Also, any idea when the next round of calls will go out? (I'm also assuming no one 10/13 or later has gotten one yet...?)
Probably the most neurotic thing I've read on this site, haha. No, it won't.
interviewed in the first week of oct. and didn't get a call yesterday 🙁 is there hope for a call today?
Same boat here. Who knows? I was expecting the calls for this week to come out on Tuesday, but it doesn't look like they call any more often than every 2 weeks.
Unless Sunday afternoon calls are anomalies and they will continue to resume the schedule on Tuesday.![]()
I got the call today...
Good luck! I interviewed 10/6, I wonder if we met...
boo no call, interviewed first week of october. i guess it's time to start writing a letter of interest...unless they decided to reject me
CONGRATS! I'm very happy for you!! 🙂
I have my interview scheduled with Dr. David Charles. Has anybody had his/her interview with him?
Haha, stripper dancing all up on this man (the one I'm quoting below) and him not giving her any attention at all. What is going on in your avatar? 😛
I got the waitlist letter today as well.![]()
yikes, i guess im just waiting for mine to come on the west coast. if we were to send update/interest letters, would we address it to the adcom in general or to the dean?
I'm assuming Dr. Pat Sagan. She's the director of admissions and is usually the middle-person between applicants and the admissions committee. Her email address is on their website if you don't have it already.
I got my letter today. I'm supposedly going to be reconsidered throughout the cycle, although I don't really know how many people actually do get accepted if they don't get in soon after their interview. Is this their version of the "waitlist" letter that others have reported receiving? 😕
I interviewed first week of Oct. and didn't get call or mail. Does this mean there is still hope?
Me neither. They mentioned that b/c 3 members review a single applicant, if all 3 are not all available at the weekly (or however often) meeting, then a decision is not made on that particular applicant. I think that's what I heard.
So yes, there is still hope.
Did anyone send letter of interest post-interview but pre-decision?
Somewhat unrelated, but do you need a car at Vandy?
When does Vanderbilt's interview season end? I applied in early November and will I have any chance of getting an invite?
I know of two people in my class without cars. It is therefore doable, however I would certainly not recommend it. I live within walking distance of the school, so I don't need it for that. Going most anywhere else requires a car though. Public transport is not one of Nashville's strong points.Somewhat unrelated, but do you need a car at Vandy?
The latest date I know of that's been notified was 10/6, and they received the call on 11/15. Vandy calls every two weeks, so it'll either be this upcoming Sunday or Tuesday. I'm not sure if 10/22 would get reviewed in this next batch though.Anyone from 10/22 group received the letter or call yet?
Hey guys,
1. I was wondering, what difference will it make if i interview on December 10th vs. January 12th in the context of admissions decisions....am I at a disadvantage?
2.
Also, can someone offer their opinion on deciding to fly in on the same the day and leave after (this is mostly for financial reasons....I would still arrive 1 hr 15 mins prior to my scheduled interview)
thanks
1. since vandy is rolling, yes, a month is a disadvantage.
2. if you truly believe there is no way your flight will get delayed, then sure. And a couple people left for the airport right after. you could stay with a student host the night before. it's free!
I would like to send an interest/update letter soon. Only problem is I have nothing to update them with unless you consider continuing AMCAS activities and being in position for a 4.0 this semester an update. I don't want to wait until semester grades, that might be too late. It also seems that everyone waitlisted sends a letter, so it demeans the process.
Any suggestions?
I don't know. I wrote my letter this week, though. I have no idea if it's going to help. I had three things to update them on: 1) my research (which I did at Vanderbilt) got accepted as a poster at a conference, 2) I got a job teaching OChem for Princeton Review, and 3) I was heavily involved in a club on campus this semester. I also turned it into a letter of intent at the end, so hopefully they'll throw me a bone. Who knows. I'll probably email it tomorrow. Anybody know if that's interesting enough stuff for an update letter?
Anyone got the call today? If noone got the call maybe it's going to be on Tuesday.. so anxious to find out
Last round people from 10/6 got the call, so adding two weeks to that, maybe dates up until 10/20?which dates are you expecting to call to go out to?
