ok, they have one day. if they don't deliver results tomorrow i'm calling their integrity into question. the anxiety is unbearable.
Maybe that's the message that shows up on the website for everyone once they're reviewed, and we're just in the position where they're not able to give us an official update until two weeks from now. Later in the season, they might live up to the "we'll contact you shortly" line.ok, they have one day. if they don't deliver results tomorrow i'm calling their integrity into question. the anxiety is unbearable.
is there a difference between the complete and small pooled status? i am still in the 6-8 weeks and wayyy over it..

FWIW, I have the same message and I heard its a waitlist message. I know some people who have gotten a different message that is a rejection message. Just what I heard through the grapevine. But im usually right 🙂
I called UVM today to inquire about the decisions and Patrick said "as far as I know, they will be sent out today." Oh man... it's gonna be a loooong day

Hmmm... I guess they decided to abide by those stupid rules.
Just thought I'd check out this thread because I was in your guys' shoes last year and I remember the anxiety. I'm a first year now at UVM and I love it. It's an incredible school.
Anyway, I know this won't be popular to hear, but basically the deal for me was that I submitted in the late summer/early fall, and didn't even get to interview until early March. Then, since I was OOS (from California), I got the waitlist (pretty much happens to everyone out of state, and definitely if you're out of New England). I didn't get in until May and after several letters of interest. All in all the whole process took almost a full year. Crazy, believe me, I know. I really almost lost it there a couple of times.
Bottom line: UVM is an outstanding school and I'm soooo grateful to be here, but their admissions process is insanely slow, especially if you're OOS. But don't let that discourage you, and try not to lose your marbles in the process...If you have any questions I can help with let me know.

maybe they do it like that on purpose so us OOSers don't see what it's really like in Vermont in the dead of winter. 😉
I interviewed at UVM and after talking with some members of their adcom, that MS1 is completely right... they waitlist pretty much every OOSer. They want to know that you legitimately want to go to Vermont and that you just didn't add it to rack up another interview. I think that if you truly want to go to Vermont, you'll be able to get in if you just get an interview and send follow up e-mails and such.
Interviewed yesterday, love the school, the area, and the people, interview was so relaxed and stress-free
UVM just moved to the top of my list 😀![]()
I interviewed yesterday too. Loved it. Hate the cost though.
Hey guys-
Could someone please link me to the application status page? I'm having a hard time finding it. Thanks.
I can't believe they make OOS applicants wait so long for an interview. If they are testing my interest as an applicant, I'll be so angry! I paid the application fee, now take me out of the small pool and give me an interview invite!!! 😡

it seemed like the majority of us interviewing on tuesday were OOS.I've heard it takes a long time for OOS people to get an interview. Let's just hope they give each of us a chance to prove ourselves!![]()

you heard wrong.

I have had the "small pool" message for three weeks now. I REALLY would love an interivew, but I guess having a 3.8/3.7 and 29P aren't quite good enough! Has anyone else had to wait an extremely long time to get an invite while being in the small pool???![]()

I'm an OOS applicant and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I know I am competitive at UVM so I anticipate the chance to interview soon!![]()

I'm an OOS applicant and...I know I am competitive at UVM.
Pray tell, how do you 'know' that you are competitive for UVM? As an OOS applicant? Do you live in a neighboring state with some sort of enrollment agreement? Or do you have strong ties to the state?
Only UVM can judge if you are "competitive" for them. This is a damn near impossible school to figure out...
There are actually 20 extra slots in the class allocated to out of state students this year because the program they had with Maine just ended.
That's around when I was complete - Maybe that means they'll finally do something with my application!got the small pool today. complete around 8/25. hoping for the invite!
