I suppose that makes sense that they wouldn't turn away all other Idaho applicants simply because the 8 spots were filled up. Although I am guessing that any of the applicants who do not get the 8 spots do not get in-state tuition either which would be a major bummer. Nonetheless, it would be a tremendous opportunity to attend Utah Med 🙂 so it would be worth it!

Any idea when interviews conclude exactly at the U. Im just wondering it seems ppl who interviewed with me are getting notices, although rejections, I haven't gotten anything which I hope is good news since they said March would be where most ppl find out. Btw interviewed 11/18 oos.

If you don't mind me asking did you just find out today that you got accepted? Did they not send you an email or anything?

I think it had changed on Friday but I've been out of town until today. I have the Utah app page bookmarked and I over excessively look at it. I took a peak today and at the top of my application on the website said acceptance information. Once I clicked on that it congratulated me and I had options to pay my deposit, background check, grad application, and transcripts for which they gave me dates to complete it by. I think the snail mail will come within the first couple of days this week. I'll let you know when I receive it. If your an Idaho applicant like I am, I believe I'm the first accepted from Idaho so there's still 7 spots left. Any other questions feel free to pm me.
Grats!!! Shout out for Idaho apps! Just had my interview, was really laid back and fun. Facilities were amazing and the group of med students were very friendly....shocked that interview counts as 80% of your admissions score!
Where is it that status is listed? After you log into the supplemental application page should it be there?
It's not really a "status," but if you log into your supplemental application page, then there are links at the top for your "supplemental application," "Driving Directions," "Qualifications for....," "Schedule Interview Form," (if you've been invited to interview) and at the very top of the list it will have a button that says "acceptance information," (again, IF you've been accepted). Then if you click on that link, it takes you to a page with a bunch of different information, and a status that says Congratulations ___(name)_____! Anyways, I was confused (and anxious) too, so I hope that helps!

I am so nervous, I interviewed the first week of December and still have not heard anything.

I'm not a hundred percent sure but I think in the packet they give you at your interview, it says that LOI will be placed in your file but will not be taken into consideration for the admissions decision. I know at UW, if your an Idaho applicant, they definitely consider LOI. I don't know if that's much help or not.

Wait time = aweful!! I interviewed November 3rd and my acceptance letter was dated February 3rd. This was still great of course because I wasn't expecting to hear anything until the end of March! 😱

Congrats, I know what you mean. I interviewed 11/18 and still nothing but I guess this is good and doesn't matter as long as its an acceptance in the end but the wait is killing me slowly. By the way if you don't mind what were your stats and were you in state or out of state?

I haven't received a letter and my online status hasn't changed but I received and completed the background check today. It also stated that this was from a school that has given an acceptance or placed me on a waitlist, has Utah placed anyone on the wait list already?

It's more then likely really good news! I didn't get my background check until after I had been accepted and it was on the "acceptance information" link on my application page. I would think that waitlists wouldn't be made until march but I could be wrong. You could call the admissions office on Monday and ask about it.

Thanks, Confidoc it means alot. Utah has been my only interview and I almost didn't go and really fell in love with the place. Im hoping for good news which I unfortunately think will only come by mail because my online portal is messed up the thing doesn't even say my application is complete haha. Are you heading to Utah next year for sure or still waiting on places? 🙂

Hey! I wish the best of luck to you. Ya, Ive gotten interviews at a few other places but I'm definitely going to the U. I didn't think I wanted to when I applied, but at the interview I fell in love with the campus and the amazing facilities! Plus, the small class of about 82 and instate tuition since I'm and Idaho resident is definitely a plus 🙂. Anyways keep your hopes up and hopefully you'll hear some good news soon!

How did you find out??
Hey everyone,
I've been having trouble logging on, sorry about that. So I found out I was accepted online (secondary app) and I have not received the letter yet. I'm from NM and my stats aren't great so I feel very fortunate to have received an acceptance. mcat <30 , gpa >3.5. Additionally, I interviewed mid December. If you want to know more specifics about my app feel free to ask.
Good Luck, I know it's hard waiting. I'll also update when the letter comes in, hopefully it wasn't an error. ha ha
