My app was marked complete today.

For anyone who is still waiting, it took nearly a month from submission to completion. I'm IS btw.

Thanksgiving day will be six weeks from my interview. Got my acceptance notification yesterday. I've heard of a couple others who interviewed early and received acceptances yesterday as well. Good luck to those awaiting interviews and congrats to those with acceptances.

OHSU is my top choice (well I'm still waiting on a couple more schools to notify me of their decision post-interview but only one really interests me at this point). I'm 95% positive I'll be up there next year. Looking forward to it....

yeah, so after clearing the mistake up with my school yesterday, they re-uploaded my letters to virtualeval and I checked my status today and it's complete. (no email btw, which is kinda weird)

Definitely wish I had caught that sooner. Oh well.... I really hope I at least get an invite here... I LOVE Portland and am super excited about this particular school!

I think eatsleep is talking about a post-interview hold, not pre-interview.

Aw its okay, you know how crazy this process is. There is no "behind" or "not behind" in this game. Adcoms seem to have their own timeline for everything. Chin up & keep trekkin, still a way's to go before the cycle is over. 🙂 If you don't have a rejection in hand, there's still a chance.

They are doing pre-interview holds also. Just checked mine today. This is what was posted on my status today:

Your file has been screened and is currently on hold for an interview, pending further review. Due to the competitiveness and size of the applicant pool, some applicants are placed on hold until the entire pool has been assessed. As soon as a final decision has been made we will notify you immediately. This decision may not be rendered until the end of February.

Calimed is right, until I have that rejection in hand there is still hope!

The way they explained it when I interviewed it seemed like that after your interview, you were discussed by the adcom and then given a score (1-10, just as an example.) Earlier on in the cycle, they set the accept bar high, like 9, and if your score is above that bar, you get in. As the cycle progresses, the bar gets lowered and when it goes below your particular score, you're in. So if you got a 7.8, you have to wait til they drop the accept bar below that.

I could be wrong, but that's how it sounded to me.

OOS interview. Complete 9/25. Invite 10/29. Interview in a few days - super excited about OHSU!

They tend to accept about 10-15% of the interviewers right off the bat and reject about 10-15% as well. The other 70-80% or so is put on hold and can be accepted anywhere from a couple of weeks later to May 15th or if they're put on the waitlist, even later.

If you haven't heard anything yet, no need to worry. They haven't looked at your app yet. When they do they'll decide interview, hold for interview, or reject. Last year I was complete mid-November and was on hold until February.

I was complete on the same day and haven't heard anything either! Judging by the post above me, it looks like it may be a while before we hear back...

It is sad that the Eugene campus didn't get off the ground. Starting in Fall 2008, they were going to have 30 or so first year medical students in Eugene (at the UO) and then have them complete the second year at OHSU. Due to budget issues, I think, it got cut and never happened.

Yep, my class is the exception to the "120" rule. All of of the other classes are larger, and eventually OHSU wants to continue to increase class size.

There are still changes on the horizon, they are just taking longer to complete. OHSU is planning to expand the campus at the bottom of the tram before branching out into the rest of the state, but the goal is to eventually have several integrated campuses.

I'm trying to decide which interview date to choose. Does anyone think there is a disadvantage to choosing one of the later dates (other than maybe hearing back a bit later)?

I decided not to do the OHSU secondary a while back (secondary recieved 9/16). I'm way past the deadline and I received a snail mail today telling me that I have passed the deadline, but they're giving me up til January 1st to turn in the secondary

Did they send everyone who didn't do the secondary this letter?

If you're post interview, I don't think an update is going to do anything. It says on the status page that nothing you send them will change anything. They pretty much give you a score after your interview and that's that. If you are pre-interview, I would say email. Before my interview I was told to send any updates before my interview by email.

I was complete on 10/20, and 11/9 (ish) they emailed me a letter about whether or not I was a resident; asked for all taxes, etc. On Friday they finally said yes, IS. Soo.... I'm hoping they are interested then?! Maybe an interview invite coming along?! (fingers crossed) has this happened to anyone? thanks!!!
