Hey guys, I am pretty confused...my TMDSAS was just certified a few days ago, and I literally just got an interview invite from UTSW. However, I haven't even submitted a secondary to them yet! 😕

Was the invite a mistake, or am I expected to submit a secondary before the interview... or what?! I am so confused.

Still submit the secondary! You probably got an interview based on your stats -- UTSW sends out auto invites.

I did the Friday program today. I loooooooove this school. If you get an interview invite then definitely participate. It was a great experience. Now it's on to my "conversation" tomorrow. (They said "conversations not interviews" are what will take place 🙂)

What are the criteria for their auto invites? I have interviewed at all the other texas schools - 32O, 3.6 overall - 3.95 science. My application was complete in July - but I have not heard from them

I think I saw somewhere that you need both a 35 and 3.7? I may be wrong though...

Supposedly it's 3.7/32 GPA and MCAT. However, I don't believe it's "automatic" per se. If so, then those cutoffs are definitely not what they use.

I am pretty much the opposite only UTSW and TTech and none of the other schools, complete in September with 3.5/35. The whole thing is a mystery + dice roll.

It appears we are on the same boat, I have interviews at UTSW, UT-Houston, and Tech (lubbock) and I transmitted 9/8. So Random.

Southwestern's Dean came and spoke at my undergrad institution and he said any Texas resident with a 32/3.7 gets an interview invite.

I transmitted 9/30 with 31Q an 3.89 cgpa and 3.81 sgpa. UTSW is the only school ive interviewed with so far haha. I haven't even gotten invites from other texas schools at this point. I'm starting to get worried...

considering you transmitted pretty late in the game and still managed to get an interview at UTSW is pretty awesome. your stats are good, I wouldn't worry too much.

does anyone know if there is any way for interviewees to bring their luggage to the school and store it away until the end of the day? my hotel checkout is at 12pm on saturday, and i was hoping not to have to pay for another day to keep my luggage there.... thanks guys!!

I'm sure that you can store it somewhere, probably in the Student Center. That's the last part of the interview (tour of the Student Center) so you can pick it up after.

As far as cabs, they're all basically the same price, though we usually use Cowboy cabs http://www.cowboycab.com/

lol, i second this rocketman! i know the hotel i'm staying at has a shuttle to the school, but i need to find transportation from DFW to the hotel and back to the airport after interviews!

im there with you.
cant even remember when i transmitted (late late late though), with a 34R and 3.88 gpa.
utsw and utmb are my only interview spots so far.... and it sucks to have to miss school to fly back home for these things.

Does anyone know if pre-match starts exactly on the 15th (Monday)? Last year they were given on Friday the 13th since the 15th was a Sunday.

In early November I interviewed at UT Southwestern as an OOS, but I don't recall hearing anything about the # of OOS people they've already accepted. According to the SDN forums from the last cycle, they had accepted about 23 in late October.

Anyone know how many OOS have been accepted to date?

If not, would someone who is attending any of their information sessions (likely in conjunction with an interview) mind asking this and posting the answer?

Yes, you have a chance to be pre-matched, just not on November 15th. Pre-match offers are given out from November 15th to December 31st, with the majority being given out on November 15th. I believe it takes a week to evaluate an applicant after they've interviewed (that is, to decide whether they will be accepted or not), so that is the reason why you wouldn't be eligible for the November 15th pre-match, but you could be pre-matched any time over the proceeding month and a half, I guess from 11/20 to 12/31.

Keep in mind this is just the way I interpreted what I read/ what was said to me by ad coms, so I could have missed something or misinterpreted something.

Last year acceptances went out around late October for OOS, but has any OOS gotten an acceptance yet? Or am I waiting like other OOS people to hear back?

I'm also an OOS applicant that interviewed at UTSW on Oct. 2nd--still no word for me either. I have a couple friends that were also OOS applicants here last year. They all heard around Halloween, but it seems UTSW is not contacting OOS people early this year like last.
