The interview was so much fun! Praying for good news :xf:

I interviewed 10/28 and haven't heard anything. Has anyone else that interviewed around that time heard anything? One of the first year students who I talked to at my interview said that she interviewed in October and was accepted in January, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Today I cancelled my interview and withdrew my application. Good luck to the person that receives my interview!

How do you know if you are on the interview waitlist?

Quick question: where is the UCD interview? The link to the directions/parking did not work for me.

As far as people who have gotten past the interviews, no rejections have been sent out yet, right?

Rejected Pre-interview

Well I'm sure other places are snapping you up though with those stats.

Thankfully, yes!

I only have myself to blame for being rejected here. I didn't feel like UC Davis was for me when I filled out the secondary. Plus, I rushed it, so I'm pretty sure it showed everywhere.

Good luck to you. I hope you hear some good news.

Are UCD interviews almost all over now? I heard somewhere they conclude by Feb.
Any recent IIs gone out?

So I called Dr. Sousa (assistant dean) today because he told me when I interviewed on 9/2 that I should call him if I needed anything or had any concerns. So since he said that they would update my status on october 17th.... and have still not even given me the tiniest morsel of communicae I decided I would take the liberty of giving Dr. Sousa a ring. He graciously listened to me and said emphatically that no news is very good news... and that the admissions committee has been making "lots of progress recently." So if you are in the same boat as me... telling yourself that no news is good news... then you can affirm yourself in taking heart in the silence of having no news. Good luck everyone!

Just got the call today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Looking forward to meeting the UCD ppl in the fall!

I am in the same boat as you. I interviewed in September and have been waiting to hear back since October 17th. Thanks for letting everyone know about the call, it certainly boosted up my hopes!

+1... I really hope I finally hear back from them this month...

Thanks, Congrats, I interviewed same day, IS, higher GPA, lower MCAT, Sad, haven't heard anything yet ..

Yous till have plenty of time. I was complete late and had decent stats. I got an interview in March last year (the second to last date). Here I am as a first year and 7 of my fellow interviewees from that day are here with me. I was accepted without going on the wait-list.

My stats:
MCAT 30 (10s in each)
GPA 3.8
sGPA3.7
non-science major
decent volunteering and mediocre research

Admissions is a strange process here. A lot of my classmates were told they were rejected and a week later they were told it was a mistake. Some got rejected twice before acceptance. Hang in there.

The school is great and well-worth it though. Nice facilities and great atmosphere. Our teachers overall so far have been great. Our free clinics are fun to work at.

See some of you next year!

Interviewed on 8/19 and still waiting... :luck:

Keeping the hope alive haha 😳

Thanks for the encouragement. the waiting is truely the hardest part of this whole process IMO

Thanks for the info and encouragement! Do you by any chance know any current med students who got off the wait list before 5/15? I'm just wondering if it's a possibility. thanks!

So....when do they stop sending IIs?

I interviewed 1/13 and just got an e-mail that I was put on wait list. Hope I get in and good luck to everyone else!

wow!? I interviewed 1/6 and haven't heard anything...that was a really fast turn-around! I wish you the best with the remainder of the app cycle :xf:

Anyone receive the packet that was promised after acceptance? Been accepted since Nov. but no physical packet and no deposit.

Just received a rejection email. Interviewed 9/9. I guess the "no news is good news" statement from Dr. Sousa is not always true.

Best of luck to those of you still in the game. I'll be going to Brown next year so I'm not too hurt. Although I did really like UC Davis...

Also received a rejection email just a few minutes ago. Almost 6 months post-interview!! Craziness... 🙁

Interviewed 8/19

interviewed 9/30, rejected this morning. The email didn't really sound like it would be sent to someone who interviewed, it seems worded towards someone who applied and was not given an interview. Is this what all post-interview rejection emails have been like?
Email read as follows:

Thank you for applying to the UC Davis School of Medicine. Your application was thoroughly reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a position for the entering class. Each year we receive nearly 5,000 applications and with no more than 105 available seats, the Admissions Committee faces an extremely difficult task. You have our best wishes for success in your future endeavors.

I'm just a little suspicious after the people on last year's thread who were mistakenly sent a rejection email and then accepted a week or two later.

Interviewed 9/2. Just rejected. Crazy. I hope they realize how insane it is that they make you wait for 5 months.

I also got the axe today. Interviewed in September. My mcat and gpa were definitely good enough for this school. I guess I must be bad at interviewing or had some other flaw in my application.

I think it is a real rejection 🙁... my status page shows the same thing. No longer under consideration

i haven't heard anything since submitting my application in August. I think I would have rather gotten a rejection at this point

Rejection here as well, post interview. Oh well, it makes the decision making a little easier.

Good luck to those who got rejected at their other schools.

IS, 30, GPA sci 4.0/cum 4.0. Interview 08/2011.
Rejection 6 months later. Not very happy about the waiting for just a rejection.

anyone know what % are accepted/waitlisted/rejected post interview?
