oh yeah, sorry.

well it sounds like you were there with me last friday (1/22), so you heard that they have only admitted 95 people so far. of course it isn't too late to be accepted.

melody responded same-day:

"Your email has been forwarded to our Sr. Assoc. Dean for Admissions so she is aware of your continued interest in BCM."

get it in fast though. dean eddins said the computer would probably have the list made by today. they will probably meet soon.

Just a short note to let you know how much we enjoyed having you interview with us and what will transpire from this point.

All interviewed applicants are placed in a continually growing rank list from which a variable number are chosen every week beginning in mid-October, and continuing through early April. There is no set time after the interview for acceptance calls and letters.

During the first week of April a final wait-list is prepared and generally includes the majority of interviewed applicants who have not been accepted and wish to remain on the wait list. The wait list will remain until the class is filled in mid-July at which time all remaining on the wait list will be notified that the class is filled. If you wish to submit additional material, it will be placed in your file for future reference.

Thank you again for taking time from your busy schedule to interview at Baylor College of Medicine.

That's who I sent it to last year; I figured they'd know better than me who to forward it on to rather than blindly sending it to a random dean who may or may not actually have anything personally to do with reading updates 🙂
 
So it's official. The interim-president sent out an official e-mail to all students/faculty stating that Baylor College of Medicine will remain an independent institution. No more merger talks... with either Rice or Baylor University (in Waco, Texas).

That's when I interviewed too! Congrats!!!!

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, even though I'm OOS. I probably won't hear anything for awhile since my non-residency status surely pushes me down in 'ranking'.
 
when the EFF are we gonna hear? this is the worst rolling school in the world... i interviewed mid september!!!

It was actually via email. It may be because I sent a letter of interest, which bumped my file up a little bit, and then they just confirmed that they don't want to offer me an interview. It seems like there aren't very many left at this point.

I agree. We might have interviewed the same day.

It's almost like Baylor is a non-rolling school with a very very very small amount of acceptances trickling out before March.

that's the impression I got from the dean's description of the process at the end of my interview day.

they literally keep enough spots open so that 100% of people who interview on the last day could feasibly get in, just in the name of fairness. I imagine we will see a lot more movement in the next couple of weeks.

probs only 1-2 more interview days left.

Me, too. It makes me very nervous to think about it, though - it must have so many people on it. Interviewing in September makes me think I was toward the top before the interview, but now I've gotten pushed back with each new interview set.

That's nice to hear. I interview the last day - and it might be my only shot at med school (no acceptances yet ugh)

same. BCM is the only place i have interviewed at so far, and it was only a week and a half ago. I have two more in the pipe. still real nervous though.

I'm interviewing the veeeeerrry last day. Feb 19th
 
I feel you guys on the nervousness... i'm a second time applicant and I've only received 2 interviews. But, the chances of getting in at BCM are pretty good compared to elsewhere right? I mean, they interview like 650 and accept around 300 expecting lots of students to choose to go to other schools they've been accepted to? I just hope I don't get wait listed because I'll bet that list barely moves at all with so many acceptances being given out in the first place.

:shrug: it's just hard to say. You guys could be anywhere on the list, really. Like they said, there are still a TON of acceptances that will be coming out later 🙂

I got the acceptance call yesterday evening around 7pm. Interviewed sometime in October. I was almost giving up on this school and what a pleasant surprise! 😀

Rejected pre-interview today. Funny story though, the email said "there were many more highly qualified applicants than there were interview slots" but after reading the first part i thought they were going to say "there were many more highly qualified applicants than you" LOL.
