I just came back from traffic school and checked my inbox. So happy to see an interview invite today, sent at 9:35AM ET. I submitted my secondary on 7/6. I'm getting nervous thinking about the interview already lol. Good luck to everyone!

ewww they do interview invites on weekends? I thought weekends were supposed to be our "don't-worry-about-anything-related-to-med-school-because-it's-totally-out-of-your-control-and-nothing-is-going-to-happen-anyway" days?

Yeah I was so confused... and started rereading my essays over again too to figure out what angle you were trying to hit for the interview.
 
anybody getting interview invites before LORs are in?
My committee letters don't send out until early Aug. 👎
 
Man, looking at this thread, the Mayo one, and the UB one makes me sooo depressed, I've gotten zero out of three so far, and no LOR request from Mayo either. I guess I should start check regular mail for the rejection letters. SIgh... No wonder I am having nightmares aobut getting rejected.

Zero for two so far. Three if you count Michigan's auto-invite.🙁

Does Pitts have silent rejection? I've been complete for so long I might have been rejected but it's just silent

They have had your app for less than a month.
 
you guys need to stop freaking out. pittsburg is a top school. they're going to reject a lot of people. i didn't get an interview yet either.

Hey don't worry guys. Those who got interviews are to schedule one from September onwards. So you guys have plenty of time still. They haven't started interviewing yet, they just started sending out invites. I'm sure you'll get one soon.

And according to their interview calendar (which you can view on your supp page after you've been invited for an interview), they don't interview on weekends. Only weekdays--except Thurs.

honestly, applying to med school is like courting a girl. you put yourself out there (apply), and then you give them time to "think about it," and even if they say no the first time (waitlist you/pre-interview hold), they might always change their mind (accept/interview you)

how else are people getting invites on saturday and sunday? the adcom can't possibly be working on weekends this early in the season.

I'm just saying, since I would feel a lot better if I wasn't looked at and that's why I didn't get an interview yet as opposed to being looked at and then not given an interview

Got an interview yesterday evening. Hate to say it but I really doubt it's an auto invite... my stats are pretty average for a place like Pitt. Kind of amazed I received an invite!

How is 3.98/3.94/33 "pretty average"?

eh above 3.8 is about the same to adcoms...don't lose hope blue! I'm in same boat with ya
 
Sorry guys. I didn't mean to come off as someone who isn't grateful for what he has. I just meant that I have the utmost respect for Pitt and would assume that they hand out auto-invites to people well above BOTH their average gpa and MCAT. Something more like >3.9 >38. I am extremely grateful for my invite and wish you guys the best of luck for sure!

Well, I don't think that is the case, I have a 3.9 and I have no invite, so I think its either using both numbers ( only a 32 on the mcat), or it is not an auto invite (which I think is the case). Oh well, I guess this is to be expected, there is prob a rejection mail on its way to my house from PA :scared:
