Citrusguy-

Maybe try calling them tomorrow? The letter says, "If you do not receive it [security info] within 7 days of your interview call the Security Office at 301-295-3033." The SF-86 is a super long form and I'm sure even if it's slightly different for USUHS all the basic stuff should be the same so I would just start filling out whatever SF-86 form you found online. When I filled it out for something else a couple years ago you had to go into pretty specific detail about past residences and contacts and such so I would start getting your residence history together ASAP. Good luck!

thanks! i finished what i found online already. they actually want us to print out all 127 pages and bring it in? i don't even think i can find a stapler that'll go through 127 pages

LOL yes. Bring it in a nice manila envelope, and MAKE SURE TO KEEP A COPY FOR YOURSELF before you turn it in. You will really need it when you do security paperwork during in-processing as you will be typing up what you wrote down on that sheet to an online database with some updates regarding your military training (which you will have gone through by then).

Woa 😵 I believe what I filled out was only like, 22 pages max (including instructions) There were 2 information release forms at the end, making the actual form only ~18-19 pages...

yea just got the form from the admissions office. it's only like 22 pages. phew

Anyone else having trouble logging into the DoDMERB website? I haven't been able to log in for a few days...

https://dodmerb.tricare.osd.mil/

The site appears to be up and running again... Checked an hour ago and it said there was a remedial requested 😱 but now it says im qualified! :soexcited:

On another note, has anyone e-mailed the security director, Peter Sylvester? I have twice now and he hasn't responded. Then I called and he's never available and the ladies in the office there don't seem to be as excited to talk to me or as helpful as the admissions office. 😎

I have not spoken to Peter. Sorry, can't help on that. Do you recall when you went for your dodmerb physical? Mine still says "under review."

Opto was on 9/2 and Physical was 9/9. I assume it take 2-3 weeks

Interview invite for 11/3 this morning! 🙂

32R/3.4GPA, no prior service myself, although my Dad is a vet.

Congrats on the invite! Early interviewees -- we could *potentially* hear good news in a week and a half!! :xf:

Does anyone else have their e-mail and SDN open on their computer like 24-7? Waiting for Potential news on the 16th is killing me!! :bang:

I think they said they will call us! Now I'm just waiting to see if I passed the dodmerb. 😱
Although it doesn't matter whether or not I passed the dodmerb if I don't get in lol.

Congrats!!!
As far as flying and transportation, I took the metro, and it was much cheaper (if money is a concern). I think a cab would run you near $70 one way, but the metro and bus was about $20 round trip. And the shuttle guys will drop you right off at the metro after the tour of the simcenter! I feel like a metro pro now after my one trip haha.

As far as dual citizenship, they did talk about it when they were going over clearances. I think they said you will have to denounce it, but they'll let you know for sure.

I will definitely talk to them...I know they will make me promise to denounce upon matriculation but I also was told itd make the security clearance process a lot easier if i just did it now (from the HPSP people I have been dealing with) i def wont be living in israel so i dont really care lol

Complete 9/26 even though I submitted the 2ndary in June...

does anyone know how they feel about letters of intent post interview but pre any decision?

I have a question about transport. I've never lived in a large city and never had to use public transport like this before haha. I am interviewing on the 13th and arriving at midnight the night before. Will the metro be running that late so I can take it to my hotel? And then the next morning, can I just ride the train right up to the medical center? (i.e. can I just walk through the gate then and get where I'm going by foot, or is a car necessary to get around on base)? Thanks, I know I probably sound like an idiot, but these things confuse me:laugh:

I can't answer about the time the metro runs, but using it is very easy! I'm from a suburb of LA where everyone just drives their own cars, so I was pretty nervous about using it too. But it is very easy to figure it out. There is a metro stop right by the school, and a shuttle runs between the two. And if you do a tour of the simcenter, the guy driving the van will even drop you off there at the end of the day!

I am a USUHS fourth year, I sent in a Letter of Intent after my interview. Didn't seem to hurt me at all, just be certain about your decision.

The trains open at 5am, so day of the interview you should be fine. However, on weekdays, it closes at midnight - you'll need to find another way to get to your hotel (I suggest supershuttle, it's what I use if I don't metro). You can find more information about the metro at http://www.wmata.com/ it's really easy to use (probably the best metro in the country, though I don't have much experience with other metros). You'll ride the red line to medical center, and you can either walk across the street to the gate, or catch the usuhs metro shuttle - the school is less than half a mile from the metro gate.

thanks a lot Telencephalon. i'm 100% sure of my decision, especially after that interview day. though i wish i had a better first interview, but my second interview was awesome!

Does anyone know if DoDMERB sends the results of the physical to USU? I got my Qualified letter in the mail, but they sent me two copies... I am not sure if I need to forward one to the school.

At the interview you should have been briefed by a woman who handles all of our dodmerb stuff. She gave us a couple of sheets of paper and her contact info was listed. I don't have the paper with me, but I would send her an email and hopefully she will know. My dodmerb is still under review🙁

I've searched the website, but can't find a link to the student host reservation form. Does anyone have that link?

Thanks.

Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a pre-interview dinner tomorrow like they had for the weeks before?

I would be interested in going so if anyone knows anything about that please let me know!

Flying into Dulles tomorrow afternoon! excited.

See you 10/13ers on Thursday 🙂

Yes, there will be one @ Caddie's, details in the previous posts. This time, many MSI's will show up because we just finished our first module and we're on a break!

Oh okay great! I can only find the post for last week's dinner but didn't find one for today, that's why I was wondering 🙂. Same time right?

Same here guys. Good luck to all of you. Here's to hoping that we will all soon be colleagues.

I'm a reapplicant (wait-list purgatory last year) and I was wondering if they will still have my SF-86 on file or if I'm going to need a new one. I haven't seen any information, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough? Thanks!

I see people talking about Sunday the 16th, but I think the calls might be going out today... At my interview at USU on 9/22, they said acceptances go out on the 1st and 15th days of every month, and I think today is also the first day med schools can start offering acceptances according to the MSAR. If you get a call, post here quick and let us all know! :xf:

I thought that they said the 16th at my interview. But I could be wrong. I'm not getting my hopes up for today, but that would be a really nice surprise.

I've been scouring the forums all day and waiting for a call or for someone else to receive one so that we could know when they come. Waiting is the hardest thing. :xf: Good luck to all.

Me too! :scared:

Maybe calls will be going out tomorrow? Seeing as how today is a Sunday, I don't know if someone will come into the office just to make phone calls.

It's after noon on the east coast now... I would expect that if they were gonna go out, some would have gotten the call by now
