Any one else nervous about the committee meeting next week? It's also occurring during my finals week so we'll see how this turns out...

Yeah, I really need good news. I'll be done with three of my four exams before I hear anything.

Haha nice, I will probably be taking my first final around the time they send out the emails on Wednesday.

Does UoL offer scholarhips? If so, do you apply?

Thanks,

When do they tell you? It would be nice to know before making final decision? Should I as

Based on past threads, late March is when they let you know about any scholarships.

I'm curious to know if any other MD/PhDers received a personal email from the director of the program? I received one before I ever got a secondary, so I was confused and waited for my secondary to reply... then a little while later he wrote me again asking why I haven't replied or filled out the secondary, haha.
Anyway, he seems like an awesome guy- I just haven't read about this happening on the thread before and didn't know if it was normal.

Hoping for some movement on the hold list by now.... making me super nervous haha

anyone get new interview invites? I have been completed since august and have not heard anything. average scores and born in Louisville but out of state now

Hoping for a good outcome from today's committee meeting! 🙂

We can only hope! I wish the committee wouldn't have skipped the last one though. They have to be so far behind now...

Maybe they will hold a longer meeting to play catch up :xf:.

I believe that Mrs. Osbourne said that today's meeting was the last one for the 2012 year. Does anyone know when they will be meeting again after today?

I would think the second Tuesday of January.

EDIT: Maybe they'll send an update on the next meeting dates in tomorrow's email, if we don't have a decision...

So I'm wondering how long we will have to wait for the emails today. Some weeks they came out around 12:30 but it seems like they came out progressively later in the day as the year progressed. Last time, I think the emails did not come out until 2:30 or so.

Well, at least I can go back to studying for finals and try not to think about it. 🙂

The last update email I got from them came between 2:30 and 3...... which doesn't keep me from checking my email every half hour. 🙂 I'm really hoping for good news today.

Got my MD/PhD interview around noon and my MD interview about an hour later for consecutive days in January... I was complete about 5 days ago, I guess the MD/PhDers work quick!

Congrats on the acceptance! I still have my fingers crossed that I get a good email today.

I'm assuming then that basically if you get an email early you actually got accepted, where as if you get a later email it means they didnt get to you? I still haven't gotten one today, but the past 3 meetings I have gotten emails rather late and told I hadn't been reviewed...

I'm wondering this as well. I haven't gotten an email yet today, this would be my second from them.

"No decision had been made on your file..." Good god, this is 3 straight admissions committees I haven't been looked at. Interviewed 10/11

No decision, once again....

I really wish they hadn't cancelled the last meeting. I feel like that is why they did not get to some of us.

When did you interview? I can't believe I've been waiting for more than 2 months now and still no decision...

About the first week of November. So I haven't been waiting quite as long as you.

Still on hold -.- I feel like I'm the only one that has posted being on hold in this thread. Is anyone else on the same boat? Also, have they even started rejecting ppl or compiling a wait list ? I highly doubt they have looked over their hold applications of there are a bunch of applications they haven't looked at for months now. I wish they wouldn't cancel meeting so much or at least move them so they still have them twice a week. The stress of waiting is driving me nutsssss!!!!!

^agree...I am assuming there is not another meeting until Jan 8th. "no decision" again for me and I interviewed on 11/8.

Accepted! 🙂 Good luck to everyone! Is anyone else doing the Trover program?

I was accepted to it, and I'm leaning towards it! What are your thoughts? I loved the people and the options you have with it (3 year/ stay main campus/ reglar tover) and the scholarships have been awesome in previous years (15-20K a year for two years) plus stipend, moving expenses paid for, cheap housing. I'm surprised they don't advertise these points better.

Yes those scholarships are amazing. I think there is a significant advantage to doing the program. For example, on Louisville campus during 3rd and 4th year you have to compete with students and residents to do procedures. At trover, you do not compete with fellow students and there is only residents in the primary care rotation. You also see about 7-12 times as many patients (correct me if I'm wrong...it was in the Trover book they give you at the interview). Some of the students I met at the interview, the ones on a surgery rotation from the Louisville campus, said they wished that they had done the Trover program because of the one-on-one attention. Also, step 2 scores from Trover are better than Louisville campus. I did hear there were some drawbacks to the program...such as the psychiatry and pediatric rotation not being as well as it is in Louisville. I think you can do some rotation in Louisville and they will pay your moving expenses. Also, slacking is not possible because they will easily notice you slacking since you are working one on one with physicians. For me, this program is awesome. Also, I want to practice in a rural area. I am also somewhat interested in the Rural Medicine Accelerated Track that allows you to complete med school in 3 years and saves you 100K...the drawback is you have to do Family Medicine so I'm not sure if I'm ready to commit to that specialty.

October 30 interviewer, just got my second "No Decision" email. Next best thing to an acceptance but I wonder if it means they haven't gotten to my file or if they just keep pushing mine till later :/

I'm in the exact same boat (same background/ career plans). We still have a while to decide on the 3 year thing. I'm almost positive I want to do family medicine, but I'm not sure I want to cram med school into 3 years. On my interview I met a girl matched into urology and one in some surgical specialty so they're still competitive for residencies if I change my mind at some point. I went into the interview very undecided but the students loved it and really sold me on it, as opposed to when I visited other rural track programs and met students that told me to go to dental school lol.

Congrats on the acceptances!!

I got the "no decision" email. Looks like it's more waiting for me..

I haven't been able to follow this thread but I have been complete since late Sept/early Oct. What month do they stop interviewing and are they open to LOI or updates?

Got an interview invite today. Been complete since end of July. Interview dates are for January.

Also, from the "complete" email I received back in July:

The ULSOM conducts interviews from mid - August through the end of February. Candidates are selected for interview from mid - July to the end of January.

I'm on hold too... Yeah, been on hold since Oct 16th... It's been a long wait.

They start compiling a wait list in March, and I'm actually not sure if they've started rejecting people yet. I am curious about that too. Does anyone have an answer?

You're IS hold right? I'm OOS hold. I don't know if there is a difference in the way that they handle the two piles.

I really wish they'd let us know already...

Yea I'm in state hold and I really wish they would let us know something too. At least a date or something of when they are planning on going over the holds again. And yea, I still don't know whether they are even rejecting yet....haven't heard anyone getting rejected so...... 😕

Do you know anyone else on hold? Gahh, it's so frightening to be on hold so early. What does this mean for our application?!?
