In the same shopping center where Tensuke, which is awesome, and Akai Hana there is a japanese bakery, I forget the name. Have you ever tried it before? It is down closer to the guitar store in the center. The baker is kind of unpleasant but he has AWESOME pork buns and desert buns. You should try it if you haven't.

Also, on the same theme here, have you tried Min-Ga on bethel? It is Korean, pretty great stuff.

Never tried the bakery, but I do believe I'll stop by on my way home for winter break. Just gotta get through finals 😴

Funny, I was at Haiku last night for a friend's birthday dinner - I was pleasantly surprised but man, it was expensive!

And Min-Ga - my friend's mom works there, but I'll have to stop by sometime!

After being deferred and not getting the call last round either, I completely put it out of mind. Was shocked to hear Dr. Capers on the line, almost told him it must be a wrong number...why is a Dr. calling me?!!

OH!!!

December 19th if accepted, December 20th otherwise. I'm so impatient, haha.

Does einstein's group represent the last date (12/19/12) that acceptances are being handed out for the year? Also, I remember reading that someone mentioned in an old thread that their "deferred" status "changed" from deferred to "decision pending". Has anyone else experienced this or are the two essentially synonymous? Just trying to figure out what the chances of getting off the deferred list are. All I know is that the list is re-reviewed every week or so and is not ranked in any way. Hoping for some movement, congratulations to those who were recently accepted!

Mine says "deferred-decision pending"

They do. I sent mine to the address they have been using to email us.
 
My status still says "received" I am not feeling the love from OSU....

I just called and they said they do not accept updates pre-interview. They dont have files for us that they can attach it to before we are invited.

Which e-mail specifically did you send your update letter to?

Well if they don't accept them then I wouldn't send one. Mine was post interview.
 
Complete since end of August and haven't heard anything back yet....anyone else in the same boat?
 
Complete since early august...nothing 🙁 I'm extremely grateful to have been accepted elsewhere, but would absolutely love the opportunity to go to tOSU

Anyone else hoping to get a phone call tonight?? What time do they start/stop calling?
 
I'e been singing "I don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan" all day. I go to Michigan, and I'm willing to become a traitor. I've never wanted anything more in my entire life. I hope I get the call tonight.

Edit: anyone get a call?! I noticed they didn't tweet about it... hopefully decisions are still coming out today!

DOUBLE EDIT: I know someone who got the call about 40 minutes ago. I'm assuming they're done 🙁 ... nervous to see my status tomorrow, now!

I got the call at about 8:40 EST. Interviewed this past Monday 12/17/12. Was not expecting this AT ALL. SO SO SO EXCITED! Good luck to everyone else!!
 
I had decided not to do a secondary here, and just received an email Monday saying the deadline is December 22 and that there are still "more than 150 interview spots left". Everywhere else says December 15. Did they extend the deadline? Do people that submit the week of the deadline actually have a chance?
 
so...it's "freezing" here in northern California (33 degrees this morning!) and I'm already running out of winter clothes...

anyone have any idea what I'm supposed to do when I come for my interview here in January? Like...do I just wear a huge jacket over my suit? Haha I feel like such a noob.

On another note--anybody have suggestion for hotels I should stay at for my interview? I applied for a student host but they haven't gotten back to me--wanted to make sure I had a backup jic.

When I interviewed, they got back to me the week before my interview. I highly recommend staying with a student host because he was able to give me a really good idea of what to expect. I had a really great experience

yes, wearing a big coat would be perfectly acceptable. We will hold your coat until the tour, no worries.

Also, there are a couple of decently close hotels. Varsity Inn on Olentangy is close, as is the red roof inn also on Olentangy. Very short cab/car rides.
 
Anyone know when the next round of acceptances are going out?
