Congrats to the newest invitees. Please don't bombard the admissions office with calls. It makes NO difference.

Every time I hear about someone else being accepted, it makes me feel like one of those little toy aliens in Toy Story. "THE CLAW, OOOOOHHHHH."

Did everyone who failed to submit a secondary get a letter encouraging them to go ahead and submit it by the deadline? Just want to see if this letter is exclusive to those who have sufficient stats or if it's something they are sending out to all as a money making tactic?
Thanks!
I got one too - not sure what to think of it
+1 , I submitted the secondary after that. Hopefully it is not just a way to make money![]()
Just got one yesterday for 1/26
When were you complete at CU?
When does CU send out their last IIs?
They gave out a round of acceptances at Christmas. I also interviewed 12/15 and haven't heard. Hang in there!

+1i'm also curious about this. Any advice on last-ditch efforts to let cu know i'm still interested in interviewing?

If you check back a few pages to around that time you'll see that there were some people who got acceptances. Most acceptances come out in March though so hang in there! We are all in this wait together.
Edit this is a reply to desphil sorry phone didn't let me quote properly.

The last mention of an acceptance in this thread was a post on 12/14 referring to an acceptance on 12/12.
Hey SDNers, this is really a last minute question. I am interviewing with AMC tomorrow, and I notice they allow me to bring application updates to the interviewers. I read from other threads that an update letter usually consists of activity and grade updates as well as some kind of statement of continuing interests in the school. In this case, however, does it really make sense to write about what I like about the school, given that I will probably be asked about that question tomorrow during my interview? Thank you very much for your help!
Um...I thought AMC is Albany Medical College...but this is in the University of Colorado thread...so....![]()

Ah, thank you very much, pomona. I didn't see your post last night though, but here's what I did (and plan to do):I interviewed at CU a few months ago. I brought an update letter but didn't end up using it, I had emailed a copy a few weeks before my interview and everyone seemed up to speed (although I barely recall discussing my current gap year research). A good update letter is about a page, and you don't want to spend precious interview time sitting there and watching someone read a letter (and they really move you quick through those rooms at AMC) when you could be talking about yourself. Bring the letter, hand it off to an administrator, keep a copy on hand for the interviews just in case, and email a copy to the office so that it can be attached to your electronic file. Anything important can be discussed as it comes up, just explain that you have yet to send it in an update letter.
Good luck!
Ah, thank you very much, pomona. I didn't see your post last night though, but here's what I did (and plan to do):
I submitted a copy of my one page application updates (just updates, no statement of interests what-so-ever) to each of my interviewer at the end of my interview sessions. I plan to send a formal thank you letter to the admissions committee, in which I will talk about how the school will be a great fit for me and how I like about the school (so kind of like a letter of interest).
What do you think? Is this overkill, since I have already talked about my interests in Colorado during my interview?
Will do, haha. For CU I sent hand-written thank-you notes to my interviewers c/o of the admissions office, and I also sent a letter to the office administrator thanking her too. Definitely email the plain update letter immediately, in case the hard copies do not make it to their intended destination. I would say that if CU is definitely your top choice or if you just think it fits better than most other schools, go ahead and write the letter of interest and attach it to your updates. If you are concise, I can't see it hurting you (try not to repeat anything you wrote in your essays, but I am sure repeating stuff you mentioned in the interview would be fine). I myself have not sent any school-specific letters of interest at this point, but I think that Jan-Feb-March is a the perfect time for them to go out (especially for CU, which makes the bulk of its admissions in early March).
How often is the waitlist reviewed? Is it possible for students to be accepted off of the waitlist prior to May 15?
