those of you who received calls - first, congratulations!

I know for anonymity/confidentiality reasons some may not want to share... I'll just put initials.... did anyone receive a call from Dr. H. H. today? I guess I just want to know so that I can have maybe a little bit of closure before the sun goes down. If she made calls today, it's likely I did not get accepted, and then I can try to breath lol

Don't feel obligated! Just thought I'd ask 😳

Again, congrats to all accepted. That is really amazing!!!!

Got the acceptance call about an hour ago. My interviewer said that the acceptance letters were sent out yesterday by overnight mail, so even if you didn't get a call today, you should know your status if you are accepted by tomorrow at the latest via snail mail.

Congratulations and thank you for letting us know about the letters!

Wondering the same thing about the same interviewer. Lol. Let us know. A PM works too. : ) No pressure though.

Received a letter at home today (in NYC) at 2:30pm, placed on the alternative list! Very happy that I still have a chance despite my low MCAT. Love love love P&S. Good luck everyone : )

1) Congrats! 2) As one of the multiple Canadians on this thread: boooo snail mail! Looks like I won't be hearing anything, good, not so good, or just bad until later next week. Bah customs.

In NYC (same neighborhood as P&S), no news by mail, email or phone yet.

UGH. The agony!

Everything is so arbitrary. Why can't they just email everyone on a certain date?

So, rogueunicorn, were you alluding only to the possibility of phone calls for some accepted or were you under the belief all accepted applicants would hear before snail mail?
i was under the impression everyone would receive a call

I had a missed call from an unknown number. It was my interviewer and he did leave a message.

Good luck everyone!:luck:

Maybe rejections haven't been sent out via snail mail yet which is why I didn't get anything in NY.

Congrats to all those accepted! Very happy for you all!!

Feel free to use these code names from now on:

Henderson–Hasselbalch

Good Luck

i dont remember my interviewer's name and my interview packet is at my mom's house. -_-

gahhh nothing yet still. I got my fingers crossed for tomorrow tho. Congrats to everybody that got calls and letters!! I am very envious lol

Fingers crossed for tomorrow as well! After that, it would be back to trying to predict and judge USPS.

I can say that none of the mentioned initials were mine. I doubt many people had my interviewer (based on a discussion during the interview).

One SDNer mentioned that he talked to his interviewer and they said that the acceptance letters were sent overnight mail. So I guess if you don't get mail tomorrow then that probably means you didn't get accepted 😕

So many conflicting theories, I dont know what to believe anymore.

I think it's best to just sit tight and wait for whatever comes. Nothing we do now can change whatever's in those letters anyways.

mmmcdowe: I don't know if you've talked about this before (since I've only recently started checking this thread because Columbia isn't rolling admissions), but what's married student housing look like? Would we be better off trying to get an apartment somewhere? Thanks for offering to answer questions!

Hey guys, I will be at a wedding at the time of mail delivery today. Can you guys describe the accepted packaging? Ie. big/small envelope, does it say priority on it/overnight? My brother will be at home to check the mail for me during the wedding, but I don't want him to open it.

I have a couple of friends who live in couples housing (not just for married folks), and their apartment is splendid! Big social living room, separate bedroom, view of the river... You might be able to find something comparable off-campus, but I wonder (considering the vagaries of NY real estate) if it'd even be worth the hassle. Also, perhaps all couples housing isn't created equal.

are they in the towers? also, if anyone has any idea the rent people spend for a couples' apartment that would be really helpful!

miayo - it's a big priority mail envelope with a folder inside; I think the unfortunate news will be coming as a letter in a regular-sized envelope

Thank you, now I can ask my brother the size of the envelope. Good luck figuring out housing!
