Just got an acceptance call from Duluth. For the last spots they are issuing acceptances in three waves, with the first wave I suspect getting calls today.

Best of luck for people waiting to hear from Duluth!

Congrats!

I'm hoping to hear from Duluth soon. Do you mind sharing when you interviewed?

I interviewed 1/9... which was a bit after they accepted the first 45 in the class. They said then that they interview the rest before making decisions for the last 15 spots.

I also had received the letter saying I was on the high priority applicant list (not sure on the wording...) a while back when they sent those in February.

Best of luck to you! I hope you hear good news soon. 🙂

Yes tomorrow 4/5 there is a second look for accepted applicants

For those who attended the second look today, how was it?

Withdrawing from my other schools today. I really hope I correctly filled out all the paperwork for my spot at MN haha... but really

That marks the end of the application process for me! Best of luck to everyone else and hope to see you Aug. 5th!

Hello everyone! Duluth is my only medical school left (it was my first choice anyway), and I have some information for Duluth applicants that you may find helpful:

I interviewed in Duluth in early December. After getting my high priority acceptance letter, I was super excited, but through previous conversations with Susan in the admissions office I wasn't sure when I would be hearing back. I called recently (two Fridays ago?) and she told me that as of then, there were 20 spots left in the class and 60(!) people on the priority acceptance list. At that time, there were only 12 people left who hadn't been placed yet, so they started sending acceptances to the first people on the priority list. So, as it stands, the top 20 will get acceptances, then the alternative list will be formed. She told me that they usually go about 20 names down the alternative list as people drop, so unfortunately it seems like not everyone on the high priority acceptance list will be offered a place in the class. If you're like me and this is your last school, the news may not be the best... So I figured I should let you all know in case you want to start looking for gap year plans!

Can any insiders out there provide insight regarding the progress of the waitlist formulation at TC? Still on track to be released around April 30th?

All the letters I've received and people I've talked to have indicated that it will probably be around May 15th. If earlier, that's awesome, but I've heard the committee's last meeting is May 1st, so it will most likely be after that.

Interviewed at TC on 3/1 and still haven't heard back.

Really hoping for an acceptance here more than anything.

Just received my WL letter. 🙁
Interviewed mid-Feb.

Has anyone who interviewed mid to late February at TC been accepted?

Did anyone get an acceptance call yesterday?
I didn't think they were giving acceptance calls anymore. From my understanding, everyone's put on the waitlist from this point on (or rejected). Did you get an a call?

I did not get a call. This week makes it 6 weeks after my interview, so I wasn't expecting to hear back anytime sooner. I didn't know they weren't giving out any more acceptances at this point though. Did you hear that from the admissions office or is it a rumor? If it's true, that kind of sucks for everyone that interviewed late. Didn't even get a real chance...

That's how schools with rolling admissions work. Most schools are pretty up front about the advantages of applying early. It sucks because the only students who are at a disadvantage are the ones who are very qualified, apply late, and don't get in, but it makes it easier on adcoms. If you don't get in this year, make sure to submit your AMCAS on June 1st this year.

The best advice I could give anyone.

Just withdrew my acceptance today, hope that one of you gets my spot!

I really, really hope I get in.

It's this or going to my fiancé's native country and go the IMG route.

Sigh.

Can anyone verify that the U has ceased giving acceptances?

No, but I believe the deadline for giving out pre-waitlist acceptances is May 1st, so any acceptances should come soon. They're probably getting close to their 160 limit, if they haven't reached it already. Once they reach the limit, everyone past it goes on the waitlist.

Isn't the class 170 or 175? I think most schools over enroll their class as well.

Between 160-170 is their goal if I'm not mistaken. I read somewhere that they accept 50-100 more people than they have spots.

Is that 50-100 more including waitlist acceptances, or is it acceptances before the waitlist is considered?

I would think total acceptances, so including the wait list acceptances. Last year, they accepted roughly 50 or so people off of the wait list.

In case anybody wanted to know, I was very closely tracking the waitlist and will be doing the same this year as a re-applicant. Last year's list went to #64.

According to this thread, the last round of acceptance calls were 1.5 months ago! Does anyone know of any more recent calls? Are we to think that anyone who interviewed in February or later is still waiting to hear back about acceptance (I see there have been some who interviewed in February and have since been rejected or waitlisted, but no acceptances)?

Have the feeling that they will send out snail mail after May 1st, so next week or the week after next week. Will it be annoying to call the office on May 2 and ask about the result? Cannot wait to know, good or bad.

Judging from the last few years' threads, the admissions office will say if the letters have been sent out, but not the result.

Based on last year's thread, it looks like the rankings were received by waitlisted applicants via snail mail around May 4th (I'm guessing it will be a little later than that this year). This letter included information about how to track waitlist movement (a hotline or something). Waitlisted applicants who ended up being accepted were notified by a phone call.

Just got the snail mail letter that I am waitlisted yesterday.

I hope you are placed at a high ranking on the waitlist! If you don't mind me asking, when did you interview? I was interviewed late Feb and still waiting to hear something... 😕

Thanks, and I interviewed 3/5. I heard the adcom reviews candidates based on whenever the interviewers are finished with your assessment so I guess my interviewers just sent in my assessment earlier than yours... I hope you have a good outcome though!

I believe you didn't receive your ranking, right?

Hope the best for everyone who interviewed late/on waitlist. Guess a few more weeks we will know.

Wait List as of Friday, interviewed on Feb 22. Are oos students usually placed lower on the wait list?

I called to ask about that and they said there is no way to tell. I'm assuming it doesn't help.

I was accepted a couple months ago 😍

I know they don't give you the money, but I meant where they tell you what kinds of loans you are eligible for/institutional aid and all that. Most schools send this out before May 15th. I've gotten the info from everyone except the U so far.

That's what I meant. The notices aren't sent out until June.

Got my rejection letter today. Can't believe my state school denied me admission. Interviewed March 14th. On the good side, I have admission from an OOS school. All the best to those who haven't been accepted yet.

If you don't mind me asking, were you waitlisted?
