Haven't heard anything about January 7th interview invites.

But you are correct, you need an interview to a school to participate in the match for that school.

I don't know, but I know one other person who also got an interview for that date.

And you have to have attended the interview before being able to rank the school.

You can only rank schools you interview at, so the answer is yes.
 
Just got my acceptance email a couple hours ago! So excited! Didn't think I would hear back until February with the match eventhough I'm OOS cause that's what they told us on interview day! Keep hope alive. I just interviewed less than a month ago and thought I was out of the running because it was so late! 😀 Best of :luck: everyone!
 
Woke up from my post-genetics final nap to find a prematch offer in my email today!

Sent @ 1:35pm.

I interviewed November 5th and they didn't really tell us anything about prematch except their normal 10% stat, but they didn't mention if we'd be getting considered for spots as we were interviewing so close to the nov 15th date. I figured i just didn't get one but this is amazing! I'm so psyched 🙂
 
Just got my prematch offer! Interviewed Oct 15th...definitely did not expect this and it makes my decision so much more difficult 😕
 
Anyone know if interview invites are still being given out?
 
I don't know what the last interview date is. Since we got off to a late start this year, I'd imagine we'll be going for a while still.

I got an interview for Jan 7th. In the TMDSAS website, it says we have to have all the schools ranked by Jan 10th.
 
I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I do believe we were interviewing people past Jan 10 last year. I think that you basically end up on the waitlist if you interview after that date.

I don't know this for sure so don't hold me to it. I'm just speculating.

The last interview date last year was January 8th- I was here for a second look that day. And we had until January 15th to submit our rankings.

As far as I know, the only school that kept interviewing up until and even after the match was TCOM. But, armybound knows a lot more about the "goings-on" in the admissions office than I do, so we very well might interview after January 10th.

The best thing to do would be to call the admissions office and ask.

I sent my LOI to Dr Gleason and Love but apparently Love's email sends it as undeliverable. I called them and they said they do not accept LOI's from those who they did not invite for interview and they do not have files for them. So that means if you did not get an invite, your file is already trashed. Also there are very contradictory experiences from different people since some people who have sent their LOI's have had replies to theirs alteast at Texas A&M where I sent one too and was told they do not accept updates or LOI's past October 1st but others have sent and theirs has been accepted. UTH and texas A&M do not even respond. how rude, anyways this whole process is so random and its always where you know somebody that is the place you will get in reagrdless of your achievements or your qualifications.
 
your file is not trashed, they jut aren't accepting new information for it yet. they can still invite you for an interview, and if they do they will then accept the LOI.

From what I've seen, the only people who have received responses to their LOIs from A&M sent theirs in a few months ago and are only now hearing back.
 
One of my best friends (who has not been interviewed) sent an LOI to UTH about 3 weeks ago and received a response that it was received and would be added to his file. I think all-in-all they do the best they can to respond to everything they receive but the application process leaves them with quite a bit to keep up with. Try not to take it personally, I'm sure the non-response is definitely not intentional rudeness.

Do you know if he emailed it to admissions or snail mailed it?

Do you happen to know when there is an reapplication workshop with UTH? I read in last year's application thread about it but couldn't find the dates. I e-mailed admissions but have not received a reply yet.

The office of admissions sent out these tweets yesterday and today:

"We cannot give out status updates, but please know that we are still inviting for our last 2 interview days 🙂 So keep checking your e-mail!"

"Our last Interview day is now January 7th, please note we are still inviting so be checking your e-mail!"

I received a prematch from UT Houston last Monday (12/6), but still haven't received the packet in the mail. Has anyone else who prematched recently received the packet?

I'm sure I'm just being paranoid, but it's always nice to have the actual papers in hand!

Don't worry, I didn't receive mine for almost two weeks - Nov 15th- Nov 26th!
 
I just received a pre-match offer today at 4:30 (CST). I interviewed December 3. I'm surprised because they told us that no one from our interview date would be receiving a position via pre-match.
 
ACCEPTED ALSO!!!! I can't believe it! I had my mind set on UTMB and now I have options!
 
I am soo excited. My prematch offer email was the best early Christmas present ever. UT Houston is my first choice! Woohoo UTH class of 2015!

Top choices are Vandy, Baylor, Michigan, and Mayo (which I haven't been accepted to). We'll have to see how finances shake out.
 
i guess lots of us will be paying for med school with loans. For those of you already enrolled in UTH, when and how did you start applying for loans? And do your loans cover all of your tuition and living expenses?

Good question. I guess I'll take out a loan when they let us know when we need to have a deposit down.

financial aid will send you a packet in june or july telling you how to get loans and how much you need. Loans are offered that will more than cover your expenses. I think around 33k are available
 
I got accepted via email this morning at 9am!
Best gift ever as its my top choice!

Can't wait to part of the 2015 class!!!!!!

4th round of prematch offers from UTH? Anyone else a little surprised? I wonder if they are moving away from the 10% figure or if they are only giving out... 10 or so each time?
