Hey I have 2 questions for anyone who keeps hitting refresh on their browser:

1: Are any of you in-staters?

2: Are any of you in/done with a special masters program?

I only ask because that's where I'm at and I was wondering if anybody is in the same situation.

no email, no status change when I log in...man, i REALLY despise their system. they have got to get their computers fixed. or even better, just come up with a less miserable system altogether.
 
yes to both of the above. I'm IN an SMP right now, finishing in the spring. maybe your in my SMP?!? in VA!?!
 
you think the admissions office is sitting tehre and reading these threads and laughing? they work so hard reading our essays i guess they deserve to have a little fun with us...it's probably just a matter of pressing "enter" for them and they are just trying to get a few more laughs!:laugh:
 
today i made a few buffers at work...and then pressed "refresh" about 652 times...and in a few seconds it will be 653
 
i honestly think there's just a delay and we won't hear until some random time tomorrow or in he next few days. last round (Feb. 1) there was a delay and nobody received emails until 10:15 or so the next morning. it's almost better this way though because we don't need to sit by our computer's all night and freak out. we can just chill and do our thing and hopefully we'll get a surprise email from VCU when we least expect it 🙂
 
I'm really hoping it's a system delay. That way I'm hoping we only have to wait another day instead of waiting for the wait-list.
 
with 135 of us watching this thread, it's not very likely that they sent out the acceptances and NONE of us got one. they just need to fix their computers it looks like.
 
I'm in the EVMS SMP. Two people in my program are waiting to hear from VCU today too so I thought you may be one of them. Good luck though! Fingers crossed we ALL get in 🙂

(Seriously though, I haven't gotten in anywhere and I have a 38R.... and I'm in-state.... and decent GPA (3.6/3.4)... and I'm working in a clinic.... and BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH... I did write about how much I love to drown kittens in my personal statement, though... bad move?)

I'm wondering if its a computer glitch or if I just haven't been accepted...Has anyone heard any word yet?
 
did someone say they only send acceptances out today not waitlists/rejections? is that true? and everyone gets the "committee has met to discuss your file" update?

i'm fairly certain nothing has been sent out...check again in the a.m.

unfortunately, this is becoming a common occurrence

@gomed: yes, everyone gets that update at some point after the survey has been completed. and yes, only acceptances were supposed to go out today. waitlist decisions should go out in a couple of weeks.
 
By this point, I'm pretty sure the problem is with the system. Rest well guys, and check your emails/statuses tomorrow around 10 or 11 am.

Yes, only acceptances were supposed to go out today (that's what the lady in the admissions office told me today). And everyone gets the "hold" message post-interview..hoping for some good news tomorrow morning :xf:
 
well..somewhere on a piece of paper in richmond, virginia rests our fates! i guess we will get access to it tomorrow...talk to you guys then! im going to go grab some drinks with a few buddies to relax!!
 
I was sad until coming to this thread to double check - hope has not died yet! I'm going to be crossing my fingers, toes and whatever else so hard for tomorrow.
 
good luck everyone and hang in there. i remember last year having to wait an extra day because of server problems. mcv/vcu is a great school aside from the occasional server delays.
 
called admissions. per Aisha, acceptances did go out yesterday. rejections/alternate list notifications will come later in March
 
I completely forgot to clarify but did they give you a specific date for rejection/alternate list notification?
 
gahhh almost time i hope! i wonder why they have these server problems every time. ah well, cmon vcu 😀!
 
I am confused. Does this mean that some people have received an acceptance email and it just so happens that no one on SDN received an acceptance?

Or, does it mean that the acceptances went out yesterday, but due to server issues (or w/e) no one has yet received the acceptance email?
 
So nobody on SDN reported an acceptance, huh? Makes you wonder if VCU systematically patrols SDN to make sure none of the posters get in. 😉

Jk. Actually if they did patrol SDN, they'd want to make sure to accept everyone that shows them love on here!

Got the email at 9:16 AM.

Interviewed 9/20..it's been a long wait!
 
I guess it's waitlist for me then, hopefully no rejection
 
Nothing here either. I was invited to 2nd look...it'd be interesting to get rejected next week and 1 week after the school tries to sell itself to me at second look! :laugh: I probably got waitlisted. 😛
 
So at this point has anyone else been accepted or has only that one person heard good news?
 
The login screen for the portal reads: "We were having computer problems that have been resolved. Offers for admission made on yesterday did not go out last evening as they should have. The offers were resent this morning. I am very sorry for this delay. The notices should up load after 6pm tonight."

I take it that the emails were sent this morning and the portal will change after 6PM tonight for those accepted?

So if we didn't receive an email this morning, it's to the waitlist for all of us?

...does that mean this night, or last night? wow this is painful haha but i saw someone got the accept email this morning, so probably the emails were all sent this morning?

hmm...i just noticed this on the login screen.

but yes, i think if you didn't receive an e-mail this morning, then it's off to the waitlist.
 
Has everyone been checking their statuses on the VCU site? I still have the hold message so does this mean I'm probably waitlisted/rejected?
 
If you look at our VCU SOM sign in page, Dr. W-C said today that the glitch was fixed and offers will be sent out after 6 pm tonight.

Since only 1 SDNer posted an acceptence, I think that the server still might be backed up. Who knows, maybe people will be getting acceptances tonight?!

I'm pretty sure you're right since only one person received an e-mail out of the many many SDNers waiting to hear. Looks like 6pm EST today is it! Another nerve-wracking day. :xf:
 
Unless of course there's a difference between "offers" and "notices." Probably reading into this way too much, but the site says "offers were resent this morning" and that "notices" will be uploaded after 6 PM. Might mean offers of acceptance have already been made and that other notices (waitlists, rejections etc) will be made after 6. Who knows...

I agree with this. Notices went out and it's only the website that isn't showing those offers. I'm pretty sure it's limbo for the rest of us. SUCH a bummer.
 
Anyone want to call the admissions office to clarify? 🙂 It seems hard to believe that only one person on SDN was accepted, or was willing to share that they were accepted.

Someone already did call. Hate to say it, but this means acceptances were sent out. Don't know what to make of the above and the "after 6" thing (as opposed to "later in march") but I'll wait it out a few more hours and deal with it then.
 
I called and they said that acceptances went out. If we haven't heard, we were rejected or waitlisted.
