Tonight for those accepted, tomorrow for everyone else.

i haven't got any interview call thus far and haven't been rejected as well. What does it mean? Should i just give up the prospects of getting an interview call because i completed my secondary in july 2012 and this wait time is killllling me . seriously just let me know if i am rejected and i can move on 🙁

Some people apply early and get very late interview invites(especially those with relatively low metrics). As far as I know, OSU interviews through March so theres always a small chance you can hear back from a school months after you submitted the application if they re-review your application.

No call either 🙁

I'm sure not everyone they call goes on to post their acceptance on SDN. I hope that they are for some reason or another delayed, but not banking on that. Most likely deferred/rejected at this point .... baaaaa

Usually, they post on twitter to announce calls will be made that evening. I didn't see anything. I am feeling kind of pessimistic myself, but there isn't any indication they started calling (4-5 SNDers haven't gotten anything). Ive also heard of people getting calls well past midnight. Who knows, maybe Dean Capers got tired of calling hundreds of students by this time in the cycle. I wouldn't blame him. Good luck everyone!

An optimistic-pessimist.... I like 🙂

LOL...They did give us papers the size and shape of a coaster saying March 5th and told us that we would get a call on March 4th, but I can't do anything at this point. I hope you're right. I'm still in the office finishing up a project with my cell phone right next to me ... just waiiiiting! Good luck!

Toot toot, deferred train!! I've been riding this baby for 2+ months. Anyone hop off lately?

Good luck tonight everyone! Keep your head up if you don't get a call tonight. Remember that many of this year's M1s didn't receive their acceptance until May (as evidenced by last year's application thread).

I think you should be accepted just because you cool ppl 😛 I have been on that train for about a month now. I believe we need to wait till May 15 when ppl can't hold multiple acceptances anymore.

It's unlikely to get an interview at this point. Our last interview day is March 23 and slots fill out weeks in advance. There is chance to still get an interview, however it would likely require someone giving up their slot.

All the cool kids get accepted in May! At least I did, and my parents always tell me I'm really cool...

Ugh! The dreaded deferred status this morning!

:smack:

I had a really wonderful time at my interview here and I am SO hoping for an acceptance as OSU is #1 on my list after that day!

Hi everyone, I am interviewing this Wednesday and I was wondering if the adcom is receptive to grade & activity updates before/after interviewing. I feel like I called before receiving an ii and they said they said that they don't accept LOIs or updates but I'm not sure if there's a difference for those who've received ii's. Ahh its kinda stressing me out since I have some meaningful volunteering experiences to share as well as grades from the masters that I'm currently in. I think I'm just going to print out the update/LOI and physically give it to my interviewer and the office staff so that the chances of the adcom reading it is high haha. Any insight with regards to sending updates is appreciated!

Yeah, I'd email or mail a letter with updates to them the day/day after you get back or whatever.

You can give it to the interviewers at your interview, but they also ask you if there is anything you want the adcom to know. They are your advocate. My interviewer was really great about making sure she got every new detail I wanted to add so that she could present it to the adcom for me. Don't worry about it. Just bring it up in the interview and they will be your advocate.

In addition, does anyone know when the next "call night" is?

It's TODAY! =D

I was deferred on the 5th, but today is my group's official call day. I still have a sliver of hope....Good luck, everyone!

I thought somebody said March 23 a few pages ago?

Okay I just went back and looked. Someone said March 23 was the last interview day (I just answered my own question, haha sorry for being a lazy looker!), but no one has said anything about when the next call night/status change day is.

I know for those of us who interviewed on March 4th they said we would either get a call on the 18th or see a status change on the 19th.

Any of you who are still deferred got this email today ??? I am I special lol

"As you may already know, many students initially deferred will ultimately be accepted--sometimes weeks later, sometimes months later. Also, please remember that if your deferral status lasts until the summer (sometimes it does), we will want to know that you have completed all required prerequisites before we offer you a seat in the class."

So does this mean that because I'm not finished with the anatomy course I'm currently taking that I can't be admitted right away?

I have no idea! I had the same question.

I was also wondering if this was the cause for the deferral. The email kind of sounded that way but I wasn't going to assume.

I didn't get this email and I'm deferred, however, I HAVE completed anatomy. So I assume that's what they are getting at.

No, you can be accepted without finishing the anatomy pre rec. The point of this is if you happen to get in off the waitlist in July you need to have the class completed before you can matriculate in august. If there is not enough time for you to finish the course then you cannot matriculate and they will choose someone else off the wait list who has finished them.

You can absolutely still get accepted now (even before fulfilling anatomy req.)

I assume it means when they start pulling ppl off waitlist in mid summer (when most ppl would have already finished all their pre-reqs) they may only offer acceptance then to those who completed all pre-reqs (to save time??).

did not receive either, but I have also completed anatomy already

Have never used student doctor network before, so sorry if this is the wrong place to post.
Was talking to a couple friends who just graduated from OSU and apparently I should have started looking for places to live several months ago. On campus housing rates look pretty outrageous, but I think I found some decent off campus housing options for 2+ people. Let me know if anyone is looking for a roommate, or has any good housing suggestions. Planning to check out a few places during second look weekend.

Can email me directly at [email protected] if you are interested or fb http://www.facebook.com/zachurst/

Thanks,
Zach

Here's to hoping some of us deferred folk will get a call 😛

Does anyone know how late into the evening they can call?

If anyone get the call, can you please tell Dr. Capper to send some love my way. Thank you very much.

No call for me either and I have to get some sleep. I would love a voicemail in the morning though!
