let the acceptances pour in
like the raindrops outside my window.

haha

...now is usually about the time they call.

They may not meet this week. It is the first monday after a major holiday.

I thought the same. Though someone said there were acceptances this Monday last year, they got started a lot earlier this year.

UNC makes my Mondays so stressful...

Haha my heart rate drastically increases every time my phone rings between 6:30 - 8:30 pm on adcom Mondays; unfortunately, i have been getting worked up for nothing so far. I doubt anyone knows the answer to this question, but I will ask it anyway: do you guys think reviewed/in the process of being reviewed applications (i.e. those of us who recieved those emails) are prioritized and subsequently re-reviewed in any sort of order, or do you think the process becomes random once an application has been reviewed once?

I'm going to venture a guess and say that the committee did not meet. Maybe they will meet next Monday and then resume the biweekly meetings?

Also for the poster that asked about the email, I think it was just a form email sent to anyone who interviewed after a certain number of weeks. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hey everyone! The admissions committee did meet tonight, got one of the phone calls at around 6:30 pm, EST. Good luck to everyone else, and hope to see you here next year!

Congratulatins. Any idea how many acceptances go out each time the committee meets?

just curious... have AdComs members been calling from their personal cell phones or is it a UNC-affiliated number (usually 919-96X-XXXX)

I got my acceptance call last night around 6:30pm...it was from a 919-966-XXXX number

It's kinda depressing to post this amongst all these acceptance posts (congrats guys, btw)

But I FINALLY got my interview invite today. I'm IS but I'm a re-applicant. My application was complete 10/9

This is just as great of news to hear for people that have been waiting like you 🙂. (Although I'm OOS, so not exactly the same).

I didn't get the email either. Would someone mind cutting and pasting what the email says please?

I am IS interviewed early oct. Did not get any e-mail or IS letter for tution purpose - so do not know what is going on.

Agreed. Hopefully we all get some good news, IS and OOS alike.

true true... I am super stoked about the interview and I didn't mean to sound so negative... just going through this process twice has made it hard not to get like that sometimes. I was really hoping I would get an earlier interview slot this year, that's all. But I'm super excited regardless

Good luck everyone!!!!! :luck: :luck:

Congratulations on the interview!

For those who asked earlier, my phone call was from a 919 number. I also never received an email regarding in-state tuition.

I'm curious. For those who were recently accepted, how many weeks did you have to wait until you heard back from UNC?

Ahh now I'm really antsy, since we interviewed on the same day! Here's hoping the phone call/letter comes soon.. this is my #1 choice by a mile! At least there are finals to drown out the neuroticism 😳

i think i remember reading on last years thread that a lot of people arent accepted till like jan. do yall know if most of their accepted people get in relatively early (6-8 weeks or less) or do you think that they will still take a lot of people who interviewed a while ago (mine was in sept)

I interviewed Oct 30th and was just accepted on Monday (Nov 30) but they said that it normally takes 6-8 weeks to hear back. I'm also IS.

I am at 7 weeks right now. I received that email about no decision available a few weeks ago (4 week mark). I am just so antsy. I want this more than anything in the world. I don't know what else to do at this point except keep the faith.

Hang in there since they have not rejected you. I am IS and interviwed early oct but have not received any such thing nor IS letter for tution purpose. Did any of those IS candidates accepted got IS status letters before or after acceptance?

Question for folks who've been accepted:

when you sent in both the form committing to the school (in a non-binding sense) and the $100 deposit how long did it take for the check to be cashed and/or receive some kind of acknowledgement of this commitment? I sent in the form and the check to the two different addresses nearly 2 wks ago but the check hasn't been cashed and I've heard nothing. I know this may be undue worrying but I want to make sure they know I'm def headed to UNC next fall, esp since they say you have two weeks to respond! I thought I would check here before I bug the admissions office....

I am IS and never received a tuition letter but I took some summer classes at UNC about a year or so ago and qualified as IS when I applied for those classes so that may be why...that or hopefully it will be in the acceptance packet.

I got an 2 emails saying they had been received. Not sure when..but they should let you know when they process them. But if it's close to your 2 week mark letting the office know you sent it probably wouldn't hurt.

You are a NC resident but not because you took classes at UNC. I am IS and I have not received anything from UNC after my interview in early oct.

so you can be accepted before having your residency confirmed, am i correct?

I think amt meant since they qualified then as a resident they should also qualify now, and perhaps that's why UNC hasn't notified. However, I also took classes at UNC as an IS resident previously, but I still got a residency letter a little while ago. So you should still look for a letter amt.

Iam IS but not received any letter so far.

Hollla fellow class of 2014!

By the way,
<----------If this guy can get in, everyone here's got a good shot. Best of luck mates.

thanks for the heads up...hopefully it will come soon!

What do mean? Can you elaborate.

I just mean that I see myself as a very average applicant in a pool of very bright students. I am very grateful and I feel very fortunate and blessed that a school of UNC's caliber accepted me.
Given that, I believe that anything can happen and that everyone who's anxiously waiting right now has a great shot.

How long did you have to wait to hear Dr. Wake n Bake? How many weeks from interview to most awesome day ever (aka acceptance day).

Congratulations. what your stats are like? Lot of us are still waiting for the good news.

I am currently an IS undergrad at UNC and got the residency letter but have not heard anything besides the residency letter and "in the review process" email. So, if you are getting residency status, look for the letter. If you've been accepted and in a couple weeks you still don't get one, contact Randee Reid because she's in charge of residency stuff. If you did get a letter, I guess we just keep hoping for that acceptance call...

two questions
- did anyone interview in sept/oct and NOT receive an email?

- have any emails gone out this week?

i reapplied a bit late so i received and submitted my secondary this week and i received the complete email yesterday. however, the email says that reapplicants are reevaluated again for an interview. my question is, how long did it take to get an interview invite from your complete email?

I got a missed call last night and my voicemail is full. I called the number back and it was the UNC admissions office. I am assuming they didn't call me to reject me that would be cruel. I will let you guys know for sure on Monday. Good luck guys!

OOS
Primary Submitted:8/3
Secondary:9/11
Interview Invite: 9/23
Interview: 11/16
Potential Acceptance: 12/4

(all this info is on my mdapp)

Update: Dr. Willis just called me again today and it's official!!!

I completed my secondary late Aug and received interview invite mid-September. But yes you are correct, reapplicants are screened again before being given an interview. G'luck!

and congrats BubbaChuck3!
