Accepted!!! I'm oos and interviewed on 8/21.

Accepted today!! 🙂 I'm in-state and I interviewed on 10/17.
What does it mean to "accept this offer?" It says to email Mrs Murphy within the next two weeks. Does accepting the offer mean that I for sure will go there?? What if I'm waiting on hearing from my first choice?

Or if you don't get an acceptance today, you just have to hope for match in Feb?

And can anyone who has been accepted into UTH tell me what time they got it around?

I was verified early Sept with 3.3sGPA/3.5cGPA/33. Still have not received a single invite for interview from TX schools. Is it too late to receive an interview now considering I haven't received any yet?

Yes, Prematch is until Dec 31. If you don't get one by then you will have to do it through the match. Can't help you with that still sitting on the sidelines.:xf:

it's not too late, but I would be working on your application in preparation for applying again next year. get your application in EARLY!
 
Congratulations to those accepted! I'm OOS and hoping UTH extends an offer to me too. I guess I'll have to wait until Feb. How did you find out that you were accepted? Was it email or snail mail?
 
wait oos applicants have to wait till feb to find out their final decision?!
 
I'm oos and I got a phone call/email acceptance yesterday.

Yeah or even later, this is how most of the texas schools seem to work. OOS fill up fast (usually around 23 spots per school), and I think the spots are generally held onto for sometime. If you aren't accepted early on, you are usually in for a long wait.
 
Dr. Kellaway's email said to go check out the incoming students checklist on their website. Anyone managed to find one for 2010 incoming students?

Also, the TMDSAS website says that applicants can start entering match preference and accept/decline pre-match offers on Monday, Nov 16.
 
Just got an in interview!
Very surprised! been done with other interviews since mid-Sept. Thought interviewing was done for me!🙂

what date is your interview for? just trying to get an idea how many dates are left i think dec. 3 5 12 and jan 9 are the last interview dates

Hey Congratz on the interview..What time of the day did you receive it and for what date...Also if you dont mind sharing when you were verified and your stats...Havent heard anything from them 🙁

There stats are on there md apps link. looks like a 29 and 3.8.
i heard houston goes through their applications randomly, not in order of completion date. is this true?

but i would also like to know what date...hopefully there arent fully booked yet. :scared:
 
Hey, yep my mcat is 29 and gpa is 3.82. And I'm OOS (I'm sure you noticed that...) and I'm not sure when I was verified I guess...but I checked my e-mails and it says that the application was sent to schools on the 17th of August. The interview invite was this morning at 10:00 for Dec. 4th.

I was just checking the interview dates available at the UT Houston Admissions website, and apparently Dec. 4th is not listed. Does anybody know if this means that there are more interview dates available than shown on the site?

Yea, I saw that too and got worried it was a type-o on my invite, but I called and they said those dates are actually wrong and are from a year or two ago. They said that they are interviewing on Fridays only, so the next date after the 4th is the 11th.

Yeah, the dates are definitely wrong. My interview was the first week in Aug. I think they got started earlier this year.

For those who didn't get a pre-match right away, I know how you feel. I remember being frustrated like a fat kid at prom, nobody wanted me. Soon enough, maybe match day, someone will ask you to dance! Until then, be cool 😎.

So I still haven't heard from UTH about an interview. I wasn't verified until 9/1 so maybe that is the problem. I am interviewing at Baylor on December 11th, so maybe this won't work since it is the same day as interviews at UTH, but I was wondering: does anyone think it's worth a try to call/email admissions and say that I will be in the area at that time, and if I do happen to be on an invite list, is there any possible way I could schedule to interview near the same day in order to minimize flight costs?

I don't want to sound presumptuous but I think it is valid... Thoughts?

I would for sure email Dr. Kellaway and let her know that you will be there on that Friday, and that you are still interested in UT-H. I don't think that it would hurt your situation at all. UT-H also has morning and afternoon interviews. It's kind of a crazy idea, but there might be the possibility of interviewing in the morning at UT-H and still making it to your Baylor interview by Noon.

The day is full, other than that the answer was pretty vague as would be expected. At least UTH interviews until the middle of January (16th?)... sigh...
 
Anybody else not see UTH show up on the TMDSAS pre-match acceptance page? My other acceptances showed up yesterday but not UTH. Just wondering, Mrs. Murphy said they should show up on Tuesday, this better not be one big trick.

Hey what time do you think people will leave the social... My plane doesn't get in till 830 and I don't think I could be there until 915. Do you think people will still be there?

I usually stay until 11 or so. Depends on how badly I'm losing at darts. By the way, apparently the OMFS guys have a lock on the darts championships. Hmm... maybe I should have gone to dental school first.... NOT!! 🙂 blasphemy, I apologize.

I show up at 7:30 every Thursday and there are always at least 10 people there by 7:45. By 8:30 there's usually 25-30. But army's right, you'll find a max amount of students around 9-930.

Absolutely. It's a great opportunity to get to know and have fun with the rest of your class, professors and second years. It's a big reason, I think, that our student body is so comfortable and cohesive.
