Anyone know the MCAT/GPA cutoffs for interview invites?
There aren't any real cut offs. That being said, our averages for the class of 2016 were around 3.75 and 31.5.
Are you not at retreat ?!?
Haha we got back from retreat yesterday afternoon. It was definitely as fun as they built it up to be.
Interview invite this morning - for 9/21!
I think I missed the boat again.
me too mate (36p, sgpa = ugpa =4,ggpa=3.51).
Sent via my crappy phone.
Just got an interview invite, super excited! I was really hoping for an interview here =)
Stats: 4.0 cGPA/sGPA, 29S MCAT, in-state resident.

What is your interview date?
Uhm. I received two under review emails: one on 8/17 titled "Received Application for UT Houston Medical School" and one today titled "CONFIRMATION of application -UT HOUSTON." Weird. Anyone else have this happen? Nothing has changed and my MCAT scores aren't supposed to post until 9/5.
I got the Confirmation email just today, but not the other one. Does anyone know what the lower range of MCAT scores is for UT Houston? What's the lowest score that someone has gotten an interview with? Any in the 25-28 MCAT range?
Got the same e-mail as well. My first confirmation email was on 8/17 and I got one just now at 2:50 pm. Hopefully they were trying to send us interview invites and sent the wrong email! That would be awesome! =]
Honors, high pass, pass, marginal performance, fail.Does anyone know what grading system UT-Houston has (P/F or A/B/C)? Also, is the curriculum mainly lectures or group based learning? Finally, are out of state student given instate tuition like at UTHSCSA?
Does anybody know if Houston is responsive to "in the area emails"? I have a couple of other interviews grouped together and would love to not have to fly back and forth if they're gonna give me an invite.
Call for an interview this morning! Unfortunately, she woke my up from a dead sleep and math to pick a date was embarrassingly hard...
Complete in early June, 3.4 and 35Q.
Do you guys think --current student feedback very appreciated---- that a doctor LOR would help any? if so, I have a DO LOR so far and an MD is in the process of writing one...should I send both, wait for MD, send DO now? dunno, maybe DO is not taken much into consideration since this is an MD school.
BTW, if you ask me, a physician is a physician regardless of letters, but you never know with ADCOMS.
Input appreciated!
This doesn't really belong in school specific discussions imo.
Not a current student, but please also use the search function, I think it has been mentioned a few times, but to answer your question:
