On the wait list as well. I am glad they at least liked me that much.

I interviewed October 13th. I'm an in-stater, working in a lab at UVM for the last two years, so lots of research experience, some publications, presentations at conferences and a Master's Degree. That said my undergrad GPA slightly was below the mean (not by much). MCAT 30 Q.
Woo Hoo for me, Woo Hoo for Vermont. Good luck to all. I never post here but its been helpful to read other posts from the wings.

Rejected post-interview. Had really good interview and very high stats, good ECs, etc.

Glad I had fun in Burlington! 🙂

Also, I should add I had really great interview here and rejected and horrible interview at another school and accepted. I heard this happens very often, but didn't believe it until now.

waitlisted OOS.

do we have to send a letter that we wish to remain in consideration or are we automatically kept in the waitlist until the first day of classes?

Thanks OOS waitlisters

Is a "pool of applicants from which an interview may be extended" the same thing as the "small pool" that everyone keeps talking about?

Yeah. Took them forever to give me that message.

I really, really, really hope it turns into an interview.

id love to go snowboarding in vermont if i get an interview...
i could really use the stress relief.

to everyone who was small pooled today, when were you complete? i'm still playing that awesome waiting game...

you are automatically kept on the waitlist until the class is filled!

UVM seems odd in the way they handle applications. I was complete 10/7 and small pooled 10/30. Just thought I'd throw that out there for the people still waiting.

A number of schools seem to do things in a very non-chronological manner. Not sure if they triage applications right from the start or do them randomly or what. It makes me want to work on an adcom when I'm in med school... just to figure out how they actually work this thing...

I've been stuck in the small pool for a few weeks too now (applied late July). Hopefully I'll make it out sometime soon. Should I be worried if I applied with a 36R 3.75 undergrad 3.85 grad GPA and haven't been offered an interview yet? I'm not even sure if this is getting late yet... I hope they haven't filled most of the OOS slots yet.

I'm in the exact same situation as you (but with worse stats). I'm pretty sure this is just a school that takes its time. They interview through April, so I highly doubt they've filled most of their slots. There have been a number of schools where I have been complete for 2-3 months and figured I was out of the running, and then an interview invite popped up out of the blue. So it does happen.

next week it'll be 16 weeks since i submitted my application here, that's twice the 6-8 week status in case they are 2 diff versions of it, c'on vermont thats not a nice way to treat an applicant!! 😏

everyone needs to chill. Its nov 11! 😀. Most of their slots are NOT filled.

OOS qualified applicant wait list.

Anyone know around what percentage of these people get acceptances?

lol yesterday i got two waitlists and then got stung by a wasp! But I'm more optimistic than ever. 😉

Small pooled today - finally. Guess I should be happy about this? At least its not a rejection?

for those of you that have had a decision made (either waitlisted, accepted or rejected) recently, when did you interview?

IS. Interviewed Oct 6th. Accepted Nov 9th.

Hey I interviewed on Oct 6th! Probably met you there. I haven't heard anything yet though... 🙁

you should check the on-line center. They don't give out waitlist information on e-mail. good luck:luck:

has anybody received an interview invite from the small pool lately? I wonder if/when are we going to see some movement

Does anyone know if UVM offers international clerkships during the third and fourt years, if so, can anyone point me to info on the website?

I couldn't find anything on the website, but they did talk about it during the presentation on interview day, many sites available across the globe

Mine still just says
"We hope that you enjoyed your interview at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and that you were able to learn more about our school, curriculum and life in Burlington.

Your file will now be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and you will be notified in the coming weeks regarding the final decision of the committee."

Not sure what the deal is... Maybe I'll call them on Monday.

Withdrew pre-interview. Good luck everyone!

Waitlisted via status page. OOS interviewed on 10/22

Hey guys, FWIW I was waitlisted initially as well. I drafted and sent a letter explaining how impressed I was with the school and how I would love to go there on the day I was waitlisted and got accepted a week later.

Cool. Yeah even the tour guides told us that OOS people got auto-waitlisted - did you send your letter snail mail or email?

I'm hoping for an outright acceptance, but if I'm put on the waitlist it is good to have a plan that seems to work out for people who really want to go to UVM

So I've had this status for quite a while:

"You are within a pool of applicants from which an interview may be extended."

Is this the small pool everyone seems to be talking about? 😕

yep

I interviewed last year at UVM in March, got waitlisted and eventually rejected in August. The students who ate lunch with us and gave us a tour said that almost everyone they knew had been waitlisted post-interview at some point. Some people get waitlisted for one day, then are accepted the next. For others, they hang on the waitlist for a little while. So UVM cycles almost everyone through the waitlist, some get accepted some don't, but most get waitlisted at some point.

How small is this small pool? Seems to be a lot of people on it. I got an interview last year from the pool of applicants so it is definitely a good place to be. Hope I get a shot at UVM again this year. It really is a great school.

i wonder if 100% of the "early" waitlisters get an acceptance...by early i mean waitlisted by december.:luck::luck::luck:

i was complete 09/08 and got put on hold for an interview (small pool i'm guessing) today. i think i'll send a letter of interest, though sounds like this is routine for them.

good luck to everyone!

i kind of have the impression they place a lot of oos students there for the time being but i might be wrong. i know other oos people have been accepted but maybe for those further away (i'm from california) they're going to wait and see how much you want to go vermont.

good luck all
