I don't think this years class will be any bigger, but in the next few years they are going to increase it to 200.

I read an article on a thread last year that said funding was approved for a class that big, but hadn't heard a timeline. The article stated that the oos spots were to be a big part of the increase.

that's too bad, an increase in class size would be nice!

We probably won't hear about November interviews til the last week of October...

Hey guys, I'm withdrawing from OU, just got into one of my top choices today. Rooting for y'all to get interviews and acceptances. :luck:

Just so you guys know, class size is going up to 165 this year.

Come on people, tell us about the interviews!

Increased class size is good! How were the first round interviews??

Interviews were very low key. I didn't get asked any ethical or hypothetical questions. It was more just a conversation where I talked about my experiences. I thought the 3 on 1 would be daunting but its not that bad. If yall have any specific questions feel free to PM me.

165 would not be an increase, the current MSI class started with 167. The number of MSIs stays fairly constant, somehow the number ends up a little different each year. There has been talk of significantly increasing the class size (15-20 spots) for several years and the new mods were built to accommodate that change when it happens. However, I don't think that expansion will take place anytime soon, those things move slowly.

How many of the 167 are repeating students (I know of at least one)? Last year the admissions website stated there were 162 accepted (website has since been changed, it was the one I posted earlier in this thread).
This is a different site, http://www.oumedicine.com/body.cfm?id=669
which states that it is like you said, not constant.

I know of 3 repeating students - there may be more. You never know those details about your classmates unless they choose to share them - for the most part, you have no idea who was accepted early or late, if they were waitlisted or not, if they had to apply multiple times, or if they are repeating, etc. Which is a good thing, everyone starts out equal.

As an MS2, we started out with 170 in our first year.

Huh. Well, I thought I heard Dr. Baker say it was an increase from 162. Sorry.

About the interview: It was really conversational. I was nervous before it started, but I relaxed once I got in there. Make sure you have good walking shoes on for the tour, though!

Any november offers yet? Nothing here with me yet... sigh

I haven't heard anything about November interviews yet...nor do I know anyone else who has but I am getting anxious!! They sent out Oct. interviews on a tuesday so I'm hoping to hear something tomorrow...

blazingrockets: I do not think they will look at your fall 09 grades because I emailed Dotty to see if I needed to send them my grades from summer classes and she said no that they will only see them when I send in my final transcript next may if i get accepted. The only thing that's bad about your new MCAT score is the 7, that's the lowest score you can get on a section and still apply so I wouldn't be surprised if they ask you about that in your interview. They will probably ask why your score didn't increase just because it's expected too!!

My OU score is 12.01 for Nov. 19th

I have a friend with an 11.72 that got Nov. 20th

My score is 11.85 and I'll be interviewing on November 20th at 8:15 a.m.!

Congrats to everyone!

11.94 20th... seems pretty consistent

Have any OOS's been interviewed? I haven't heard anything yet and I am a little anxious, although I am from Texas and have had interviews there. I am just biased towards OU sometimes since I attend undergrad here.

I think there were a few OOSs at my interview in October. Not sure, though.

For the ones that have already interviewed, how many applicants were there per day

Never mind, just checked my mail...And there was a Big Red Envelope! I'm in!!!!

Accepted! Can anyone tell me for sure if its gonna be pass fail or not?

That's true, and I've met a fair share of people who were reapps and/or waitlistees who have done great in medical school. About the people repeating, I'd guess there's about 5 or so per year, but I think I remember hearing rumors about there being 10 one year.

And new curriculum and pass/fail, don't know. That's the rumor I've heard, but I'm not sure if it's official. They probably don't tell us because we'd be bitter. 😡 All in all, I think it's a positive change.

Probably would of been a good question to ask at the interview. Not being sarcastic, just saying it is a good idea to ask questions like this at that point in time

I did ask that question during the interview and they had absolutely no idea. Ill have to run by the admissions office today anyways. maybe they will have a definitive answer.

Let us know what they say, everything I've seen is yes but they should know for sure

Hey, are the January and February interviews harder than the October and November interviews? And how many people are interviewing for how many spots?? Anyone have a guess?

I've heard yes, but your guess is as good as mine. Around 280 interviews for 160ish spots
