CALL. I have been receiving phone calls from applicants and we are delighted to host students.
 
Hey guys, sorry about this post but i am just getting really nervous about this VCU application errors. But did anyone who was having problems paying and getting the VmusrID.Back error application close. In that i mean getting an email from VCU that says because you have not completed your application by the deadline your application is not going to be considered?

Hey guys, sorry about this post but i am just getting really nervous about this VCU application errors. But did anyone who was having problems paying and getting the VmusrID.Back error application close. Do you really need to post the same thing three times? I understand your nervous about it/maybe freaking out a little, but multiple posts aren't going to help you. I think all you can do/the best thing to do is call the office tomorrow and talk it out with them.

i am new to the site buddy i have been trying to delete the damn comment.....
 
ali when you log into your app does it say you're complete? also check your balance in your checking account or whatever you used to see if there is a pending charge. i forgot, but this may have happened to me awhile back not sure. but like i said, give them a call. i'm sure they'll be fine with it.

Ah, makes sense. I wasn't trying to be mean though, just thought it was funny. One thing about SDN...you can't delete your posts. You can only edit them (ie. delete content). But you seem to have figure that out. Welcome to SDN btw.
 
I'm getting the same "Please check the VMusrID.Back" error message here when trying to pay for the secondary.
 
Just called. They said they just fixed it. But when I gave them my amcas id to "reverse" the expiration they said I would be able to complete my application and pay. But it still says the deadline is past. Guess I'll give it 15-30 min.

edit: called again. apparently, it gets updated at 6pm (est?).

I have the same question... but also, I want to know if anyone ever gets invited to interview after getting the "reservations" status. I was just offered a cardiology research position at Downstate for the year and was wondering if its worth sending them an update or if I'm pretty much rejected after getting the "reservations" status today?

I submitted in July and got the 'may' status -- just means I'm on hold I guess. 3.73/33Q OOS.

I hope you are right because I was verified 8/25 and got secondary request 8/27 then complete under review 9/1 so hope that I get some love! OOS too.
 
Has anyone with the "interested" status heard back from VCU in the last 4-5 weeks?
 
3.45/37R Got the reservations status on August 30. Just got rejected today 🙁

It basically just says that they did a review and the adcom is interested in our candidacy. However with our priority score they MAY be unable to offer us an interview. Last year a bunch of people with this status and the "further" status got invites pretty soon...like 2-3 weeks. I don't think anyone's heard from VCU recently with good news. Kinda bummed, wanna visit Virginia

Hey folks, for the part where it asks about lapses in your education on the secondary, is that only in reference to breaks taken between school? Or can we include explanations for some lackluster grades in that slow as welll?

I think you can send them updates. Last cycle I interviewed at VCU and that was just after a poster went out to a conference with my name on it so I asked and they told me to send an update via email.
 
Interview invite today! I got the "very interested" status maybe a week and a half ago. So excited, I would love to go to VCU! 😀
 
so for those of you that are on hold. for what it's worth, it was 4 weeks between when i got the "further" status and interview invite. has anyone interviewed yet? how's the parking situation?

It's been almost 4 weeks for me too. Got a few days left, i'm hoping to hear by Sunday (which is when they seem to send the most status updates, going by past threads). :xf:
 
Hey, I got an interview today as well. I am wondering if I made a mistake because the earliest interview dates were in January. Is this what you found as well, or did I just not pick an earlier month?
 
I picked January as well. I think there are earlier dates though, so I asked to reschedule. That selection menu was a bit confusing.
 
I agress that it was a little confusing. I think I will reschedule as well to try and get an earlier date. I was just worried about the warning with rescheduling that your name would go in the back of the line of those offered interview spots.

Bogg, if you still haven't received a status I really think you should contact the office. They seem very receptive to phone calls. Two months is an unusually long time to wait.
 
there are defnitely spots available before jan. call the office if you have problems scheduling for an earlier date.

If it helps: I got the "may" status first (3 weeks after my secondary was complete), and then got an interview invite 3 days later 🙂

Yeah I got the "further" status maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago. Hope that helps.

I had the "The committee's file review indicates that they would like to consider your file further..." status for about 4 weeks.
 
Does the "review your file further" status typically end up in an interview? I know at the bottom it said they may not get everyone into interview. Just didn't know what kind of time frame I am looking at waiting or if there is still a chance of not getting an interview.

I wouldn't say people with this status "typically" get an interview. Yes, people in this category CAN and DO get interviews, however the likelihood is debated and is really unknown. Just hope for the best.

As for the time frame, it could be a while...I think they do interviews through March (but someone plz correct me if I'm wrong).
 
Is the interview open-file at VCU?

Is it half an hour in duration?

I'm scheduled for 2:00-3:00, but it says that there is a test interview that will not affect their decision from 2:30 to 3:30 to help them with the 2012 cycle.

Any info from those who've already attended interview at VCU would be appreciated.

Complete 8/4. Had a status change from the original long status that says your file is forwarded to the admissions committee to the short one that says the same thing and back to the long one. Anyways, still no change in status so I'm assuming you should not expect something for AT LEAST 3-4 weeks. 😴
 
I was complete in July and not even a single status change yet.

Yes, do call...as a fellow applicant I will vouch for the fact that they are incredibly responsive to the cold calls. People on the other end are unusually cheery and willing to put up with us. I hope to be in the exact same place next year...nothing like a random "Fight Club" style single serving friend that will hopefully be willing to take you out to a decent dinner and make you realize how much you love being a medical student vs. an applicant!

Interview is open, up to 1 hr in duration. 2nd interview is only 20 mins so you'd still potentially have time.
