This is what it says:

"We hope that you enjoyed your interview at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and that you were able to learn more about our school, curriculum and life in Burlington.

Your file will now be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and you will be notified in the coming weeks regarding the final decision of the committee."

Does it mean anything?

Means they haven't even reviewed it. Which is good, cause its neither a WL or a denial. When they do look at it the status will say "we have come to a decision.... you will be notified soon" and by soon... in 4 weeks. haha

So, it looks like you gotta bit of a wait

Alright, so change of plans, I just had to return my rental, so I am afraid I can't give anyone a ride :-/. But if anyone wants to split a cab, I am coming from the Quality Inn in Colchester, and I'd be more than happy to do that. Also, for anyone interviewing tomorrow or for any current students finishing up exams, let's go celebrate together on Church Street tomorrow night! Let me know what you guys think. 🙂
 
Interview invite today! Although it's for the first of February, which like over 2 months from now. But hey an interview is an interview! I am a firm believer that UVM is extremely receptive to continued interest as I have been calling about once a month since I was complete as well as sent in an update. I called again today and got the invite 20 min later 😱

When were you complete? I was complete early September and am still waiting to hear back from my preliminary review...I should give them a ring and ask what my status is...

Your on all the same threads I puruse, that's funny. I loved UVM. It is my #1 choice. I interviewed back in late September and am still waiting to hear. The interview is super conversational, even more than DMU I thought. Good luck. Did you interview at UIC? I'm heading there in Jan!

Congrats AutumnChild! Question for you .. do you remember who you spoke to at the Admissions Office? And what they told yoU?

I've called twice for updates, and spoken to a Shawna (sp?) both times. She ws really nice, though unfortunately both times just said I was small pooled and apologized that there wasn't a change. Is that what they told you? And do you remember how many times you called in? Gah this seems like such a great school . .I don't want to be stuck in the small pool forever 🙁

Just interviewed today! Very enjoyable experience! Everyone at UVM is really cool and so pleasant! Hope everyone else enjoyed/enjoys their time as well. 🙂 If anyone is still in town, or if any of you first years who just finished exams wanna go celebrate, I'll probably be on Church street tonight...PM me, the email will go straight to my phone. See yaaaaaaaa

Hmm...I don't remember exactly when I was complete but it was sometime in early August I wanna say.

Hey rocketman! I guess we just picked a lot of the same schools, huh? Maybe we're destined to be classmates or something lol. I haven't interviewed at UIC yet, that's actually next Tuesday...eeek!! If you have questions about the city b4 ur interview, let me know and i'll try to help 🙂

I think I spoke to Tiffany? Every time i have called before they tell me that it's just a waiting game and there's really not much I can do, but they do make a note in your file saying you called expressing interest. I would highly suggest sending in any updates to them as well. According to previous posts either on last yrs thread or this i don't remember, if you show enough interest there is a high chance they'll pull you for an interview. I think it's true.
 
Interviewed here with Tomato1 on Tuesday. I really enjoyed it despite the weather. Everyone was really friendly and all of the students seemed like they really enjoyed the school. So many of them stopped to talk to us as we waited and were touring. That really stood out to me because my other interview wasn't like that. They were cordial but the students at UVM seemed to go out of their way to help you and answer questions. Great atmosphere.👍

At our interview, they said the committee would be meeting the first full week of december.

when I called they said I'd be reviewed on dec 7th...so I assume thats the next meeting date. I interviewed in late oct

For those who interviewed, were you able to stay with a student?
 
I think I got small pooled today. It does not say that but it says my app has been reviewed and an interview may be extended.

I am a Minnesota resident, and UVM has been on the top of my list for a long time. Is it a good idea to send a letter of interest right away or should I wait a couple weeks? I haven't written a letter of interest before, and not exactly sure what all to include in it...except the fact that you really would like to have the opportunity to interview there haha

ahhh, I realllly hope I can get an interview...what did you think of the school? I've been to the campus once, but I haven't seen the medical school.
 
Have any OOSers been accepted without being waitlisted first?
 
It may be because I'm staring out the window at the first snowfall of the year longing for some UVM love, but I have a good feeling about this month! Here's to some OOS waitlist movement :xf: and some straight up acceptances for those who haven't been reviewed yet!

I scheduled mine for early feb. Don't they have a student hosting program?
 
yup, they do. my understanding is that you need to notify the school of your plans to stay with a host when you plan out your interview date and they set it up for you...
 
actually, you email [email protected]... it will reach a guy named Jarod, a student who takes care of finding hosts. He'll email you a form for you to fill out

My application was complete around the same time (approx 9/8) but the message on the applicant center still says that I am under preliminary review and should be complete in about 6-8 weeks. How are applicants informed about updates?

You need to check the Online center for an update about being small-pooled, but they email you offering an interview invite and have a dated already scheduled for you.

ahhhh i knowww how about going on 11 weeks! i've been hoping for any news every day but so far nothing!

What's the timeline for being offered an interview?
 
has anyone been able to access their online applicant center??? I haven't been able to access it for over a week now. And anyone know of any movement off of the OOS waitlist yet???

Small pooled since pretty much day one... but I haven't called or written them at all since then.

I have been small pooled for over 3 months... Nothing yet.

oh wait... so not everyone who gets an interview is small-pooled first? I'm confused... I guess I haven't been keeping up...
 
do they tell us if we're small pooled? or do they just leave up the 6-8 weeks status? i've had that for almost 3 months now

Your status will change, no email.

Do anyone jump right from preliminary screening to interview invite? Or is everyone small pooled? (sorry, I know I'm repeating myself)
