No!!! Haha I interviewed in September, and this is definitely a top choice, so I refuse to give up and I don't think you should either.
Same. I interviewed on 10/4 so just patiently waiting 🙂

Do the MMI here tend to focus on ethics, acting out scenarios or just traditional questions? Or is it pretty much a mix of all of those?
MMI are generally always ethical questions at any school. As long as you have common sense, you'll be fine with these. I would say more but we signed a paper saying we can't and idk the extent of the details of that haha put it this way, I interviewed on the first day here where nobody even knew that NYU did MMIs and I just gave it my best shot n got accepted
I'm having trouble paying the deposit - also, I just got an acceptance by email but no phone call, although I did miss two calls from a 352-85. Is that their phone number?Anyone else get an error when they try to submit the deposit?

Definitely made my weekend!
Not always ethical. Think of it like an debate/impromptu question. You're given a prompt, couple minutes to prep, and 5-10 minutes to speak. There is very little back and forth, so what matters is your ability to:
1) communicate thoughts effectively
2) be logical and reasoned in your decision/conclusion.
Think of it as verbalizing an essay.
Still no news! Guess I'll have to wait till after the holidays!
the number was blocked for me
Acceptance vie email this morning! Absolutely surprised since I totally screwed up my mmi 😱
Interview date please?
And, is there any change to the status page once you're offered an acceptance?
I interviewed before then in Oct. Kinda sad now. I guess I'm waitlisted
And to add to this, I think they've only accepted a few of their absolute top candidates (a big congrats to all those accepted!). I *speculate* that they're working their way down a ranked list, slowly accepting a small group of people on each designated acceptance day.I wouldn't say that yet! Their website says "Acceptance letters will be sent out on a rolling basis, beginning in January. Wait list and rejection letters will be sent by March 1st." That's from the How to Apply section, plus the calendar says acceptances start in January.
I'm thinking since there aren't too many acceptances reported here yet, that these December acceptances are kind of like the few November acceptances they released last year.
Also, last year they updated their twitter when acceptances "officially" started coming out on a rolling basis and they haven't done that yet this year.
Don't lose hope yet!
Anyone else get an error when they try to submit the deposit?
Yep me too. Might need to call them after the holiday.
+1 It says something about the security certificate for the pay site not being trustworthy or something like that. 😕
sorry to bring this up again: Did anyone remember getting a status change on their secondary application website after their interview, but before acceptance? Mine still has a black and white circular icon that says "Your interview is scheduled on..." right after the icon. thanks.
Just got an interview invite in my email this morning! Just as I had resigned myself to silence for the holidays 🙂
Complete 11/25. Dates to schedule are in January.
are there many options left? the admissions site say interviews through jan 25, but i feel like they cant have many left to schedule
There were several date options for me, so maybe there are still a good number of spots left? I honestly have no idea.
I don't remember seeing any after the 25th, so that might still be the last date....
anyone know where I should send my update letter to should I upload it as an additional document to my secondary application or should I email it directly to the admissions office Last ditch effort to score an interview and i want to make sure it gets looked at before all the slots are gone 🙂
anyone have any idea on how the acceptance process works..i interviewed in late September and haven't heard back in the first wave. does that mean waitlist/rejection later?
This year is unusual because of the circumstances after Hurricane Sandy. From previous years, it looks like NYU SOM has a large wave of acceptances on a certain day after interviews are over. This was December 15th in previous years (they usually end interviews in early December). However, since they are still interviewing applicants until January 25th, I'd imagine this date will be closer to the end of January (Since they still have on their website that applicants will be notified prior to February 1st - Keep in mind that I also remember that another website said it was pushed back to March 1st so it could be even later).
As with previous years, NYU did accept a small group of people before this date. I think we all just have to wait until their interview season is over.
any idea if theyve started rejecting people pre-interview? cause i'd rly rly love to go to NYU, and i haven't had a decision yet. i sent a letter of interest a few days ago, hoping that helps, but if they stop interviewing in January it seems like theres little chance. oh well ill keep hoping
liiiike me? when was your interview?Cancelled my interview here. Hope it goes to another sdner
Sent from my iPad using SDN Mobile app
I interviewed Dec. 17 and have heard nothing (and I have a connection). Did anyone else interviewing on that date get accepted yet? It seems from thread that they are accepting a fairly good number of top candidates quickly and everyone else is waiting.....and I also saw that last year they "overaccepted" and had to take back some acceptances with guarantee those folks would be in next class = so that would mean there are even fewer spots for our class.....
