Ain't that the truth? Nope, no acceptances yet - so getting my first and to my #1 with still so much time left in the waiting game would be just amazing! Have you gotten in anywhere yet OneMCATAway?

nope! im in the same boat, i was counting on vcu to be my first but now im not so optimistic! we'll see maybe they'll surprise us nxt monday :luck:

can you guys tell me which aspects of vcu excite you the most? i'm hearing on feb 1, too, and i'd like to hear from you guys.

location (i really liked it), tuition for oos is cheaper than most privates (coming from a place like ca where gettin into a uc is tough, thats a big plus), great step 1 scores with due to a lot of good resources for prep here, class times arent very long compared to some schools, great match rates, research opportunities seem easily accessible, etc lol.

i know the same can be argued for other schools but it was also just the feel i got here - i loved it. everyone seemed very friendly and the facilities/buildings looked nice.

oh, and good luck to all of us!! :xf:

+1. They were my first interview and I was so excited because VCU has always been in my top 3. When my interview went well and I wasn't rejected after committee review, I got really excited. Now that we're less than a week away from the results though, and I just got wait-listed somewhere else where my interview went really well, I'm feeling a bit discouraged.

That being said, 6 days!

i was pretty heartbroken at the last announcement when I was left on hold for later review and looks like there're now only about 6 days left to the next round of potential heartbreak/joy 🙂. how time flies..... I interviewed at another school this past wednesday as well though. this waiting game is no fun.

OneMCATaway, do you truly think we're waitlist bound? Maaan ireally hope not! But I really don't know how likely it is to get accepted on your second decision date post interview. Oh well... Feb. 1st i'm waiting with fingers crossed!
 
this is my third announcement date post interview, so if you feel as though you're at some sort of a loss this round...then i'm hopeless 🙂 lol. things could always be worse though!

im leaning towards that mostly because i dont wanna disappoint myself again 😛

but im starting to get a little bit hopeful as we get closer for two reasons 1. there is a possibility that they need to accept more as people drop their acceptances or the priority number raises for this round or in march, and 2. because it seems they have been interviewing less and less unless people dont post as much these days

so bottom line who knows, we should all keep our fingers crossed but if it doesnt happen in 5 days i guess its not the end of the world just getting close to it loll good luck ya'll :luck:
 
They said that they interviewed 900 people this year. I guess everyone is not as chatty as previous years. Any IS ppl waiting for Feb 1st here? Im super anxious hoping for good news:xf:

Yep, I'm in-state and awaiting February 1. I interviewed mid-January.
 
In-state and waiting. Interviewed in December. I'm hoping all the same people applied to all the Virginia schools so even if I get wait-listed at all of them, hopefully one will pick me up in the end!

Though I can't count on getting wait-listed at UVA, as they haven't offered me an interview yet...lol.

Does anyone know how many offers they make in total to instate students. I know there are 110 IS seats, but I was just wondering if anyone knew on average how many offers they send. 3 more days :scared:

VCU/MCV does admissions a little differently than most schools. VCU will never have more acceptance offers than there are slots. So when one person turns down the offer another prospective is chosen to fill that slot. This is why there is a lot of movement on the waitlist and why it is next to impossible to answer your question. Sorry!
 
sighs, just got placed on hold. im probably a goner. does anyone know what % of those placed on holds can proceed to waitlist?

when did you interview? it's perfectly normal to get placed on hold prior to the acceptance dates simply because they can't tell you that you're in sooner. if you weren't rejected post-interview, you have a pretty decent chance at at least getting on the wait list.

😀😀 last time i thought it was dec 15th i took the day off and it ended up not being the day now as a coincidence i have tomorrow off again which means i could either sleep in like last time to let the day go by faster or forget about it all together and expect that empty inbox to remain empty.. im going to try the second option! good luck ya'll :luck:
 
there was a snow storm there so they could be closed tomarrow. I know the public schools there are closed. We might have to wait till tuesday.

I did my post-bacc work at VCU undergrad, and I still get text alerts from their system. I can't speak with any certainty about whether the admissions office will be in tomorrow, but I just got a text that said VCU will be closed tomorrow and classes are canceled. See the below site for details. It sounds like we will not hear anything tomorrow, as all offices are closed.

Don't know. Last time (December 15) they had computer problems that made it a day late. If they are not in the office, I would not get too upset if you don't get an update tomorrow.

Nothing else... that said I have seen a leather notebook carrier for taking note out on the interview circuit. I don't think it makes much a difference one way or the other. Why, are you thinking about bringing?

Not to burst anyones bubbles, because I know I want to hear something good tomorrow, as in an acceptance, but this just came in my email

To the VCU and VCU Health System Communities:
Due to continuing hazardous driving conditions caused by the weekend snow storm, the university is closed Monday, Feb. 1 and is observing plan 1. Classes on both the Monroe Park and MCV Campuses are canceled. All faculty, staff and administrative offices are closed.......

Lets hope its automated.
 
In spite of that post about the school being closed M3s almost had to go anyway. They finally changed their mind and cancelled school for everyone late last night. So there might be some staff at school, but there might not. Sorry, you guys have a 50:50 shot of the acceptance happening today. You could try calling the admission office just to see if anyone is there.:luck:

I just called... they are open and still plan on sending out decisions tonight around 6 PM EST.

Did you have the post-interview survey status page or "we have met to review your file..." hold page before the announcement?

Or could anyone else still waiting answer this question?
