Hey I interviewed same day (Feb 23) and I recall the tour guide mentioning that the admissions committee meets the week of March 8th...which is this week! 😱

Thanks! I must be remembering wrong or maybe it was just wishful thinking. March 8th, that means we will probably hear by Friday. Good luck!
 
Just an FYI, sometimes they take a bit longer to let people know. You'll be lucky if you hear by Friday but it could likely be early next week as well. Nonetheless, good luck to you all!!!

+1. I remember the lady telling us to check our status online on Fri; however, there is a post here somewhere that says that the Admissions Committee meets twice this week, today and on Fri...I'm crossing my fingers😕
 
For anyone out there still waiting for an interview, I just called them today to ask whether they were still handing out II. The response was yes, since they are interviewing through the first week of April, but they were unsure as to how many more II they would be sending out. The woman I spoke with took down my name, and the next hour I got an invite! SO CALL! 😀 Good luck you all!

Just FYI this is not spring break for UVM COM. Spring break is the second week of April.

I couldn't agree more! I was the last student to be accepted last year and calling/expressing interest is really important at UVM! Best of luck everyone 🙂

Oh jeez, the admissions office is going to get a lot of calls tomorrow... :laugh:

But seriously, that's awesome. Congratulations!
 
Just wanted to let everyone know the communication with the office of admissions via the online portal has an unspecified word count. So, if you are long winded like me, you would be better off sending them an email from your personal account.
 
I just got an interview here but do you think its for the waitlist?
 
Definitely not for a waitlist. UVM wouldn't continue on with interviews if their class was full. That is what is super unique about UVM. Even the last interview day last year, some folks were accepted.
 
To those who have been placed on OOA waitlist, were you notified through email or was it just a portal status change?
 
With a feeling of great relief, I just found out that I was placed on the OOA Waitlist😀 What now? Do you guys have any idea of how fast the waitlist is moving?
 
Has anyone been taken off the OOS WL? Hoping it was gonna be today.....
 
I was on the OOS Waitlist for 3 hrs back in november and then was accepted.

"We hope that you enjoyed your interview at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and that you were able to learn more about our school, curriculum and life in Burlington."

Does this mean we have to wait for the next review or is there still a chance we might be reviewed?
Sucks big time :/

I'm right there with you... I really hope we don't have to wait another month until we are reviewed 🙁

I also interviewed 2/28. Accepted OOS this morning. I'm assuming they either didn't review your file, or they reviewed it but didn't make a decision. You might not have to wait till next month, I was told decisions from this meeting would also be posted Monday and Tuesday.
 
Fiiiiiiiiinally rejected after swimming in the maybe-we'll-interview-you pool for 6+ months. Knew it was a long shot by this point anyway. Good luck everyone!

there are no "waitlist interviews" because almost everyone goes to the waitlist initially. More waitlist action occurs April - June than at any other time of year, and I am pretty certain that less than half of the total number of acceptances that will go out, have already been awarded at this point in the cycle.

I have no way of knowing for sure, but it would not surprise me in the slightest if admissions here only just meets the AAMC recommendation to have issued a number of acceptances = the expected class size by March, or some number very similar to it.

someone else covered it pretty well, but basically there are two rounds of lottery where people submit their preferences, following each of which there is a trading period where people can make swaps if both parties are willing. Housing is provided at no additional cost, and some travel expenses are paid as well. You are required to do them at one of the four designated sites (FL, ME, VT, CT). No CA until fourth year if you want it. The average student will do two or three aways out of seven, and most people get at least four of the top ten positions they ranked. I think I got five of my top eight. The only way to stay in VT all year is to qualify for an exemption, which was covered above.

Yes. Students do rely on anecdotes from other students in ranking their site choices, although this is a bit silly IMO because the quality of all the sites is pretty comparable (it has to be for accreditation purposes) and there are certainly more intra-site differences ("I didn't like my mean resident!") than there are inter-site differences ("go to site X for rotation Y, it's so much better there!") Both of these quotes are examples of silly things that people could say that might sway a person trying to put together their rank list, and obviously they are completely subjective. but the truth is that you are better off picking sites for personal reasons, as it sounds like you are doing.
 
I was wondering how students at UVM like that they take step 1 really early? Do you feel like you had enough time to learn everything you needed to learn and prepare for the test adequately?

I can see the benefit of having a head start on clerkships but I was wondering about any of the cons (if any).
 
To any current students: What are the most useful resources (websites, property managers, etc,) for off campus housing / apartments? Do you prefer UVM housing over non-affiliated housing? Thanks in advance.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but do early boards and integrated curriculum = long hours in class for the first 1.5 years? I interview next week.
