II today for Dec 10th. OOS, complete 9/17
I submitted my secondary app way back in August. I'm currently a student at Loyola's undergrad. MCAT 27Q, GPA 3.8. However, my status reads: "This status has not been verified!!!!" for months! I've called & emailed a couple of times, only to be told that my app is complete and all I can do is wait. I see on this forum that this status apparently means I'm getting an interview, but it's been months & I haven't heard anything! Did this happen to anyone else?
Still not complete! Submitted 9/17. Loyola, why you no mark me complete?
Is Dean Jones/ADCOM receptive to post-interview, but pre-decision LOIs? I want to do everything to help me at this school!
I was just accepted (HOORAY!), and submitted a combination letter of intent/thanks for interview/update on ECs the day after I interviewed. So, perhaps the committee is receptive; at least, it didn't hurt in my case, but can't say for sure that it did anything to help.
Sorry if this post is too late to help out; 'new to SDN
question: does Loyola average mcat scores?
Call..... My file was complete after yours... I was complete in October
Sent using SDN app, please excuse typos and brevity.
Well that was an excellent suggestion. When I saw your post, I called and the guy first politely informed me that there were still technical difficulties and that they would get to me soon.
I then pointed out that you ("my friend") were marked complete a full month before me and that I was pretty sure I got skipped. He stuttered a little bit and then finally agreed to have me marked complete. Success! (It only took ten phone calls over the course of two months...for me to get to the committee before December)
Do I even still have a chance at this school? I'm pretty sad about all this cause I love this school and I would love to go here and it'll be as if I just turned my app in instead of two months ago! Am I dead in the water??
Does anyone know if Loyola teaches to the boards?
Thanks for the info!I mean we don't have assigned reading out of First Aid if that is what you are asking. I'm not even sure what "teaching to the boards" is exactly but I would say yes and no.
YES:
we are given First Aid before we start 2nd year
we have lectures throughout the 2nd year (1 every 6wks) to brush up on 1st year stuff for boards
we are often referred to poignant graphs or pages in First Aid that are pertinent to class
have 6+ weeks of dedicated study period for Step 1
NO:
There are things we learn that have no chance of appearing on boards but this mostly happens in the first year. As an M2, honestly, it doesn't happen too much. At least not to the point where it makes me feel like I am wasting my time. Usually the extra information is in some way useful in patient care and the professor knows it is something extra.
Hope this answers your question
For those who interviewed, do you know when the interview day ends approximately? I want to know if I can safely fly out the same night. Thanks!

Been under review for 10 weeks now, is this normal? Should I be expecting a decision soon?
Did you get the "On hold" status?
Nope, "file is under review with the committee on admissions."
I think thats infinitely better than being on hold! From last year's thread it seems like this schools hold is pretty much a kiss of death for most applicants.
Hey I just thought I would pipe in here to say that I received an ii here yesterday after being out on hold so don't lose hope!!!!!!
Is this the "hold" status?
Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in mid-April. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail.
I submitted my secondary in July, complete in August sometime.

So...bump. Has anyone been under review for more than 10 weeks b4 getting an II?
