I don't think it's worth speculating. None of us know which score we were given.
 
so decision day is coming up and I still haven't received a status change. I wonder if my interviewer has presented my file to the committee
 
Great point. I just ain't gonna worry until Monday. Time flies on the weekend during app season right??

For some reason, although SDN only accounts for a small number of the applicants, it seems to me like there are more OOS applicants and less IS applicants this year compared to the previous years.
 
I'm counting down the days until Monday...only 4 left! If I get into VCU, I'll have a hard time deciding between med schools!

And for what it's worth, I got my status update back in October at 3:16 Pacific Time (or 6:16 Eastern).
 
Good luck to all those who are hoping to get accepted on Monday! VCU is currently my top choice out of the schools that have offered acceptance. I could see myself going here and being extremely happy. I'm excited that more people will be joining those who have been accepted. I absolutely loved it there!

Honestly, it depends on your stats and financial situation. A secondary sent in this late probably won't get an interview (and if you did would almost certainly end up in a waitlist at best) but you never know (and even waitlists can turn into acceptances).
 
Are we talkin admissions status update or post interview hold status? Because I thought the admissions were coming out Monday.
 
I'm waiting for the post-interview hold status that people normally get when their file gets reviewed

Nothing yet 🙁

I just realized that last year, Decision Date was on Thursday, so it would make sense for these people to get a hold and an acceptance in one day, since Thursday's not Committee Day.

This year, Decision Date is on a Monday, so that makes things really really tight... but Dr. Whitehurst-Cook said they'll get 'em to us on time, so I don't see why they wouldn't. It's gonna be one heckova Monday at VCU HQ!

Can somebody explain why everyone is saying acceptances will go out on 12/17 and not today (12/15) like they told us?

Because Dr. Whitehurst-Cook specifically told us so at our info session on December 6. Also because the 15th is a Saturday.
 
Recently I have learned from a source that the committee will meet next Monday Dec 17th. If they really meet next Monday 17th, it makes sense for a lot of us who hasn't received the "hold" status and it also makes more sense that they will release the decision on the same day of the meeting. How come everyone here keep saying that the committee already met last Monday, December 10th ??? Is it that the committee meet every Monday ? Otherwise, there is a conflict of information flow here.

The committee meets every Monday, barring a holiday or some other special event. I'm sure there will be a select few who haven't received a status update, and will hear back Monday with an acceptance status.
 
Hmm I was under the impression that they met every Monday, but our file will only be reviewed if our interviewer was available that day. But do correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm wondering, if they meet Monday the 17th to discuss our files, would these files still be considered for the Dec.17 decision date? Or do you think Dr. W-c already has a list made based on previous Monday meetings?

This waiting is driving me crazy...
 
I called the admissions office and they told me that those considered on the 17th would not be eligible to receive their decision that day.
 
Yeah that's what I figured. Oh well, hopefully next time...

Haha that's so silly. If they talk ab your file and give you a number, they already know whether or not they'll accept you. Why would they make you wait two more months?

I was told otherwise, that I would still receive decision on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.

In any case, for those of us who haven't received the hold status update, let's just pray we're going to receive it together with the acceptance status on Monday 17th :luck: I'm tired of this wait too.

That is completely the opposite of what Dr. Whitehurst-Cook told us. I would be so disappointed if i dont found out by then, the wait is killing me.
 
Tell me about it...I've been waiting since early October. The same thing happened to me last time. I interviewed the week before a decision date and I ended up not hearing back on that decision date. It's a long wait but you'll hear back soon enough!
 
So many conflicting information! I don't know what to believe in anymore!

Did they specifically tell you that you'd hear by then or not? Because I interviewed 2 weeks before and they told us we'd hear.

Edit: looked at last year's thread. Last year's December 6 interviewees DID hear back on decision day, but not before decision day! I think we have a reason to be hopeful.

The last interviewee I met said Dr. W/C said her group (last Wed) would not be eligible for the Dec acceptance date.

Physiologist, do you mind me asking which date you attended the interview ?
 
I interviewed October 23rd, about a week after the last offer day, and I was told that group would be receiving a decision today (December 15th). On my application status page, it says

"The Admissions Committee has met to discuss your file. Your application is being placed on hold for action at a later date. We anticipate making offers October 16, December 15, February 1, and March 16. Only offers of admission will be made on the dates above.

You will receive no further communication from us concerning your hold status. The next status change you will be contacted about will be to offer you a position in the class, to notify you that you have been placed on the alternate list (the alternate list is formulated in late-March), or to notify you that the Committee will no longer be considering your file.

We thank you for your interest in our school."

I'm not really sure what to think. Am I not accepted? Some of the people here have been saying something about the 17th- is that when I'll find out?

Hold status means you are either accepted or wait listed, you find out which one on the 17th

December 6. They told me we were the last group they are going to inform on December 17
 
But only if your interviewer was able to make it to the meeting, right? I interviewed Dec 4th, so I'm hoping to hear back soon too

I assume they would only assign me an interviewer who would make it to the meeting, otherwise Dr. W-C wouldnt have been so certain that we would find out. Especially since a lot of us haven't heard yet.

It's probably a systemic thing.
