Truthfully speaking, this was my top choice so pretty bummed. Gorgeous location. Good luck to the rest.
Just got an acceptance by email! Interviewed 9/13
Congrats!! I interviewed on the same day and am really really hoping I'll hear a "yes" from them.![]()
A quick heads up to people wondering why these have or haven't heard back. It doesn't have to do as much about when you were complete as it does what undergrand school you attended. What we were told on interview day is that the applications are given to teams of 2 committee members to read and are divided up by undergrad institution. So if you haven't heard back either way (good or bad) it is probably because that team is running a bit behind reading the applications for that school. The same team of 2 reads the applicants from the same school every year so they know what letters of rec, clubs, extracurriculars, majors, classes, etc. are legit and impressive for that school and what is just an easy check box for the application. I think it a great method! The level of applicant really showed on interview day. Everyone was pretty impressive.
I highly doubt there's anyone at Dartmouth all that familiar with my undergrad...someone will look at mine when they gave time I'm assuming?

Probably. If you are from a random school don't worry though. I have a friend who interviewed and was accepted to Dartmouth last year from a school that I can never remember the name of so they do get looked at and seriously considered.I was going to say... what do they do with schools they receive little to no apps from generally? Random pile?
to those who got rejections, i'm sorry to hear it. mind sharing your stats?
I know a person from my school (lowly state school) that received an interview. He/She's URM though.
I was shocked to avoid the rejection wave, I have pretty low stats by their standards. Anyone know if they are receptive to LOIs?
For what it's worth -- I was complete 9/11, and essentially asked for an update (not really LOI):
"Your application is complete. We do not give updates in the process.
Due to the large number of applications and the care taken in the reading of each file, our process at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth can be a lengthy one. Please be assured that we will contact you by e-mail as soon as a decision has been made about your candidacy. It is therefore very important that you keep your mailing and e-mail addresses current in AMCAS throughout the application cycle."
is what I received...
so I guess it's just the same old, wait patiently until you get rejected or an interview.
I sent an application update and was told it via email that it was added to my file.

Same here...pretty surprised to be in the running still. I'm going to wait til November, then start sending LOIs/updates, just in case they haven't gotten around to my app yet (which is unlikely because I was complete in mid July).
so far have the two interviews been close to thirties minutes. Are the interviews usually schedule where you interviewer can carry the interview as long as he or she wants or are doe dartmouth try to keep interviews to thirty minutes? thanks.

Look up the interview feedback page for this information and more helpful hints to prepare for your interview 🙂 Anyhow to answer your question:
I'm sorry man. I was complete the same day. I guess my rejection's coming soon![]()
Do you mind sending me the link to the interview feedback page? I tried to find it but I was not successful! 🙁

Dear Students, I want to congratulate your class on an excellent performance on the USMLE Step 1 Exam. Your class achieved a 100% pass rate with a mean score of 235 compared to a national mean of 227. This is a testimony to your dedication and hard work to your medical education and to our faculty and course directors.
Are first and second year classes on Dartmouth College campus by the admissions office, or at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center?
so for mid-december in hanover, what do most people wear during interview day? I know that we will be indoors most of interview day but, like for males, do we wear a vest underneath or can we wear those wools coats on top of the blazer? Apologies for such mundane questions but I have never been to the northeast during winter and do not know what to expect nor do I want to be shellshocked during interview day or discouraged simply by the climate.
anyone write an loi before an interview invite? anyone get rejected here yet?
