I was accepted a couple months ago 😍

I know they don't give you the money, but I meant where they tell you what kinds of loans you are eligible for/institutional aid and all that. Most schools send this out before May 15th. I've gotten the info from everyone except the U so far.

If you're accepted you can email [email protected] to ask for an estimate of your loan awards / need-based aid.

Is any fellow international student interviewed at the U here?
Are Canadians considered international?

Anyone get any updates on the WL ranks. Are they still behind and likely to come out around May 15th?

You might be in the wrong thread. We are awaiting admission decisions from the medical school.

I wonder if he/she has been following this the whole cycle thinking it was the pharmacy thread...

After being wait listed and rejected by my state school and UCSD today, MN is now my last hope.

Does anyone know if they have sent out waitlist ranks yet?

They aren't sent out until June and I believe are done through email.

Thanks! I was just kinda confused because someone had a school selection post on here that already made it seem like they were sent out and they estimated the cost over four years to be a very nice 60K.

Yeah, from what I was told they aren't sent out yet because the school still had to approve the budget for next year.

The cost of attendance each year I think is around 60-64k. But that is obviously an overestimate.

Do my fellow international students hear anything?
I was receiving mixing messages. On my interview day, I was told Canadian students are not counted as international students. But I called the office the other day and was told that Canadians are international.
And then I heard that international students will be on a different waitlist. The office said all students are on the same one.

Trust no one.

I received an acceptance package from TC today which surprise me because I didn't think they were sending anything until they finalized the wait list. Someone had asked previously about whether they had stopped giving acceptances so I figured I'd share.

Thank you for sharing. Did you receive a waitlist letter before? When did you interview if you don't mind asking?
I'm curious whether they haven't met their quota or they are accepting as people withdraw.

I did receive the waitlist letter previously saying that they needed to finish reviewing all applicants before making final decisions. I interviewed mid February (the 18th I believe) and am technically OSS (although I lived in MN most my life and have just recently moved/redeclared residency). I am curious about that too, especially since, at least from whats posted here, they haven't sent anything out in a quite some time.

Did you receive a call about the acceptance or only the package in the mail?

fwiw I spoke with the dean at Wisconsin yesterday and he said he recently talk to the dean at Minnesota. I guess they have started offering spots to people on the wait list. I have a feeling these are people who are high priority and would have been ranked really high on the list. I'm not sure if these spots were due to withdrawals or if they were the last couple of open spots, but yes people on the wait list are starting to get acceptances apparently.

For those wondering about recent acceptances, I also was accepted May 3rd (first by phone, then by a letter), interviewed beginning of March. I'm OOS with family ties to MN, but I've never lived there

Waitlist rankings were sent out this morning. Those in Minnesota can expect them tomorrow or saturday (says the person who answered my phone call).

Thank you for always updating us.
Pray we all get in cz I would like to know you🙂

Got mine today.

52. Anyone know when/if the hotline will be available? I feel like I am a longshot at 52, but would like to know where I stand!

Didn't they go into the high 50s, low 60s last year. There is still hope. 🙂

Just opened my letter...ranked #11! After looking at everyone elses MDApps, etc I am shocked that my rank was this good. Feeling very lucky right now!

Also got my wait list rank in the mail today - 136. Which I think means I am safely out of the running. IS, cGPA 3.85, sGPA 3.84, MCAT 35P, and I thought I had a great interview day. How does this process make sense???

At least it's Friday - I will go drown my sorrows.

Did anyone NOT get their ranking in the mail? I live in Minneapolis, so I thought I'd get it today -- but no!

Very similar stats to you, and I'm 52. Its very hard to see similar number with large difference, very confusing 🙁

Lots of good watering holes in Minnepolis thankfully though!

Don't be so pessimistic. Do they even rank people to 200s?

Haha, I don't think they do. I just assume Ill get a horrible rank or a rejection given the way my other two wait lists have panned out.

+1

cGPA 3.91, sGGPA 3.90, MCAT 35O, IS. 150 on the waitlist. Guess I won't be matriculating this year.

Yup.

Ranked 73, 3.85 cumulative and science GPA, 37P MCAT...

Anyone know if you can reapply at the U if you're still waitlisted, or do you have to withdraw? 73 is pretty much a no-go, right?

Boy, Minnesota has some pretty smart people in it.

Anyways, My stats aren't nearly as great as the rest of you but got my rank. Won't be attending the U, will be withdrawing from the waitlist. 🙁

This is actually good news in some respects, it keeps me from making a difficult decision. I would have needed a lot of scholarships to make the U financially competitive. I kept carrying the torch for the U but now that I have my rank and realize I no longer have a shot here, I can move on.

Happy Mother's Day everyone, especially to my mom in Minnesota who will be pretty disappointed I won't be coming home for school. Probably for the best 😉

Man your Mother's day comment got me. I also have a mother who would love to see me to home for school. And I definitely feel your comment about it being sort of good news in a way. I had similar feelings when I got waitlisted at other schools.

Congrats on your acceptance elsewhere and best of luck!
