bumpity bump!
Where's the love?
Where's the love?
Yea vermont has been super slow with waitlist, I wonder whats going on.
how does the waitlist normally work, is it rolling or do they waitlist everyone and review again after they have finished interviewing. It seems like not too many ppl have been accepted so far.
I havent heard anything form vermont for 3 months... guessing a rejection.
Has anyone had any luck with in the area or letters of interest to get interviews?
really love this school and would love an interview
I'm convinced a letter of interest is how I got my interview invitation at UVM. I sent it in and within a week I was small pooled and two days later I received an interview invitation. If you're really interested in the school it can't hurt. I'm also not sure if it's going to help that much this late in the season unless you've already been small pooled.
Hope that helps! UVM is an awesome school and I'm so excited to start this coming August!
But how did you go about sending the letter. I think, if I remember correctly, Patrick recieved it and said that they don't take updates.... or maybe I'm lying. I'm in between classes right now at school and can't look up my email threads with UVM. But, in any case, did you just email it (addressing it to Patrick) or snail mail it (adderessing it to Admissions)?
😕
Disregard my last post... my OAC was messed up because they were switching me from small pooled to interview. SO EXCITED
Any words of wisdom from those in/already interviewed?

NH does not provide any financial incentives for other schools to take its students--and thus, NH is one of the hardest states to have residency in and get into medical school.
Take this from a former NH resident, who was not very sorry to give up residency there for this process!
Congratulations!!!
Words of advice: Of course look at the interview feedback section of SDN. Really helps. But what I think UVM COM is really looking for are people who are a)really passionate about medicine/health care and b) that you really are interested in moving to Vermont.
Being a California state resident myself I think it was really important to drive home how much I like Vermont, particularly Burlington, as well as how important it is to me to study medicine in a state like VT.
I'm a west coast girl who is currently living in Burlington. So if any of you have questions about Burlington or Vermont in general I'd be more than happy to address them. Also, I know quite a few M1s and some M2s, so I can also give a little bit (though not much) of feedback about COM as well.
I was just small pooled today after being complete since mid Sept. wow. Anyone know how full they are/how many interviews are left?
I got an acceptance offer via email yesterday (2/10) afternoon! So excited! I'm out of state, interviewed 10/7 and was eventually placed on the out of area/alternate list, until now.
do you mind me asking what your stats are and if you sent any update letters? i really want to get of the waitlist here!

Hey guys! Got accepted on Tuesday😀😀😀 after interviewing at the end of Jan. I'm extremely excited...totally fell in love w/UVM. Anyone know how they are w/financial aid?
Good Luck Raraxavis! I hope you enjoy your interview day! I know I did!!!
Thanks! My gpa is abysmal, so I'm not sure why they're letting me interview... but I'm definitely not complaining. My biggest worry is that I'm going to totally fall in love with the school (and Burlington - so my kind of town). My car got stolen this week so I'm really ready to get out of the city and back into a nice, middleofthewilderness crunchyville.
I'm really sorry about your car!! That's awful... If you want crunchyville, I think you will fall in love with Burlington... and honestly, of all the schools I visited, UVM was the prettiest hands down. The hospital is gorgeous. GOOD LUCK!!!!!! They're so nice there, so don't stress at all.
Haha thanks for your sympathy, the car was costing me ridiculous sums of money every month between parking and all the break-in repairs (there's nothing like living on the wrong side of the tracks!) so maybe this will be a good thing.
And are you sure... prettier than Worcester? 😛
Do y'all think I should consider an interview in March to be a waitlist-only interview?
well from what it seems vermont waitlists most people, so its not too bleek to interview late in the cycle.I got an invitation for end of March too. Chances look so bleak. Meh.
So I've interviewed at harvard, hopkins, columbia and UCSF and I just got rejected pre-interview from vermont.... 😕 what a damn crazy and random process. I was looking forward to visiting vermont too. oh well.
