming with this batch it will be here tomorrow (or not at all if i phail).

BTW, coping, did you get the 5K scholarship too? I'm guessing everyone gets it..i remember last year they all did.

So are you speculating that these December invites are going out to a very small pool of scholarship recipients, so the late January date still stands for everyone else?
According to my student tour guides.. all students at ucla som got the 5k scholarship last year.

It makes one wonder, doesn't it? If you went back there tomorrow and asked them when the first acceptances are going out, what do you think the response would be? I am a little embarrassed for the office staff member who gave you that information, since surely the letters were sent out that same day. But, perhaps, they did not know in the morning that letters would be going out in the afternoon. Who knows?
Still, thank you for asking. It is nice to have someone nearby.

So apparently, there were only a few acceptances that went out yesterday - most will still go out in January (from what I understood).

funny thing is im supposed to be flying out on sunday to do upenn and cornell and i already bought the tickets...im gonna try to get credit and buy a ticket to hawaii. 😀

how did you know? They let you call to accept your position? How much is the deposit to hold your position?
No, they send u a letter and u write a letter back accepting your position. The most gratifying sentence I've ever written!

You can call and ask if they sent you a letter, as I did (no for me 🙁). Any letter sent is an acceptance. They do not make any post-interview waitlist/rejection decisions until Spring, so a letter at this point is only the best news.
This was an extremely small batch (~30ish), or so I was told. The big batch is the one that the admissions office keeps referring to, coming late January, early February. They accept ~250 every year, so let's keep our heads up guys (and hope the rest of interviewees don't push us down the ranked list😉). I'd give anything to see that list!

Can someone verify the time that acceptances would be coming out or how long after interviews that info comes out? Honestly, the interview process at UCLA was so disorganized for me, and they never really annouced that info. I interviewed in 1st week of december, and just wanted to get an idea of when I would likely find out about my status.

I saw you had an earlier thread about UCLA vs. Stanford - have you for sure decided on UCLA? I'm 95% sure I'm going, unless I get any incredible financial aid from elsewhere, so we may be classmates!
