And yes, like 2 people per year try and switch in, but their success depends on the number of spots available for that year.
 
So....I just got a rejection letter from here. My application is "no longer under consideration." I kind of assumed that, seeing as how rankings have already passed. :laugh:
 
Such little activity on this particular school forum compared to the others... I wonder if it is because they prematch so few people and no one knows if they are going here yet?

Interestingly enough, BCM prematches (per say) very few people as well and its thread is much longer.

Possibly due to the nature of student's who apply there, a lot more types that are likely to be on SDN than the other schools since there is a much greater pool of OOS applicants. Texas SDNers are probably only a small percentage of the SDN population.

There were more people from Harvard, Yale, John Hopkins etc at my Baylor interview then there were kids from Texas public schools lol.

That's true 🙂

On a side note, I've heard that students at UTH, as part of the big UT Health Science umbrella, sometimes have trouble with filing paperwork, etc. Can anyone confirm/refute this?

Hopefully yall get it! I got a couple friends that I am hoping get matched here as well. I definitely felt like it was the best place to be for training!
 
I've read a few posts saying that match rankings come out at midnight tonight, however others say 8am tomorrow.
Does it vary?

Per the TMDSAS site, the "official" time that match results are released is 8 AM CST. However in recent years, the match results have been posted at midnight. So there's a chance they'll be up at midnight, but they should definitely be up by 8 AM. Good luck to us all!! :luck:
 
I havn't posted much, but I just wanted to say an extra good luck to def1. I've been vicariously feeling your pain on the whole UTSW vs. UTH dilemma, one I had myself.

I also chose UTH, so here's to hoping you get in and we become classmates!

And yeah it took a lot of thought but I finally realized UTH was the perfect choice for me. I hope we get to be classmates too.

Good luck to all the hopefuls tomorrow, trust me when I say its the best feeling in the world when the stress of match day approaching is over and done with.

Also had the same decision to make as y'all between UTSW and UTH and I believe it is apparent by now that I have chosen UTH.

Just realized that all these screen names posting they got a match will actually be in class with me next year. Pretty crazy well all probably know each other fairly well a year from now. I'm pumped for that! 😀

typically there is quite a bit of waitlist movement.

congratulations to everyone who matched. it's a fantastic school and you'll be quite pleased with your decision to come here.

Not to be THAT guy, but do any current student's remember when they set you up with your student info, like school email.. etc. I may or may not be overly excited to update my education info...
 
I know how exciting it can be to add UT Houston to your facebook networks...

but unfortunately I don't think they set that stuff up for you until orientation, which is just a few days before class start.

I could be wrong about that, but I remember being disappointed that I didn't get it earlier.

Just wondering, about how much is "quite a bit"? Just from looking around the site it seems like most schools pick up 10-20 people off the waitlist. Is that the magnitude of movement we're talking about in this case?

It's really hard to say. When you ask around my class, there's always a good number of folks who seemed to get in off the waitlist. Maybe as many as 40-50?

I don't want to get anybody's hopes up too much because it's not like I have access to that number, but it's not like there's a lucky few that will get in. In the next couple of months I think you'll see that there's more movement than you expected.

Long time lurker here but I just wanted to say congrats to those that matched, I couldn't be more excited to be going to this school, and I look forward to seeing those of you who decide to go here in the fall!
