I'm wondering as well (I'm out of state) but I don't think we'll see any until May at the earliest. People aren't going to actively turn down a seat at UT Southwestern until they have to.

+1. Are the scholarships that went out to top applicants recycled as they choose to go elsewhere? Can any current students comment on whether this happened during the May waitlist movement?

Heard from administration that they anticipate financial aid packages going out April 1. Although traditionally looks like this happens mid April

You'll find out at the same time that you get your financial aid package (although I think these get packaged as grants, but financially speaking, they're basically the same thing).

Scholarships do get recycled, but I'm not sure if they get moved back into the general funding pool or if they're given to someone else.

Pay while in school/residency is well documented, but any idea what you will be making post residency during payback? Even if it's just a ball park range.

My understanding is that post residency pay is not great, ballpark $125k the first year, and add another $5k or so to each subsequent year. It is best if

1) you are already considering the military
2) you have a family or any dependents
3) you are planning on doing primary care (less pay discrepancy)

But, bear in mind you wouldn't need to take on any debt or interest during school, you would make roughly double that of a civilian during residency (and again, no loan interest racking up), and as an attending you wouldn't have any overhead to worry about (malpractice insurance, etc.). Lastly, a good chunk of that is not taxable. If you want specifics I can get you in touch with my recruiter.

I haven't received anything yet. We are in the same boat. I read somewhere here that packages will be handed out mid April, bc that's weekday happened last year. In any event, they should arrive soon now.
I have filled some forms (daycare stuff for my kids), so they are withing on it...

After logging into my.swmed.org where should i go to see my financial aid package? Student Self-Service? Peoplesoft Student System?

"Student self-service", and then "Student center", and under the "finance" tab you will see your package.

A little bit disappointed. I didn't get any grant but unsubsidized loans only. I thought UTSW had pretty decent financial aids 🙁

Salaam, mine had been disabled. So i think now nobody has access. I think i raised an alarm and somehow they figured that this stuff shouldn't be available yet. Reminds me of how the acceptance played out...

For finincial aid info you should have an email on your utsw outlook account. Go their and follow their link to people soft and follow the email instructions to view your finincial aid package. I got a nice little scholarship 🙂

This is going to sound really crazy, but I've been checking my UTSW Gateway thing every so often to just see my status, and I checked today, and I can't click on "My Interviews" anymore because that link has disappeared... Eep! Is this a bad sign or am I just being an insane pre-med?

I have the same thing, I am a waitlisted applicant. I would imagine its because tomorrow the application opens for next year so it is updating or something.
