OMG!! I did too. I was talking to my sister, then just stopped (I literally thought my heart stopped). My sister said my expression looked like: :uhno::uhno:

Please let the next e-mail be my acceptance letter... :xf:
 
be patient...the next few weeks will tell us a lot. hopefully it'll tell us we are accepted 🙂 :luck::xf::xf:
 
hahaha omg i also almost had a heart attack when i received that waitlisted email. I was in choir and had to stop singing cuz i literally felt my heart stop.

there's no knowing how many applicants are on the waitlist right?

it seemed that from past year's thread, most of the people who did not get into the school right after the may 15th deadline never made it into the class once august rolled around.

Yeah. I set up my email to text my phone when anything comes from UVM. I think I went tachycardic when the text arrived halfway through my neuro class...
 
No movement at all? Shouldn't we have expected SOMETHING by now?
 
According to an earlier post, we apparently should be hearing something either this coming week or the following week, but then again it's all so uncertain lol.

C'mon UVM, show us some love!!

sighh well no emails from vermont for me this morning 🙁 and the facebook group already has 75 ppl in it, so its not looking too good.
anyone got accepted lately?

What was their class size? I wouldn't look at the facebook group as the end all authority on how full the class is - I've heard that upperclassmen sometimes join the groups too.
 
The class size is about 110, i believe. 75 people already in the group plus im sure theres at least 20/30 that dont have facebook/didnt join the group. i know theres some uppserclassmen in there, but still 75 is kind of high for a group with a class of 110 i think. I hope im wrong...

You could also argue that there are people who are in that group who declined their acceptance last week and just haven't updated their groups. Even could be hopeful waitlisters wanting to keep up with any updates. There's too much speculation for me with the facebook group, especially when you'd expect most of their class to be full anyway. I wouldn't worry - it doesn't look like movement has even started for UVM yet, and of course there will be some.

Worst case, pulling 35 off the waitlist would be huge anyway. I have a feeling we'll be ok and hear something soon 🙂

lol.. I totally know what you mean...the backdrop for my days are either violin or piano .... :whistle:
 
Relax, everyone. I was waitlisted here last year, didn't get in. This year, I'm waitlisted again. If I get in, awesome! If I don't, I'll be bummed again, but I'm a pretty awesome guy, so things will work out either way!

I win either way!

As a fellow re-applicant, I can definitely +1 👍👍👍👍 to your attitude! It's not the end of the world if you don't get into school one year, and sometimes, some pretty amazing things can still happen. If you keep at it, you'll eventually get in!

I concur! For example, I witnessed a drunk driver crash into someone's parked car last night, and I got to make my first ever 911 call! Kind of cool, right? Had I gotten in last year, I never would have had the opportunity to watch this idiotic woman run from the scene and then have her bumper, with her license plate, fall off of her car as she fled.:laugh:
 
Yay for staying positive guys 🙂. Lets all hope for a miracle, even though its not looking too good right now.

Don't fret guys. I would say about 1/3 of the the people in the facebook group are second or third years who are in the group to answer questions and stuff.
 
I dont understand what the big worry is right now? UVM is a school that is known for taking LOTS of people from the waitlist (people are automatically waitlisted right?) and you see most waitlist movement after May 15th right? Dont schools need a few days to figure out how much space they actually have in their class, and this would mean the movement would be coming soon???

Maybe I'm desperately trying to stay positive, but I figure its better than focusing on things that are probably meaningless such as the size of a facebook group...

I completely agree with you - movement hasn't started for UVM (post May 15th). Even if it's small, it hasn't started, so there is no reason to worry yet. I think the nerves are largely about worrying if you will be one of the ones to get pulled, the waiting for everything to start, and how the two of those make you want to dissect every little piece of info you get haha. It'll all be ok in the end... but yes, I can't wait for it to start either haha.

Next week's gonna be the week guys.. I can feel it in me bones.

And it just makes sense that there would be some movement in June. Two weeks should be enough time to sort through the applications and start accepting the next batch.
 
You guys are amazing and so absolutely optimistic! 😍It is my sincerest hope that we can all be classmates at UVM!
 
Idk, I kinda think it will be this week. 2 weeks is somewhat of a long time to START admitting. I definitely think they'll have movement through the end of July, but I would be a little surprised if they didn't start this week.

Keep in mind I'm basing this on absolutely nothing, and could be completely wrong haha.

and facebook group membership is now up to 78...oyyy :/

i checked U washington group, theres only 60 members and their class holds 220
....im really worried the uvm class is full 🙁

Your pessimism is healthy. Better to be pleasantly surprised than sorely disappointed.
 
It's been said, but I'll reiterate. Guys, calm down!! Somebody called admissions (med55) earlier in this thread and they told him/her that they won't be sending out decisions until "a couple of weeks AFTER May 15th" due to processing time. If we haven't heard by the early June, THEN we can worry (but only a little!) Trust me, there's been movement every year, even in the slowest of years. This year will NOT be an exception. Stay positive, and find other things to focus on for the time being. Your mental state will thank you!

This is true. I did call a few weeks ago.. I was speaking to a woman and asking if she could tell me anything about the waitlist, and she passed the phone off to another woman (should have gotten a name down) who told me to keep waiting and look out for news in June...she said they need some time to process/look through files.

Of course that won't keep me from stalking this board day and night, like several others I see!!
 
Facebook group size is a poor indicator of how many people admitted are definitely going there. Just taking a quick glance, there are at least 5 people in the group who are current students, probably there to post about sublets or something. Even then, I'm sure many students are still on waiting lists elsewhere and may drop out. In the group that I'm in now for another school there were a few people who didn't even have an acceptance. Currently in that group there are more people than there are spots in the class, and the admissions office still expects significant movement on the waitlist. Relax!

I just glanced at the members list, and at least 17/78 are current students and possibly more that I don't recognize. So no reason to lose hope yet.
