If it's anything like last year, be prepared to wait until May to get the rejections. From my experience from last year (personal, friends, and obsessive SDN checking last year's thread), they tend to make you wait until the end of the cycle before giving you a decision.
My understanding of the process is as follows: If you are a definite YES, they will get back to you pretty soon (after the first Adcom meeting after your interview). If you're a MAYBE candidate (which the majority are), they keep going back to your file and re-reviewing it until the end of April.... that means that there is a POSIBILITY that you will get a phone call after any Adcom meeting if they decide to accept you. I think very few (if any) people land in the definite NO pile that gets pre-interview rejections early in the year. Check last year's thread, but I'm pretty sure the waitlist decision doesn't go out until April as well (that's an email).
I landed in the MAYBE pile last year and I swear my heart skipped a beat everytime I heard my phone ringing Monday evenings around dinner time on the days the Adcom met. Sadly, I got the snail mail the first week of May with a rejection 🙁
Now if only they would send me an interview invite so I can go through this hell-ish process again... I swear, applying to med school must take like 5 years off of your life with all the stress!
