Last year they started on Saturday and made calls until Tuesday, skipping Sunday, so this year they might make calls tomorrow and Wednesday... who knows
Hey all! Congratulations to those of you who received acceptances.
Does anyone know if any 09/30 interview date acceptances went out today?
I just think it's weird no one got a call after like 10 on here... Only morning calls I guess?
I JUST GOT THE CALL!!! NAVY CLASS OF 2016!!!!! Had to wait until 1700 Eastern time to hear, but the wait was worth it. I interviewed on 9/22... not even a month between interview and acceptance, that's a great turnaround for medical school.
Congrats to all the other people who were accepted today! If you haven't heard yet, stay strong! It'll come when you least expect it!

Yup, there are still a few of us out there... even more who don't visit SDN regularly (or at all). I wouldnt say we are doomed unless Nov. 1 passes without any news. I don't know if I could mentally hold out until Nov. 1st though. I may explode.
I've only heard of Navy and Army.
are 9/13 interviews all done???????does that mean my friend didn't get in?? ( he interviewed on 9/13)
out of curiosity did everyone have two really great interviews (for those who interviewed)? i had one tough interview and one really great interview and i'm super worried about my chances that i might've blown it for the tough one...

This was more or less my experience, although both interviews bore some challenge. One interviewer had me explain something he picked randomly out of the new england journal of medicine!
The 'difficult' interviewer kept throwing me curve ball questions - challenging my justifications for pursuing military medicine in a way that tacitly required me to craft a response which, while consistent with what he said, did not contradict my origninal statements (if that makes any sense, lol)...
This was typed on my phone so plz forgtive typos etc..
yea that's how mine went too. i had a few contradictions in mine because on my app it doesn't have formal shadowing experience with mil docs (which i don't have) but i mentioned i have informally talked to other military docs and people who have worked with military docs (which i don't think is a contradiction). i just didn't have a really good feeling at all after that interview but my second one was awesome. i just hope the second interview overshadows the first...

I wouldn't lose sleep over it - I'm sure you did great! The fact of your early interview date is testament to their approval of your EC activities, etc...
Also, I'd like to mention that given my past experience the "emotional feeling" I leave an interview with is often a very poor indicator of my actual interview performance.
A lot of times anxiety can be misconstrued as evidence of a bad performance, when in fact it really reflects your heightened sensitivity towards challenges/obstacles that would have altogether skipped under your radar had you been more facile.
Not trying to launch into an esoteric discussion of interviews here, lol, but I hope this perspective offers some comfort from the skin-crawling 'hurry up and wait' anxiety of post-interview waiting....
Ha, I heard about one of them doing that! The student who led my tour kinda gave us a break down on our interviewers and what to expect, so this girl in my group expected that. Still hard to prepare for it!
What else did the tour-giver say? Just curious as some of the other interviewer 'tricks'...
Well the reading thing was the one thing I remember she gave a heads up on. She didn't know who one of my interviewers was, but she said the other guy was nice (they both were!) In between my interviews, I found the person who interviewed before me and asked about any curve balls. She just told me to be prepared to talk about something the adcom wouldn't know about me from my adcom- so I talked about how much I enjoy baking lol. The tour-givers will really help if you ask, and the people you interview with will help too. Everyone wants you to go there (that's the impression I got at least!)
I think you are actually one of the students from my interview date... 9/29, right? 🙂
Dang! I was hoping some people would get the call today... from past threads it looks like they put calls out over a couple day span. Here's to hoping for Nov. 1!! Any other 9/15 or 9/22ers out there besides me, jvqd, and Isis that are still waiting on the call? Lets commiserate for the next two weeks.
You guys gonna do a letter of intent?
There is no set format for a LOI right? just spew my guts and hope for a visceral reaction by the adcom?
Congratulations to everybody who is accepted!
I asked a question a little while back but I haven't seen any response. (maybe it was already addressed somewhere else?)
....
I'm a reapplicant (wait-list purgatory last year) and I was wondering if they will still have my SF-86 on file or if I'm going to need a new one. I haven't seen any information, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough? Thanks!
....
Does someone know the answer to that question?
