go to sleep guys seriously. you don't watch plants grow do you? this is the kind of stuff that makes ppl think premeds are crazy.

on top of that, i know some ppl that got emails (LOR requests) from mayo during the day. so this whole "night" email theory doesnt seem correct.

As far as I know this theory was postulated during last year's cycle, and it has continued during this cycle for the most part. If I recall correctly, the day emails were for LOR confirmation, not the actual request.

Hmm... after reading this thread and, yes, compulsively checking my email late every night and first thing every morning, I received the MSTP LOR request on 7/14 at 5:31 PM EST. 🙄

LOL, yes. I called the admissions office about a question today, and then the lady and I began a chat about how their late night emails keep us all on our toes. She said, "Expect some action soon!" I flipped and asked her what that meant, and she just said that they've been working through the applications quickly. 🙂

Well, she was looking at my application and I already have my LOR request so I'm guessing she means the complete letter.

What is a "complete letter?" I thought we were complete after the LORs were received. Is that something else before interview invites go out? 😕

Once your LORs are requested, they're simply put into their system for download later. When the admissions committee actually sits down to look at your file, they then download your letters at which point you get the email saying that your file is complete.

I wish AMCAS would verify my primary, but it's probably going to take a couple more weeks. 🙁 I feel like I'm getting left behind at Mayo. Mayo, please leave me a spot!!!!

They have been accelerated through everything thus far. I don't know when interview invites came out last year, but I bet it wasn't until mid to late August. My guess is that invites/rejections will be out sometime next weekish. If some one wants to be a rock star and check when Mayo started interview invites last year, we could have a better idea of what this year's accelerated cycle will be like.

😕 I always notice when I receive an email as well as when it was sent...if by note you mean write it down, then no. With any email though, if I get one in the middle of the night it does catch my attention, because that is when most people are asleep. I don't really see how being aware that Mayo tends to send mass emails late at night is actually that neurotic. Are many of the other things us SDNers do neurotic? Definitely, but I don't think this is one of them.

I wish I had a blackberry or iPhone or a phone that worked well. My phone struggles to make calls and send texts...

Awww, good luck on your other schools! You are applying to a lot of schools, so you'll get in somewhere. No worries. 🙂

I haven't received the LOR request but no rejection either. I definitely don't like feeling being strung along.

hazaaaaaaah! I live to dream another day! 3:00 AM and still no email rejecting me! Got my LORs request 7/2, confirmed recieved 7/9 and now 8, count them 8 days later and no rejection! Every day that one isn't rejected is a day closer to late july and interview invites!

Why yes, you're invited to the itsalovestory waiting club. Here, we wait and wait and wait. Sometimes we cross our fingers, sometimes we swear, but usually we just compulsively check our email and SDN.

I didn't remember anyone from here with an LOR request being rejected. I guess we are all in the safety zone for now until "late July" comes along. I am thinking next week is the start of "late July."
