Can someone post the questions that come on the secondary at Mercer? I have filled them out before and had it saved on my laptop but it crashed a while back (hard drive). I know one was geared toward why mercer, while the other was about an ethical dilemma.

1. The mission of the Mercer University School of Medicine is to educate physicians and health professionals to meet the primary care and health care needs of rural and medically underserved areas of Georgia. Please describe how you will contribute to this mission.

2. The recruitment of a diverse student body is a major goal of Mercer University School of Medicine's Admissions Committee. Students learn from each other as well as from faculty, and being part of a diverse student body affords additional learning opportunities for every student. Please tell us what facets of your life and education to date would contribute to the achievement of this goal. Such facets might include your early education, socioeconomic status, culture, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, and life or work experiences. This question is optional.

3. Please describe an ethical dilemma in which you were involved and how you resolved it. (250 words maximum)

4. Is there anything you would like to explain to the Admissions Committee about your application that would help them better understand your circumstances?

Hey Guys,
I got a call from Dr. Clifton around 4 PM telling me that I had been accepted. Just thought I'd let you know that waitlist movement is occurring. I would call and try to see what's going on if I were you! Yay...hope to see you guys at Mercer next fall!

just accepted today during my morning jog. got a call from Simeco, the Assistant Director for Admissions and Student Affairs. I received another call later and then an acceptance email. I am turning it down since i have already accepted the offer at MCG and cannot afford Mercer 🙁. good luck to everyone. Mercer is a great place to end up 🙂

Hey Guys,

I had my coversation with Leslie about my app and what I could improve on. She basically told me that it was all about my "fit" with their mission b/c the rest of my application was looked upon favorably(gpa, mcat, extracurr, etc.). It would be great if anyone could share some of things on your app in terms of shadowing/volunteering that they liked as far as showing your "fit" to their mission of underserved GA. I did have some shadowing experience in a free clinic (but not much), and this is because I was working full time in a large orthopaedic practice in Atlanta (not very underserved or rural).

Along with wanting to put people into practice into areas of Georgia in need, Mercer is geared toward students wanted to practice primary care. I.e. they are more interested in someone who wants to go into family medicine over neurology or orthopedics.
