Does anyone know how long is the VCU interview season is?

Thanks! You will. 🙂 It was totally unexpected. I pretty much gave up on VCU in my mind. I stopped reading this thread because it would lower my spirits to see other oos ppl get invites when I was was complete before them. But I'm here to tell you, wait on it. It happened for me and it can happen for you.

I was complete like....late sept? I got the #2 status (we are interested in your candidacy) like a week ago and invite last night...
 
The Admissions Committee has met to discuss your file. Your application is being placed on hold for action at a later date. We anticipate making offers October 16, December 15, February 1, and March 16.

Does this mean that i will hear something on December 15th, or at least maybe hear something or does it mean that I am not getting an invite for the class on the december 15th date and have to wait till feb 1. Does anyone know? I felt that everything went very well. Since Dec 15th isnt hear yet I am hopefull that this means they have met and made a choice and that they just are not releasing it untill Dec 15th. Thoughts?

Yeah you'll hear on Dec 15. A decision has been made for your file to not reject and on Dec 15, you'll either be waitlisted or accepted. Good luck!
 
Alright everyone I got a room booked less than half a mile from Sanger Hall, let me know if you want in! (double suite room, will be $56). Dec 13

Leon, all that means is that you have been discussed and given a priority score already. So, you *may* get an acceptance in december if your score is good (low) enough.

The AdCom meets and scores each candidate. Scores range from 1 (best candidate) to 5 (worst candidate). All the scores from the adcom are taken and averaged. This average is your score. Everything over a 3.5 is an automatic rejection.

The way that things have worked at MCV in the past is that offers are only given out at certain dates- Around mid Oct, Dec, Feb and March. Each of those dates will have a cut off score. If your score is below it you get accepted, if it is above it you will be part of the pool of applicants up for consideration at the next date.

Example:Let's say your score is a 1.9 and October's cut off may be below a 1.5, Dec's 1.6, Feb's a 1.7 and March's a 2.0. You would hear nothing in October b/c your score is too high. Same thing for Dec and Feb. However, in march your score is good enough and you will get in.

Not at all, that is a great sign! I got that status about a week and a half ago, and received an invite on Thursday. You should be up very soon! 🙂

Ahh it's almost here! I really hope this waiting pays off for all us who have been dying to get into vcu! I don't think I can hold my breath for much longer...:scared::xf::xf:

Ughhhh I'm so anxious! I really hope I get some good news in 8 days. I'm IS and I was waitlisted at EVMS last week :d
 
I recieved the MAY status on Nov 16 and haven't heard anything since. Should I send an update letter and/or call them?

Anyone NOT get a status update since your interview? i.e. still lists your interview time/information.

IS/OOS? Approximate time frame of your interview?

Just curious... had an interview quite some time ago and haven't heard a thing. From what I understand it's not a bad thing... I'm not worried - just was curious to compare other people in the same situation.

I had my interview on Dec 1st. No update, still list my interview time, OOS, etc.

I didn't follow my own directions... I'm IS and had mine in October... Hopefully we'll have good news soon right? Good luck

im trying not to get my hopes up too high but cant help it, it would be awesome to have an acceptance before the new year but who knows!! i wish they would tell us already.. good luck everyone its almost time 😉:luck:

With my stats, most I can hope for on Dec 15 is a hold/waitlist spot. I hope I get one

obviously I'm hoping for some good news, but right now I'm really just trying to get through finals in one piece, lol. It's nice to have something to keep your mind occupied.

i think it was a week for me but some people didn't hear until couple days before the day they got accepted! good luck 🙂
 
I didn't get in on the last acceptance date, but here's hope to this upcoming one! Come on VCU!

Yeah, I'm with you on that one. I think we will be safe if we don't get rejected on Monday when the AdCom meets again.
