i still have the 4-6 weeks thing, and i submitted the first day the secondary came out (exactly one month ago, actually). should i call the office? i don't want to be annoying.

never hurts to call? But they did say 4-6 weeks, personally if it was me id call after 6 but if one call eases the mind why not...if u dont call probably 500 others will lol

haha touche. in my defense, i wasn't actually going to call, i was just entertaining the thought. i swear, i'm not like that! (but it is super annoying that it took them so long to a) send out their secondary, and b) process it, when there were no essays or anything.)

Don't worry, I submitted around the same time, u'll get an update soon. I received mine without any email warning. And most people here seem to have received the same message about being "small pooled"

Vermont is slow. And seemingly randomized in their process of 'completing' application. No idea why, but dont worry 🙂

Last year my friend got rejected without being small-pooled.

Last year I had the "preliminarily under review" message for MONTHS. I finally contacted them in the Spring, promptly received the small-pool message, then was rejected in a week.

Yea I think so too 🙁 But you would think they would phrase the "hold message" differently so you wouldn't get too optimistic.

May I ask when all you secondary-recipients were verified? I submitted 7/8, was verified 8/12, and I still haven't received a secondary... I hear UVM moves slow, I'm just a bit anxious because it's my #1 choice. :S

Is that only a requirement for people doing their letters on their own?

correct. generally, committee letter/packet trumps the schools' individual letter requirements.

Holy crap, the coldest it got in AZ last winter was probably 45 degrees. I dont know how I would handle something like that. I'm looking forward to a little cold, but thats pretty serious

The whole cold thing is totally dependent on your personality, really. I'm from Baja, cold before I came out here was like 60 degrees. Just put on a sweater and stop whining and you'll be fine anywhere in New England.

Quite Possibly...I was visiting a friend up in Burlington during the winter and the weather really dipped when a front moved through (-11 deg. F with wind chill) Bring a nice sweater and a space heater 🙂

The summers, however, are quite nice.

cost of living isn't so bad... then again, i'm used to nyc 🙂 maybe check wikipedia to get a sense of people's incomes, etc.?

they don't salt the roads in vermont, they throw dirt on them. yay 4x4 cars.

that's what's annoying-- i'm not late! i sent in my secondary the day of. and now people who sent it in after me are complete. i have no idea what order they're reviewing apps in.
