I thought these points were important, as someone asked about the Scholarly Concentration Program, and even though I'm not happy about a tuition increase, I have to remember that it's still a lot cheaper than any of the other schools I could have attended (which were out of state).

It's definitely still a fantastic bargain. Just didn't want anyone to be surprised when they get their bill and it's a little higher than they were expecting.
 
so what is it at now? about 13K?
 
So about an hour ago UTH's twitter said : "Our last interview day is tomorrow, you will get an e-mail or a phone call if we invite you. Good luck!"

Does that mean they're really still inviting with less than 24 hours before the interview? That seems pretty crazy!

People have been just not showing up to interviews since prematch acceptances started. A few times now they've had to call people morning-of to offer interviews.

That seems even crazier (and disrespectful) that someone wouldn't show up. I guess there's still hope for me:xf:

well, no. you'll match at your pre-match school unless you match to a higher ranked school, in which case you'll automatically forfeit your prematch acceptance and will accept the higher-ranked, matched school

you seem to know what you are talking about so I have a question 🙂

Say I prematched to school B* and want to actually go to school A*. During the Match, I put school A* is my no. 1 and school B* as no. 2. Will I drop my acceptance to school B* if I get wait listed at A*? As in, will my prematch go away to B even if A doesn't 'accept me' but only wait lists me? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

No, you will keep your prematch unless you match higher.
 
This might be a dumb question, but how are we notified of our acceptance on match day?

Does each school or TMDSAS email us, or do we need to check the TMDSAS website?

i think that the schools find out who matches at the same time applicants do. you should find your match on TMDSAS first, then expect an email from the school later in the day.

Yeah I checked TMDSAS around 8:15am to see my match, then got an email from UTH mid-morning.

Last year there was a glitch in TMDSAS where people would log on at 8am and it would say they didn't match, but would subsequently change to show that they did match somewhere. Or it would say an individual matched to their #2 school, then change to their #1 school. Let's hope that doesn't happen again this year- people were so sad!
 
If we pre-match, will it show up on TMDSAS that we "matched" (if we pre-matched at our #1 choice)? Also, will we get the "match" email from the school?

yeah, it will tell you you matched there if you're keeping a prematch at your #1.

I can't recall if I got an additional email on match day.
 
People who were interested in a reapplicant workshop:

Please email Amanda Magel ([email protected]) to express your interest in the workshop. They are considering having a workshop but have not decided if they'll have one yet. Letting them know your interest will allow them to contact you if/when they decide to do it.
 
Is there any specific date by which it is best to submit the fafsa? I know the sooner the better, but whats sooner and whats later?

I was told to wait for your w-2's to come in (if you have them). Rumor is this may be the first year they match Fafsa with your actual Tax filings.
 
Question from a friend; Is UTH interview open file or closed file?
 
No, but i called them and they confirmed that it was received.
 
They didn't send me any sort of confirmation.

I know there's a partnership but do ppl do rotations in tirr, i mean what would that fall under pmr? There is no such thing as a pmr rotation is there?

I have classmates doing preceptorships there right now. Several have also done research there.

I'm sure you could do an elective in PM&R if that's something you're interested in doing.

So, on Tuesday do we get an email from TMDSAS, the Medical School we are matched at, or just log on to TMDSAS to find out?

For current UTH Students:

Did y'all buy the REQUIRED text books for any classes or did you just use the syllabi. Are the textbooks needed?

Disclaimer: not a student but work at UTH/with MS1/2s.

From what I hear everyone just uses the syllabi and gets books from big bro/sis
 
I will be scribing tomorrow when match shows up as well. I will kiss the first sick ass patient I see if I get into UTH!

Matched UT Houston. Will be accepting. Took me eleven interviews till I found a school I loved. Glad they loved me back. Are the bars still open?
 
If you got matched with the #2 pick, do we get notified if we are waitlisted at the #1?
 
I was expecting for this board and the FB group to explode today, but so far I only see a couple new acceptances. Congrats to all the new acceptances! See yall soon.
 
i wish i could say i am one of those accepted, however, i got my #2 school - I also would like to know how do we find out about wait list vs. completely rejected?
