True. I interviewed 10/11, but if they hadn't wanted us or something like that I'm sure we would have at least gotten placed on hold. This means they at least just didn't get to our files. All we can do is wait 2 weeks and 1 day until the next round of acceptances!!!

A very long 2 weeks. 🙂 loved this school and can't wait to hear something!

Also, under the housing tab on Blackboard it lists the Bellamy apt's; the Bellamy and the Province are nice places but they aren't in nice areas of town.

Yeah, the Bellamy and Province aren't in the best areas of town, but they are each fenced in and secluded enough to feel like their own small communities. I lived in the Province as an undergrad and never felt like safety was an issue. Plus, each has nice furnished apartments, workout equipment, and a pool. However, the Province and Bellamy are a little pricey, far from Health Sciences, and you'll live mostly with undergrads since both complexes are beside the Belknap campus.

Agreed. I'm finishing up my undergrad here at UK, and always assumed I'd go here but after my interview at ULSOM I'm really considering it to be my top choice. They were so helpful/friendly and the clinical experiences just sounded amazing!

There's always the IN side of the river, if you're looking for cheaper rent and don't mind bridge traffic.

I just got nervous when I realized my interview is a week from tomorrow. Anyone else interviewing on the 8th?

Really appreciate all this info since I am unfamiliar with the area! Anyone have an opinion about the nicest apartments/townhomes near the med school? I have done some searching online but everything seems quite out-dated. I would like to live somewhere nice/safe since I hope to stay in one place all four years.

I've gone to undergrad here but I'm not really sure, I will ask around though!

DO NOT LIVE AT THE BELLAMY AND PROVINCE PLACES!!!!!! I live at the Bellamy and its perfect if your partying hardcore every night. Its awful if you will be in medical school. Also the apartments are nice; however, there is often a ton of crime in these apartments. A week ago there was two occasions where a person was robbed at gunpoint at the province.

Thanks for replying!!
Today is the third day after I e-mailed them about the dates I preferred. I guess I need to be more patient-the day's not over and I know they're busy.

Lobsters, I haven't heard back from them either. I sent the email Wednesday afternoon.

Did any of y'all apply for the MD/MA program?

Hey ChiveOn..I caved in and called.

Glenda is out of the office. When she comes back in, they said something about calling or contacting us about confirmation dates.

I am soooo nervous and elated!

I stayed at the Econo Lodge downtown. It used to be a Comfort Inn and still had the same furnishings, but it felt a little creepy being alone in that part of town at night. On the plus side it was clean, $66 + $5 parking, and a block away from an Old Spaghetti Factory. 👍

I am an OOS and just got the email for an interview on 11/9!! Hoping to interview on 11/20 as I will be on fall break. Fingers crossed that they will get back to me soon so I can book my plane tickets!!!

Anyone else interviewing on 11/20?

Time machine?

Hopefully we all hear some good news tomorrow so we can take that into the holidays.

Anyone have any idea on how many people usually get accepted off the Hold list if you are in-state compared to waitlist in-state?

At this point there is no wait list at U of L. They do not make the wait-list until March. So I don't think you can really answer that question. They did tell us that from hold you could be accepted, rejected, or wait-listed. Hope that answers your question a little.

Does anyone know if the status page updates before emails go out?

For those already accepted, does the status page say anything on the line that says committee decision? I'd just like to know where I should be looking, email versus status page.

I'm so anxious about tomorrow so they probably won't even get to me but I really hope I get great news. I hope everyone else does too. Especially those who interviewed several weeks ago.

Thanks Jas - good luck to you as well. I'm curious about your point as well - do they update the committee decision field? Truthfully it matters little if we know or not, but I think I'm as obsessive as you might be with checking the website!!!!!

Lol, I'm totally obsessive about checking but if I know when and where to check I can chill out.

My status didn't change, granted I got in on the 16th so maybe they wanted to make sure we didn't know anything before the deadline I don't know. I will check and see if it shows anything now.

Haha, not really surprised but it still says nothing under committee decision.

Ugh - I gotta tell ya, very few things as nerve racking as the day of and morning after committee meetings. Really sucks. ha ha

I got my email at 11:00 and so did a few others; I know that is not likely to keep you from checking your email every 10 min starting at 6am but maybe it will keep you from freaking out.

Does anyone know what the grading system at of UoL is? I wrote it down during my interview somewhere but I can't find where lol!

Waiting today is stressing me out even when I'm trying to just remain calm.

You are not alone! My no decision email came a little at 12pm last time while the acceptances came around 11am. Perhaps the earlier the better for the email?

Any SDNers get word today? Nothing here yet. Oct 11th interview
