Heyyyy, same status for me. As of today. Same day of submission too.

did you guys get an email, or just a status page change? mine still says this:

Criminal Conviction or Adverse Judgment

Parking violations are the only convictions/judgments you are not required to document. Please follow these guidelines:
For speeding tickets: you do not need to list them if they occurred 5 years ago or longer.
If you have received more than three (3) tickets in the past two (2) years, you must submit copies of the documentation of the offenses. Please contact the jurisdiction that issued the tickets to have copies submitted to the Office of Admissions.
Other Convictions: all other convictions/adverse judgments must be listed on the supplemental application and documentation may be required, regardless of the amount of time that has passed. As noted on the Supplemental Application, failure to provide accurate information may provide grounds for disciplinary action, including dismissal or revocation of an offer of admission. Admitted students who enroll at UVM COM will be subject to a criminal background check prior to the start of classes in August 2010.

"It isn't meaningless, according to last year's uvm info there were people rejected post-secondary who did not get this message. It just means we've made it over another hurdle. Also, it seems like a couple of people saw their status change to interview invite a couple of days after seeing this message, so it doesn't necessarily mean you won't be in the first round of interviews."

So it seems like at least we made it through to the next round and have a decent chance at an interview now🙂

I got it this cycle too, so hopefully the result is different this time.

haha seriously! I don't have any interviews yet so I'd like to think this at least counts as an almost interview😛

and linkin, from last years thread it seems like not everyone gets the message (like they reject some people right away without giving them this status), so at least it's a step in the right direction!

fml, i totally missed the traffic ticket thing. And I just got speeding ticket on friday. I guess I have to call them? Does anyone know if those automated speed cameras count cuz i have like 230572135902 of those (DC is treacherous). I don't even know where I could find the record of those....

lol i forsee automatic reject from vermont based on traffic tickets....

The automated speed cameras shouldn't count because they aren't moving violations, i.e. you aren't the one that is actually given the ticket. It's a weird technicality, but that's why you don't get points on your license from them. However, if you submitted before you got that ticket, I would imagine you would be all right. That's only what I believe, not necessarily correct.

No prob. That's the exact reason it doesn't really count. They can give the owner of the car a ticket, but it could have been anyone in your household. Just easy money.

And pilkington, I submitted around a week or less after you and I'm the same as you. It has been a while, so I don't know, but I get the feeling that you'll be fine. An email probably wouldn't hurt. If all of your other schools got the AMCAS letters, then there should be no cause for concern.

oh wow . . . PHEW. i had Vermont on my list originally, then took them off because it's far away and the speeding ticket thing. I just changed my mind and decided to add them after all a couple days ago- forgetting about the speeding ticket thing- and when I came on here and saw you guys talking about it I freaked out.

fortunately, though, it was in 2002 or something so I guess I am off the hook. I better be careful not to get any more though!

About the speeding tickets....what if I got my only ticket in Quebec, Canada. It never showed up on my insurance, but I'm from MA and I don't think Quebec and MA has an agreement to share speeding ticket info...how do they find this out anyways...it doesn't show up on your CBC does it???

Looks like yours is a step ahead of mine- since I submitted (several weeks ago, late July) it's just been the same message about needing 4-6 weeks to verify receipt of all materials. Congrats on moving forward!

I have that exact same status. While I'm not 100% sure what it means, I believe that it just means that we have passed a post-secondary screen. Has anybody been rejected after the "preliminary review"?

I don't think anyone on SDN has posted a post-secondary rejection or interview yet. We're either in the "processing 4-6 weeks" status or the "pre-lim screening" status. So it could be either a "hold" or a "you're onto the next stage", but no one knows for sure.

Just a heads up. I checked my status this morning, and my application was on hold because they thought I was missing a non-science letter. They had it, and the issue was resolved over 2 quick emails. If you haven't already, I would check your status.
